    Thank you! We only needed help with the tension on the screen door retraction and you addressed that perfectly! We even called the Pella Service people from where we purchased our door and they wanted to sell us a whole new 'tension kit'. All they had to tell us was to insert a screwdriver and turn for more tension!

    My rolscreen sticks a little on the bottom track. The top track slides closed faster and sometimes the top and bottom get out of whack. I applied A-luma-lub thinking it would help with sticking. I also cleaned the track. The tension seems to be a little tight as when the screen is latched there is not a tight connection between the rail and screen and insects can come in. Any help on adjusting after installation?

    A dog incident also led me to your excellently presented video. I have the same Pella Rolscreen. Fido went through the bottom section of the screen. I'd like to try and repair it as the Rolscreen is unavailable through Pella. Can you tell me how you would remove the screen cover without damaging any of the plastic hardware that holds it in place so that I can remove the Rolscreen. Thank you so much for the video!

    Hi. This is a great video. I already have this door and screen (installed prior to my buying the house). My dog tried to run through the screen and now the screen is too loose. Is it possible to remove the screen cover without breaking it, so I can retighten the screen? I've tried to get it off, but have hesitated to apply too much pressure for fear of breaking it.

      The clips that hold the screen cover on are pretty fragile, so caution is key. I had to remove my screen cover once to retighten the screen, and did so by twisting the cover off in a counterclockwise fashion. Happily, nothing broke!

I had to remove my screen cover once to adjust the screen tension, and did so by twisting the cover off in a counterclockwise fashion. Is it normal to have the screen on the inside of the door? I’ve been thinking our door is installed incorrectly but it has a track with no screen on it al all

    • @doityourselfstan
      @doityourselfstan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This particular brand of screen is installed on the inside of the door. One drawback to that is you have to shut the screen first before closing the sliding door. If you shut the screen in the evening, all the bugs that have gathered on the screen will come indoors before you can close the sliding door!

    • @n40tom
      @n40tom 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually like the screen on the inside as it stays much cleaner. Before I shut the slider I look for bugs on my screen and flick them off through the screen with my finger. I kind of get a kick out of doing it. LOL

    On minute 12:00 how would you remove the screen cover? Do you just pull on it?

    • @doityourselfstan
      @doityourselfstan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to remove mine once. Basically, I just gave it a slight clockwise twist as I pulled on it. It snaps on, and it snaps off. If your screen is on the right side, you'd probably have to give it a slight counter-clockwise twist when you pull on it. You'll need to be a little bit careful not to break plastic parts!

    Good install video, but this example is a non-standard because this slider is an XO installed in reverse (interior). Most sliders would be installed with operating panel on the inside of your home and therefore rollscreen would attach on the exterior of door where the fixed panel is.

    • @doityourselfstan
      @doityourselfstan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Per Pella's instructions, their screen installs on the inside of the door either way.

    • @mikemontgomery3391
      @mikemontgomery3391 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pella's Lifestyle series wood SGDs by design ,have the operative panel outboard from the fixed panel, ergo the reason why the rolscreen is on the inside.

  • @n40tom
    @n40tom 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I hope I don't have to replace my screen I have a different set up than you and it will be a bear. I had a tornado break the glass in the stationary panel of the sliding door unit . These panels are not replaceable like the slider as they are built in. It cost me well over $1,000 just to have the glass replaced but it was a much easier fix then replacing the entire unit.

      @@doityourselfstan having worked for the company for many years, I have to disagree, at least with the clarity of your title.
