This was my fiancé grandparents home.
There is no tunnel underneath. His dad, aunt and uncle own it now.

I really hope that someone saves it. Posting the video brought it a lot of interest. A couple of hundred people claim that they are interested in buying it now and are supposedly contacting realtors. It's such a beautiful home but I understand that these projects are pricey.

@@laboroflove-diydiscover I would love that. I'd love to do a follow up and show the success. I do that with a lot of locations. Did by any chance, my video bring any type of interest to the house? Or did you know of its existence prior? I'm only asking because I had really hoped that my video would bring more awareness to such a beautiful location. Either way I couldn't be happier to hear that you're saving it. If you'd like to reach me on Instagram for private messaging I'm at Underground_Gathering, it's actually my tattoo page. We could exchange numbers on there. @@diydiscoverdid you guys do any work to it??? I grew up here as well and that place has been sitting forever I’m not sure who owned it when you bought it but I worked with a lady named Ruthie at the local Patton sheetz and she had owned it but had to sell due to her son having medical issues and had to go back to Arizona. Wish u guys the best of luck and if you ever need help Pattonsbeen waiting to see that place fixed up for decades!!

So for those asking I’m quite late on this but the story is really not a mystery. This is an old mansion I believe it was owned originally by the patton paver brick owner, or whatever they were called. Anywho, a lady I worked with at our local Sheeetz here named Ruthie had purchased this mansion years ago in hopes to fix it up, she did a lot of work to it she was actually a nurse before she worked at sheetz with me. She ended up sellling the property because it got quite expensive it needs a lot of work, there black mold inthe house. She had to go back to Arizona due to life problems and she ended up coming back and working with me for a while. I do think she said she was moving back to Arizona again towards the end of working there with her. She was such a kind soul ❤

It's so strange to see the randomness in that place. Antique items mixed with relatively new, some rooms in completely decrepit states while others look like they were lived-in within the last few years. Also the little propane bottles everywhere. Yet, someone went through the trouble and expense of having the roof redone.
It'd be REALLY interesting to know the story on that place. Someone with some money to burn could bring out the potential that place still has. Great video!

      The story is:
The house was built in 1928 by the General Manager of the Patton Clay Manufacturing Co. The great depression came and the owner was able to survive the difficulties but went bankrupt in 1938. The house was held by trustees & creditors until 1947 when it was purchased by a local business leader and it's been in her family for close to 80 years. They never abandoned the property, they put a very expensive roof on it but the reality is, homes like this require a lot of effort to maintain. They did a great job.
They sold the house to me and my family and I are restoring it.

keep in mind that while slate roofs may last a very long time, they are expensive to repair. based on the damage inside, the slate roof had obviously failed. that metal roof probably comes with a 50 year warranty. i bet the owner decided it was cheaper to replace with metal than to repair the slate.

Under the property there's tunnels underground that travels the whole way up to the queen of peace festival grounds they used them during the prohibition era. It's sister mansion is the other brick mansion near the road. It's rumored the wiendikers built secret passages within the walls. It is also rumored that the grounds are haunted. I grew up in Patton. The sister mansion use to be the VFW.
