That sounds like a heat shield that is loose. Lay flat next to the car when it's off and see if there is a thin piece of metal touching the exhaust. They can be safely removed.

Not sure what to tell you on that one as I am not there. Power off the unit and the car and then try it again?

Follow exactly what I do here in this video with the marks and it won't matter if it moves. You'll have your marks to line it back up.

Its just that some says it should be turned left before the marks and - sorry but i got confused about it all, and who dosent wanna make it right the first time ? I did what i use to do in my 30 years as a mechanic . made my own marks with the cams locked , its just that whell and all the opinions that makes me confused . i Follow this and cross my fingers - an old car 22 years, but i absolutely love it . except when my wife drives it and the plastic for the coolant hose to cabin breaks and she decide to drive even 5 more minutes or so EVEN if the car says STOP EMIDIETLY !!! women and old cars.....you spend the same amount on money on both !!!

No. the X-431 Pro S3 does.

It's a disc, but the image of that disc can be found online. Sadly they no longer support the unit so keep that in mind.

Mine is missing and the guy I bought it from isn't sure, which one is the right one (he has a box full of chargers). I'm assuming something like 12 - 15 V DC, center positive, but I'm not sure and don't want to fry my tool. I can charge the battery using a lab power supply, but a power brick would be a bit more convenient. Thx.

Super Beetle has a McPherson strut front suspension instead of the “beam” design that a regular Beetle has, allowing the spare tire to lay flat in the “frunk” and providing more space for groceries, luggage, ect. ‘71 & ‘72 Supers had a flat windshield, beginning in ‘73 they had a curved one increasing passenger compartment space.

I remember when the Super Beetle arrived. My ‘68 bug had a 1500 cc engine.

The engine size is the same, but the car is MUCH improved. Better suspension, better front window, better dash, better crash protection, bigger trunk. The list goes on, but the 73/74 Super Beetles are the best to own for sure.

@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs I have a memory of driving my Beetle to a rock concert in New York City in 1978 during a snow storm. The car was great in the snow, but snow was blowing into the car through the defroster. The sound and feel of the car when I drove it was something I'll never forget. It was my first car, I bought it in college. I paid $400 for it.

I have no idea what you are talking about, so it's hard to comment. I can say that I'm no in year 7 of nearly daily commercial use and have still had no issues.

@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs It is possible that your teeth are more sharp than mine. Excessive use of a casting mold is apparent. Here is how you test this. Put your unweighted lift up. Knock over the pump so the hydraulic fitting snaps at the top-heavy pump. Watch it go to the floor. Notice how HF does not sell this anymore?

@@urgentcareguy3 HF still sells this. They have had 2 runs so far this year with one finishing up 2 weeks ago. When they sell out, they delist it from their website. As for your "failure", you failed to preform a basic safety check of the locking mechanism. That is something that needs to be done daily. We have to do it to all the lifts at work, no matter who makes them. I can see why no one cares about the issue you are complaining about. You failed to maintain your unit, then acted carelessly around a deadly piece of equipment causing a second failure. Sounds like Darwin was trying to hand you an award. If you don't know anything about working with automotive lifts, DON'T BUY A LIFT! Everyday here in the USA techs are squashed or badly injured by every make and model of 2,4, and scissor lift out there. All it takes is skipping a step, or failing to show the unit all the respect it deserves.

You likely had sticking rings. The MMO freed them up causing your compression to raise up while also fixing the oil burning issue. Win win! Higher compression = better milage.

@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs it got better mileage the first 4,000 miles, before I added MMO. The oil burning stopped but the mileage decreased.

Did you mark the gear like I showed in this video? If so, you can still time it to true TDC. if not, you are right how can you know where TDC is with movable cams?
