I had already ordered one b4 watching ur vids and being a main dealer mechanic for 30 odd years in the UK using main dealer diagnostic equipment i wanted better for work i do at home than i already have, gotta say all the vids on TH-cam do not go into as much depth as urself ur vids are fantastic and in depth, keep it up mate great job.

Finest scanner I have ever owned. It's different from yours but I totally agree with everything you said.
The software has been upgraded so many times that it's like having a completely new scanner.
It's worth the money, hands down. 👌
The weirdest thing I have saw with it was, it told me a door speaker power wire had a open issue when I was replacing a abs sensor on uncles truck, i confirmed that the speaker didn't work. Just awesome,
For the price, this is the best scan tool on the market right now and has been for the past 2 years.

All the different models will drive you nuts. Then add in topdon vs launch vs kingbolen vs autel.
True. I can say this is the top tier Launch product and is updated nearly every day. It also has a very modern tablet with Android 10 running behind it. Some of the Autels are still using Android 4 !!

I have been told that these tools have pretty terrible customer support and that Launch Tech USA does not support them. Is this what you have experienced. I have also heard if you do not renew the tool it will shut down certain functions. Also looking if it will cover McLaren's for basic maintenance resets another diagnostic work.

You need to use Kingbolen tech support not eh Launch USA- I am not sure about the McLaurens- You don't need to have a subscription for it to work. I hope that helps
Mine absolutely shut off most of the features and functions when I did not renew. It now wont do ANY live data streams on any modules and all of the special functions quit working. Dont make my mistake and dont buy a launch. They cost more to renew than the name brand tools.

Do you have to upgrade when your 2 years is up? Can you just use what already comes with it like other scanner?
No. I have a Launch that hasn't been updated in years and it still works fine. It just doesn't update to 2024/5 cars.
How ta find wiring diagram in there (x431 pro3s+)
Not available if I remember correctly. Identifix, Alldata and Michell all have it.

Im not big into Lauch, but I did what I though was a brake reset, now have no hand brake and dash says in Brake test rig mode, can't seem to find away out of it, can you help please?
You need to go back into the system and reactivate the brake reset. Then do it again to reset the module to normal mode. It still thinks your doing the brakes.

I find it to be more comprehensive than my Autel, and faster as well.
Hi i have the same Tablet with the smartlink c for HD models ...do you maybe know how to do a programing on ECM, on DPF system?
Yes. You don't really say what kind of programming, but under there are ways to turn on and off options on your car with this tool. I activated Cruise and Fog lights with mine.
Did you have any problems with it being a global not USA serviced . I just ordered it but many say they couldn’t get it to operate because it wouldn’t accept their code ect . Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just received a "global" model. So far, I'm actually able to do way more with my xtool D7S! And Mall is stating the renewal is over $800 😮

Why would you do that, rolling back the odometer is illegal.
I don't know basically I just watched TH-cam and someone was showing odometer correction.
I've had trouble with mine, when I go to update the software, it will not let me select new version without paying money. I've called them and no go.
Is the unit used? Mine expires next month. Once the original subscription runs out, yes you will have to pay to renew it. They run about $350 a year here.

Your software must have expired. They are free for 2 years then after that its cheaper to buy the tool again rather than update. Mine just expired on my X431 V, $520 to update for a year and 850 to update for 2 years

@sheerwillsurvival2064 nope, I was only able to update the software for a year. Not 2, I've called everyone I could and have hit a wall everywhere. I was told the description was wrong and only had a 1 year free update. I will never buy another launch product.
does this work with electric cars ? can it code for example module on ioniq 5 hyundai ?
You have me on that one. I don't do a lot of diag work on electrics. Mostly tires and some suspension. Sorry!

Hmm. I'll have to look. I think it was under Android settings, or it may have popped up after updating Android.

If bought on the tool, they are around $600 a year. If you go to the Kingbolen website, it's about 1/2 that. You can also buy renewal cards for these other places for even less. I paid $315 for 1 year.
Does this work on light duty diesel pickups?
Yes, GM, Ford and Dodge all are covered for their Diesel applications.
Is the Google Play store unlocked? The older X431 units didn’t allow access to the Play store.
Yes! I was able to add a bunch of automotive apps to this one from the playstore.
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs Thank you for your reply! My X431 ProS Mini is up for renewal ($399 for 1 year) so I might just upgrade to the latest (and larger) Pro3S+ Elite since it’s $1049 and has two years updates.
Have a question before I buy one of these. Question is once your 2 year free update is gone does the scan tool still work on older cars without having to buy updates ?
Yes, I can confirm that it will continue to work fine after the sub ends.

That was not my experience. It will now only look at codes and reset them. I lost all live data, and all of the special functions went away. It is a 30 dollar parts store tool if you dont pay the ransom when it expires.
Which one do you think is better, launch or xtool d9s, which one do you recommend? Enjoy looking for one.
I have found that Launch is a better tool than Autel or Xtool.
