I always held Splinters in high regards. Despite growing up in Eldorado area of Altoona, I’d prefer the haul there. Truly a great place for cosmic bowling. I spent countless highschool weekends here with the crew.

This video touched my heart with such sadness. The Covid took not only lives; but livelihoods of business owners, workers, and family traditions. What a beautiful tribute to this wonderful place and remembering the fun times everyone had.

Thank you Laura. Sad times we are living in but then again history repeats itself and mankind will prevail.

Great video! I was bowling here right up until the owner said "2 weeks and we're closing" Complete surprise. I do own a couple of the arcade pinballs from here; they still smell like the place. (Lane oil).
Appreciate how respectful you are to the locations you visit. Top notch!

Thank you Dan! I really try to capture the feeling of a place without goofing around and making unnecessary comments. I know these places a very special to a lot of people so I try to keep in the back of my head, how would they feel about this. Thank you for checking it out. AMC Logan Valley Mall Movie theater video coming out next month.

We had talked about taking the kids there when we lived in town, but never took the opportunity while they were still open. Wish we would have. Great video!

Back when it was Penn Classic Lanes the manager Elwood Faggard was murdered by someone using a bowling ball. It was after hours the assailant took all of the cash and the bowling ball was found in the weeds nearby. (If I remember my facts correctly).

I used to take my kids there due to no alcohol being served there

Seems really odd that place is way too clean, and nothing has been removed or sold minus what looks like the arcade area. Plus power still on and internet box still active.
Maybe there may be a chance of a reopening under new ownership, just way I see things imo

The new owners are not reopening as a bowling alley. The gave me access to the building. That's why I wanted to film it before it changes into whatever they do to it. They did not disclose what they are doing to it but they made it clear that it will not be a bowling alley. Not sure when they are starting construction but I didn't want to miss my chance to capture it in this condition.

I must wonder if it was covid, or the measures installed in response to covid.
