I'm an Anthrax fan, and I do have to say that this list was a bit of a shocker, but not as controversial as I thought it was going to be. Thank you for FINALLY doing Anthrax Questy. Now the Big 4 is complete. Here's my list for Anthrax:
#11: Volume 8: The Threat is Real (1998)
    #10: Stomp 442 (1995)
    #9: Fistful of Metal (1984)
    #8: We've Come for You All (2003)
    #7: Worship Music (2011)
    #6: For All Kings (2016)
#5: Sound of White Noise (1993)
    #4: Persistence of Time (1990)
    #3: State of Euphoria (1988)
    #2: Among the Living (1987)
    #1: Spreading the Disease (1985)
As you can see, I'm a pretty big fan of the Joey Belladonna era of Anthrax. He's one of my all time favorite metal vocalists and frontmen. I can't tell you how many videos I've seen of Anthrax playing live, and just watching how much fun the band has on stage and how they get the crowd energized with them. I've never seen a band do it better than Anthrax. I want to see this band live so badly, you don't even know.

Good list, I would switch Fistful with Among, and the rest can go in the trash.. Anthrax's been silly and Stupid since Spreading but Among has some good thrash but it was all downhill from there.. And, John Bush only sounds good in Armored Saint, remember the cd where he sung all of Joeys songs and Scott Ian said that's the way the songs should sound, which was painfully bad.. Then he shit all over it in a magazine to get Joey back.. Scott and Anthrax are in the big bore of thrash..The Germans did it way better then and are still doing it today..

My favourite has always been spreading the disease, I like the way it blends classic rock with thrash, I don't think any thrash album really blends those 2 styles as well as Spreading the disease, also lone justice has to be the most underrated Anthrax song ever and probably Frank's best bass riff he's ever wrote

They're not so straightforward thrash, and many consider Persistence Of Time to be *the first* Anthrax thrash release. Anthrax especially bullied by *brutal fans* of thrash (yknow those guys that replace Anthrax with Exodus in Big 4) because of their music direction from 1994 to 1999.

Very interesting list dude, never seen people put persistence of time and state of euphoria this low, i've only heard people that hold them in quite high regard. Great to see that you didn't pile up all the thrashfest at the top and showed respect for the groovy stuff.

    • @nemesis8626

Its interesting that the first album you listened to was a John Bush era one. I think where fans of music enter a timeline in the middle of a bands career it's really going to influence your whole out look on what somebody likes or dislikes about them.
The first album I heard was state of euphoria and to put in to perspective, this was around 89/90 and I transitioned to thrash from guns n roses, motley crue, skid row etc etc. I think its important as if somebody enters the arena late, they arn't gonna really feel the tug of nostalgia and the rich diversity of music and how it was marketed and shared and how difficult it was to get stuff. I like all the albums equally but would probably say that Stomp 442 is too rocky. I really like persistance of time but more for the maturity of the music and sound. We've come for you all has some really enjoyable drum work and I really like the first half of the album but second half is a bit too happy/rocky. I never get why Caught in a mosh was so popular..thats my ode to controversy. Good video, thanks.

After those 4 I can go either way on some of them, "Worship Music" is my favorite of the later material. I really didn't care for "State of Euphoria" for a long time, but as time goes on I am liking it more and more. "Fistful of Metal" has quite a bit of charm, it's certainly a good album but not up to par with the stuff they released after it. Sound of White Noise is and always will be their best album.

My favorite is Persistence of Time followed by Worship Music.
Among the Living is overrated as fuck! Top 5 at best.

Let's be honest. Anthrax barely to be considered a thrash band. It is too unique and has many sides. It has so many to look for. I mean there is no album that sounds the same, and there are really some interesting stuff. I prefer thinking Anthrax were doing something they enjoy and something way off the genres. Just all the albums in the middle of this list showing you that (from the Sound to Worship). And some of their stuff is actually catchy to listen which is not so common in Metal. I Mostly agree with Questy's opinion on ranking.

Bro its basically crossover thrash band. Thats why they are in big 4. They represent the crossover scene.

In my opinion. Anthrax are the most underrated of the big 4

    • @richboutin4044

How is any band in the top 4 underrated? It’s pretty universal that Anthrax is #4 in that group, so which of the other 3 are they better than? If anything, they are overrated. Better than testament or Exodus? No.
