    Hey dude! Great video as always - I’m putting this job off while I work up the courage to take a look at my carbon deposits… 😄
    Just a small tip, if you permit - the tabs on the hoses to the cam covers are made to be squeezed on the sides, and they’ll expand where they hook the lip. Then you can slide them off without prying with a screwdriver and breaking the tabs. 👍🙌
    Keep the vids coming - they’re always super helpful!

      Thanks for the feedback and thanks for the tip. I really appreciate. I will try that next time!

      I just remembered that this method is the one I tried the first time I was attempting to disconnect the breather hose and it was unsuccessful. I ended up using the flathead screwdriver and kept using it. Do you think it did not work because of age or because I did not proceed properly?

    • @gsommerfeldt
      @gsommerfeldt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kokouvia Hmm… probably because of age - plastic does get brittle over time. It still works on mine, but maybe I have to break out the screwdriver too in a while. :) Try with the new one and see if it works with that one. 👍🙂

      @@gsommerfeldt I will for sure. I think I am going to make a video just about this. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

      @@Kokouvia One tip to help with removing these clips is to use a hose clamp of the right diameter with the screw section cut off. You can then slide the hose clamp under the retaining mechanism/clip of the PCV hose and voila, the clips are spaced away from the valve cover barb and you can remove the fitting.

      @@Kokouvia Yes, I have seen you starting new series of video clips on A7. Just not have enough energy to digest and dig into it. I am pretty sure things from you are getting excited. Maybe I need to consider buying and following your A7 journey. Currently I am still struggling on carb cleaning.... Cheers.

      @@ot156 Sorry about that. Carbon deposits on the back of the intake valve is fortunately not a problem on the Audi A7 from NA MY 2016. When I removed the lower intake, the back of the valves were clean 👌🏾 and this at 147,000 miles. This is great! Check this out when you get some time: th-cam.com/video/NexR6OUW8JE/w-d-xo.html

    Good job. My job number 1 on list. But i decided to make modification on pcv. Adding oil catch can because original pcv sistem not catching 100% of oil.

    • @Kokouvia
      @Kokouvia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is true that the default PCV system will not catch all the oil. An oil catch can would help catch more oil and impurities but can't do the PCV system's job which filters that mess and reroute oil into the crankcase. Furthermore it will not prevent the formation of carbon deposits. With a direct injection engine, carbon cleaning will always be needed at some point.

    • @pauliusu
      @pauliusu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kokouvia agree with you.
      By da way. Main oil separator cooler in the car gets clogged to and i think thats why pcv gets malfunction off separating oil and gasses. On TH-cam some Russians was taking that aluminium cover where separator sits. It was hole build up with soot and gunk.

      @@Kokouvia can the PCV Valve itself or a broken pipe cause a high amount of oil leaking to the point where the car is dripping oil every time it stands for more than 2-3 Hours?
      I have this problem right now and i am suspecting that my mechanic broke this part.
      Under the Intake Manifold there is a lot of oil collecting, and it is dripping down on the transmission and falling on the ground that way.

    damn it’s like you predict what I have to do in my a6 3.2 ;) I need to do that job asap too. I have a broken hose near passenger valve cover. It is “taped” with electrical tape for now but I’m pretty sure that it is not 100% hermetic. Do you think that it can be causing some power loss or some kind of problems? I have seen that you recently posted acceleration video - is it improved because of this job? great video! it will make this job a piece of cake ;) thanks!

    • @Kokouvia
      @Kokouvia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is definitely not a good thing to have a leak in the system. About the acceleration, my next video will explain everything. 😉

    Yes, they are kinds of breeder hoses, you have the first generation. (You're Oil Separator if different as well)
    I have the 2nd generation, mine broke as well, original replacement was $300, I bought a $80 knok off one, the original one has the ends (the ones going into valve covers) squarish... Same as yours, what I've bought are round, much easier to get them off, anyway... They we're fine, but the one that goes into the upper intake manifold, didn't fit, so I swapped with the one from my old one, as that part of the hose was fine...
    Works even today.
    As for your connectors are as follow:
    Gray: 1J0 973 723 G
    Green: 8E0 973 703 B
    If you can't find the green one, just buy to Gray and Mark the green one somehow.
    Quite easy to replace them.

    I did this replacement but it didn’t fit in as smooth as your one did. It was bought from China….now my car won’t start and says oil pressure. Do you believe I fitted the incorrect hose and this is my issue ?
