The bridge featured in the film was shot at Thedingworth on the old gated road up to the Hothorpe hills and they put a mock hedge up across the field for authenticity this is the Harborough - Rugby line.

Thanks for watching. It was a very odd feeling it felt like we were walking in a crime scene. It's a very old bridge anyway but when you see the same bridge with all the police vehicles it's quite an odd feeling

The farm has now gone. There's a bungalow there now, and apparently the owners don't like people going up the track off the main road to have a nosey around, which I suppose is understandable. Like I say, all of the original farm buildings have now gone, so there's nothing to see. I know all this because I deliver to a farm very close by.

Very interesting video Middy. I remember this well and I think it was 1967 an excellent feature film was released called Robbery which in my opinion was the best film.

@@MiddyExplores Good Middy, It's a great film and I think it captures the atmosphere at that time perfectly, so much more realistic because it was made fairly soon after the robbery itself. On the down side it was awful and sad that Jack Mills had been coshed over the head which affected him for the rest of his life but there was some admiration from the public too how the robbers had used their skills in getting away with it, so they thought at the time. It got quite political with the government making an example of them by the courts sending the robbers to prison for 30 years which was considered excessive by some. Its interesting how different the film Buster was. Enjoy the film.
My late pap knew Jack Mills (Driver) who died in 1970. Jack never did recover from the robbery after a blow to his head RIP 🥀 He use to pop in the Rugby Station canteen and have a cuppa before he departed on his journey 🚂
@@MiddyExplores Exactly with various heists over the years. This one was a whole lot different with Jack's incident. Otherwise you'd think job well done. Wasn't the case and it was very sad.

@@MiddyExplores That's interesting because I believe the locomotive 40126 (D326) was disposed of hastily to prevent any souvenir hunters taking anything off it.
