This is a Burmese Buddhist temple, aesthetic wise is quite different from Chinese or Thai Buddhist temple. I stumble upon it visiting ZhongShan museum. If I recalled correctly, The house was owned by great grandfather of SM Teo Chee Hean who used it to host Dr Sun, founder and first President of modern China who overthrew the Qing dynasty made plans in that house, and whose party lost the China civil war to the communist and fled to Taiwan and “founded Taiwan”. I was pretty intrigued too to find out that such important historical events happened there when I visited the house.
Hi, i was watching your video again. Nice video indeed. Temple and Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. I've been to the colonial house, it's nice to learnt historical story over there. But the temple never been there before. Looks very interesting temple. I went to Kong Meng Shan Temple at Bishan. Its huge. Nornally during Vesak day people will go there. Diverse culture... Well i taught America is more diverse or other country. That's my comment. 😊☺️

Hi Kamo Koala, Singapore culture seems just as diverse as in U.S. America, just with a stronger asian influence. I read somewhere that approx 90% of the world's population believes in a god. But in the U.S., it seems like a coin toss. Your monk video was fascinating. Thanks for sharing your travels. 🙏
Hello Sow, thanks for your comment. what is Kamo? 90% of population? wow that's a lot. i think SG is very diverse, probably that's why i can live there after traveling around the world
@@TheKrazyKoala Hi Koala, It's really suppose to be Camo, short for camoflauge, since you wore a camo shirt throughout most of the video. But Kamo matches better with Koala. 😊 90% is a relatively old statistic. Btw, what are your thoughts regarding De-Dollarization, World Reserve Currency Shift, and the significance of the 2017/2024 Solar eclipses?
No, it’s not just as diverse as in US. Not even close. Most of the immigrants to SG that it attracts are from Malaysia, and smaller numbers of Chinese and Indians who have given up on trying for the West.
@@TrumponSoaksUpRedno, that is immigration patterns of recent decades. We are very diversed! You will be surprised that there are Japanese living in Singapore even before British colonial era. Their descendants are still here , looking much like Singaporean Chinese to the uninitiated. Also, there are the Peranakans, whom also look just like Singaporean Chinese but have a very distinctive cultural heritage. Even with our Malays , there are Javanese, boyanese, bugis to orang lauts, distinctive language to bloodline, but many foreigners do not know the differences as they skim around Singapore on the surface. Even amongst the majority Singaporean Chinese, we are very different from one dialect group to the other, different food, different practices and different native language. As for immigration history, people from all over the world are here and married into local families. In my predominantly Singaporean Chinese family alone, we have generations of English, polish, Japanese, Malay and Indian bloodline. And we look like Chinese to strangers.
History provides a country the continuity of culture, where its roots began. History can bond the people together with a common destiny. Each generation should strive to improve over the previous generation. Hence every country should have a museum to show case how the country has progressed.
