The Kingbolen K7. A budget scan tool with Bi-directional controls?!?
มุมมอง 37214 วันที่ผ่านมา
Much like the Otofix I reviewed last month, this Kingbolen K7 is packed with high end features at a budget price. I'm finding it hard to classify it as a mid-level scanner when clearly it can do pro level work. You can get one here: amzn.to/407OyIy

Great video...except that bloody carpet disturbing the view ;) :))
I read in a review on Amazon under Launch Elite that after purchasing it you need to purchase separate software module for each car to work on them and the lifetime free update mentioned is just for the base software. Is this true?
No. That is a lie. The subscription covers everything, and renewals do as well. Launch USA pays folks to write bogus reviews as Global Launch products cost 1/3rd and work just as good.
@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs Thanks so much for the reply.
I own a 2023 g4 with 15,000 miles and I LOVE it 36-38 city 40-45 highway
This work with a Nissan patrol NATS system, in Australia?
Looks like the case will be needed for all those gadgets.
I got the xtool d8s great device Xtool makes great stuff
Do you know what laptop software is used for jeep?
Great product used it for years
SPIDER BRO!!! 18:37 runnin down the peg board and under the wall. I hope you didn't have to burn it all down after this video!!! lol good video though. I am currently thinking about getting this item from my local HF as I have been updating my garage and need a good workbench. thanks for your insight. in november 2024 it's $ 119
I got owned a 2017 model mirage hatchback, this little car is invincible a very good small car, until now not even a single problem brought this car to me, a fast and durable car that I had.
What would you suggest for a new tech repair person starting out repairing older Vehicles.1980s to earmy 2000s...IE:: Honda, Toyota, Nissan, GMC, Chevy, Ford, etc
sorry about your house.
I'm looking at buying a scan tool and I have 99 f350, 15 f350, 08 tacoma, 02 sequoia and am getting a big delivery truck something like a 08 freightliner mt45 or similar. I'd like a scann tool that will cover the range of vehicles I have and I know everything is obd2 besides the bigger delivery trucks which 8s a round plug.
thank you for sharing, does the truck hold a spare tire in the under carriage?
I have a Nissan Kicks, same transmission, and it also gets good gas mileage. My highest has been 48.5 MPG.
so I assume based on part of the video, you have less than 40K miles on it ? My 2015 Honda Fit has 117,000 and the interior is perfect. It has a 1.5L 4 cylinder that has 130 HP. I get 32-40 mpg . I have a rear camera and side camera. I also have a sunroof. If this makes it to 150K miles then I will be impressed. I am glad you like it, I will never buy a 3 cylinder engine. Even my new 1991 Ford Escort had 88HP ( 4 cyl ) and got 40mpg. Per KBB - A 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage has depreciated $4,727 in the last 3 years and has a current resale value of $6,641 and trade-in value of $4,400. My 2015 Fit is worth around 8K and a trade in of 6000 with 117K miles. ( although they are listed for 10-11K around me. )
6:50 well fart… with the seat covers, rubber foot wells, and steering wheel covers they guy is brand new
2:46 when you respect car, car respects you…
Are any of those mid-level tools capable of doing a crankshaft position sensor relearn?
What lift is that?
$1400 6000lb scissor lift from Harbor Freight they no longer sell.
It is still sold on ebay and amazon. Just search for mid-rise scissor lift, and many pop up. Great lift!
I have a Foxwell NT301. I've had it since they came out new. No issues with it; been a good tool. I'm thinking to upgrade to a Foxwell NT650 (that's within my budget). I need to be able to reset steering angle for one, but I really need it to be able to learn an Electronic Throttle Body to Electronic Gas Pedal of the same year and all, totally compatible. I've been having a very hard time with Electronic Throttle Bodies lately. I can't get the Idle down to normal... Will the Foxwell NT650 make it possible to fix these issues with Idle?
I bought a pair. Please show how you adjust them.
I bought a 2017 new 5 speed se, rear seats have no cushion to sit on
Really? was it a contractor edition or something?
It's the best bang for your buck car cheaper than most stuff from gm or Chrysler and twice as reliable
Agreed! Still love ours for sure.
Erik, the performance difference that the engine and transmission upgrade offers should be interesting to explore. The nice highway gearing would be fun for freeway cruising, in any case :)
That is my hope!
Nice to see another B12 fan. When I was using a lot of the UltraSlick assembly lube, I once was asked by my mother why I was bleeding so badly as my hands were covered in that lube. I am a little concerned about the random romex randomly routed down through the middle of the shelves.
That romex was there when I moved in. No sharp objects around there for sure!
Great to be able to watch someone doing a job before I tackle it myself. Especially as I normally work on Motorcycles 😁Thank you!
Glad to help!
Been using it since the 90s in my cars and motorcycles. Definitely worth the money.
Agreed! I've been using it since 1986.
Berrymans calls it H.E.S.T. "High Energy Solvent Technology". They recommend 1 ounce per gallon of fuel. The cans are like 15 oz, so I pour what I need in an old Techron 32 ounce bottle, then go with their recommended mix. My push mower started surging, I put a double mix in it, second tank of it cleared it up. My vehicles get the Berryman mix once or twice a year, no issues.
