I don't know what it is but Denim and Leather has an extra charm that puts it above the other S tiers albums imo

Saxon are one of the best metal bands period. 24 albums, and there’s only four albums of theirs I personally dislike. My top 5;

Saxon are one of the most legendary metal bands of all time. They don’t have a bad album and here is how I’d rank them:
S - Wheels of Steel, Denim and Leather, Lionheart, The Inner Sanctum, Battering Ram, Carpe Diem, Hell Fire and Damnation
A - Strong Arm of the Law, Solid Ball of Rock, Unleash the Beast, Into the Labyrinth, Call to Arms, Sacrifice, Thunderbolt
B - Self-titled, Power & the Glory, Crusader, Destiny, Metalhead, Killing Ground
C - Innocence Is No Excuse, Rock the Nations, Forever Free, Dogs of War

Their American rock sounding albums are pretty shite. One with "ride like the wind" and onward.

Saxon is one of my fav bands! I’m also putting their albums in tiers rather than a list ranking, so here goes:

A+ Tier:
Carpe Diem, Metalhead, Thunderbolt, The Inner Sanctum, Solid Ball of Rock

Power & the Glory, Forever Free, Destiny

I absolutely love Saxon. 79-88 is my favorite period of the band. Innocence is No Excuse is actually my favorite album. Its a bit more melodic but i love it. Broken Heroes one of my favorites. I have about 60 Saxon and a few Oliver-Dawson Saxon cds in my collection. More than anything else. Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath and maybe Uriah Heep come close.

Check out Wheels of Steel, that album is a banger too.
For modern Saxon, I would suggest the Inner Sanctum, which is my favourite from their post-2000 era.

Think you're on to something. A lot of metalheads are quite nerdy nowadays and lacking in testosterone. This is the only metal channel that's bearable. Other metal channels are hosted by boring soy boy geeks.

What is the bulshit? Destiny D?? DESTINY is the best Saxon album to date. After that it is a INNOCENCE IS NO EXCUSE! What a stupid selection! But about taste is no discussion.