It is good for small engines as well. Carbs are always getting gummed up and this can de-gum it.
What about ac delco top cleaner?
I've never tried that one. Sorry!
Love your mom❤️
I do!
A nice and potentially useful camera, Erik. The kitty for sure, yet it looks like some the thought went into improving the setup of it. A good one to have, clearly :)
It's a lot better to use than my older one for sure.
mmo has been around forever n it works great
Agreed! A lot of stuff comes and goes. But this stuff is good enough to last for 100 years!
mmo is not goin anywhere it will be around for another 100 yrs it's prove the stuff works@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs
Are there any other things to look out for or pay attention to? I just bought an S60, needs a new battery, but I’ve never changed one on a car like this and don’t know if there’s anything else that I need to pay attention to. Or do I just take it out, put the new one in and that’s it?
That's it! You should be fine.
After you have installed the belt and tensioner properly, it is recommended to put the top cover on and visually inspect your timing marks, then phe crankshaft pully nut in the crank shaft, then using a 30mm socket and large ratchet, turn the crankshaft at least two turns to make sure that the timing marks continue to line back up and there is no binding of the crank or cam shafts. This will give you confidence to eventually fire up the engine without having a disaster.
Yup! But if you've marked everything like shown in this video it won't be needed.
Who in the world use quart? How muvh in litres?
I guess it is an American thing- I think it is roughly the same but don't quote me on that one
I live in Winston NC. have been donating and have had friends and family visit wNC almost every weekend to help where ever possible. I’m sorry to you and everyone affected and pray for recovery.
Thank you for the support- There are so many people that really can use the help
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs how has your “global” launchs worked out for you? I am looking at some on Amazon. But I have heard of some issues with update, support and software glitchs. Have you noticed or had any problems with yours. I’ve been tossing up the topdon smart, the icont10 and the pro 3s on Amazon.
Your pro 3s is that the “globally” sold launch like you would purchase from Amazon? If so I was wondering if you experienced any of the rumors I hear about the Amazon launchs like poor customer support, glitchs, software update issues? Thanks
Yes it's the Global edition from Kingbolen. Don't believe these mysterious issues that they have. It's a paid scam from Launch USA to convince you to pay 3X for the same tool. Owned my Pro 3S+ for 5 years and never had an issue. Renewals are less too!
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs sounds great thank you

does the launch X431 correlate cam an crank sensors on GM5.7(199) ? great video! Thanks.
Yup!
Super neat camera
I think so too!
👍
Thank you
Looks just like my Depstech borescope. But a hundred dollars cheaper. The bore size fits through injector tip hole in our dt466e, so probably a ford 7.3 diesel too.
I am really liking it!
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs love mine too
I'm surprised at how many shops and mechanics don't have one of the fancier scan tools. I suspect it's cause they are afraid of the technology. Anyhow, I'm just a videographer by trade and I bought an Xtool D7 since I have 5 vehicles and I seem to be the person all my friends come to for help on their cars. I've only owned it for 6 months but it has already paid for itself many times over. For example, I was able to diagnose an issue on my 97 GMC Savana that wasn't throwing a code, but live data helped my figure it out. My 2011 Hyundai Equus has had the ECS light on for months, needing its air ride suspension recalibrated. I was able to do the calibration myself, saving myself hundreds of dollars vs going to the dealer cause no mechanic knew how to calibrate the air suspension. There are more examples. Ohh, I just purchased a used Audi last week and I brought my Xtool D7 to read codes. 1 thing it saw that I wouldn't have noticed saved me a bunch of money. The passenger seat heating element was faulty. You can press the buttwarmer button to turn it on, just that it doesn't heat up. And every time I looked at the car, it was warm/hot out, so I wouldn't have noticed it wasn't actually heating. But my scan tool noticed! I still bought the car, the dealer ordered a new seat for it. I've never used any other fancy scanner, but I love this Xtool D7. Zero regrets.
It is shocking that techs still fear tech! As you've learned, these things are worth it!
People who bashed this car for being simple always sounded like snobby food critics bashing some small town diner for only offering basic meals. GTFOH what did you expect?
I love this comment, I could not agree more
I just bought brand new 2024 mitsubushi mirage and love it!
I am glad that you love yours, these cars are fantastic
I have an old can from AutoZone. I still have a little left. Price 2.87 for 1qt. Not sure what year… maybe early 90’s
That same 1qt has almost tripled in price depending on where you buy it. I don't think it goes bad
I wish they still sold this!
I keep looking for it to come back,I hope so too
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs ultimately the factory that put these out still makes them but now they have a higher price point sold by bend pack, quick lifts, snappy (titan and tuxedo now I think) etc. be nice to see a Daytona one on the shelves. But at the price these are now it’s probably a better bet to get a 2 post lift. You can find them in good shape used for $500-700 on marketplace. I don’t have the space for that though.
