@@GamerThumbTV iirc the problem with it is that its PC port optimization is so bad that it runs like ass no matter how good your PC is, and it even refuses to run right out the box, you actually need to spend a lot of time changing settings just to get it to run. i liked the first one, but that was before the games had become its own universe, so it was an adaptation never thinking it would get a sequel. after the first one, they should have just rebooted to follow the games more closely.
Yeah seriously, I would love for the first two to be a movie... Then they can do sequels to expand the idea...I used to think it was dumb how they had like random leech monsters until I started watching these. It's so well told and actually makes a lot of sense. I always told myself that If I won the lottery I'd use it to fund a red hot chili peppers/John frusciante movie and a resident evil movie...and if I do I'll pay you whatever you want to help the writers put the story together giving you creative control cuz you'd make a killer resident evil movie
Yeah it can be a bit much with all the stuff they keep trying to add in. I'd been happier if they had just stuck with a more simple story overall but with better continuity. Sometimes less is more.
I went brain dead for a minute there after i found out that the chapters from the game RE Outbreak arent in order. Now it madr sense why the storyline of that game doesnt make any sense. Ch.1 was in the bar then ch.2 was the underground umbrella lab, ch.3 was the hotel etc. It all made sense now
It makes everything that came after it feel so much smaller when you put all together. While stuff like the village of shadows happens NOTHING compares to Raccoon City accumulatively shit had the city almost destroyed before Leon and Claire even got there.
Lmao.. I know right! No matter how old you are I’d be attempting to hold you right there considering what is going on, let alone a little girl… Oh yeah she just passed me and she’s going to a park to have a good time.. Hilarious!
Rhetorical question 1: why is this "movie" put together by a youtuber soooo much better than the live action movies? Real question: why would anyone ever even think of changing this awesome story?!
RE2 is literally around the corner so I wanted to go on a nostalgia trip beforehand... this entire series has me gripped by the balls, it's extremely well made and shows plot lines in parallel to what we would normally see as a player my only regret? not finding this channel sooner, i'm truly impressed with the amount of detail not to mention quality which went into making these videos. My hat comes off to you sir, well played
@@mase8444 My apologies mate, been mad busy Capcom for me absolutely nailed this remake, and I have a hard time calling this RE2 a "remake" because it's so much more then that What they've done, again this is from personal experience.. is re-capture the same exact moments which were forever ingrained in my mind from the original game in 1998.. without spoiling it, those key moments for me from the original were the Interrogation Room / Red Gem stone room, the re-imagined first encounter with the Licker and of course Mr.X.. Capcom nailed these details perfectly RE2 has a well balanced pacing mechanic, which keeps things fresh.. if the game understands you're having no problems, then it'll introduce more zombies to deal with. If the player gets overwhelmed, it does a good job of throttling back the threats giving them a chance to escape etc but not too much so the game becomes easy mode. The sound track plays a significant part in how well the atmosphere is perceived, it sounds incredible with a headset.. the ambient noises heard throughout the RPD especially. Although sometimes I felt the overly intense music kicking in for a couple of zombies was a bit dramatic.. it wasn't long before I switched the Audio out with the original score for personal preference Gameplay wise, I love it.. with RE2 I'm OCD about conserving ammo, so for me I don't normally kill off zombies I'd just stun them and run past. This can obviously lead to some interesting encounters later on if I'm being chased by Mr.X but again, that's just how I choose to play haha I could go on a lot longer but one things for sure, since RE3 will be the last title to be remade.. I'm genuinely looking forward to see what Capcom have in store for it as they clearly made an impression with this one. If they handle the Nemesis like they have Mr.X.... good times
When you realize how much people basically fucked the city over making plans over plans. Seriously the outbreak the EMP shit no wonder Raccoon City fell so hard.
After all the horrors lived in Raccoon City one cannot help but feel sorry for them all when it's wiped out, as Jill escapes, the army general lowers his head in discontent and Kevin watches from a distance, trying to digest it all. Tragic.

I was really curious how you would handle Resident Evil Outbreak in this and I think you pulled it off extremely well. Was really coool to see this part probably more than any other, having so many characters doing so many things all around the same time. Extremely well edited video, amazing stuff.
Some give a bit of indication as to when they happen (The Hive taking place before Carlos arrives and if I remember correctly you can find Leon in Below Freezing Point).
@@thydungeonman26 It's actually easier if you fry it. Another way to get those lamp posts down is to shoot it by holding R2 instead of R1. Jill will automatically aim for the lamp posts in the same way she would if there was an oil barrel present in the street and you were to hold R2 instead of R1. The worm dies instantly if it is fired with electricity. The easiest weapon to use here is with the shotgun loaded with enhanced ammo. If you've been mixing the gun powder C for shotguns shells, you should have the enhanced ammo at this point. Aim with R2 and shoot. The enhanced ammo's recoil will push Jill backwards and it's spread should hit the lamp post.
"And now we have a rather unfortunate turn of events. It seems that the President and the Federal Council have passed judgement over the civilians of Raccoon City. The President and Federal Council have ruled that the Bacillus Terminate operation... is the best course of action for this extreme situation and have since... executed it. Based on that fact, Raccoon City has been literally wiped off the map. Current reports have the death toll surpassing the 100,000 mark. Our hearts go out to those poor civilians... of Raccoon City." This cutscene still gives me chills even to this day
This is crazy detailed. Like Even when I'm home I throw this up on the big screen and watch it. My wife looks at me weird but great story telling man.. Keep it up.
Man, that Raccoon City Incident caused by Umbrella was one of the craziest events in video game history. And to think all this happened and started in a small mountain community.
Wait.. they expect me to believe leon didnt know what he was heading into after news reports, military deployments, wrecked government helicopters, basically a warzone atmosphere with gun shots ringing throughout the city from heavy machine guns, and he and Claire just roll up like nothing is going on?
I have the same problem with opperation raccoon city. Resident evil 2 reminds me of children of the corn, sudden outbreak kills almost everyone in town, clair and leon show up without prior knowledge and have to figure things out. Makes the game seem isolated and intimate. Opperation raccon city's ballooning of the scale of the involvement of umbrella just makes leon look stupid. At least clair might sneak in to save her brother, but leons reason for being there is him being oblivious.
Keep in mind that stuff like smart phones didn't exist back then and most people where still dependent on a phone wired into a wall. this was a time when people had to go out of their way to watch the news on TV or catch them by accident on the radio and given that this was leons first day at the job, it's also very well possible that he was unemployed prior, in crippling debt and may not even have had a TV. this certainly wouldn't work nowdays where there would be videos of people geting eaten by zombies up on twitter before any cops are informed, but back in the nineties things where different.
@@alexs7670 plus Leon and Clair getting cornered back to the city is jack shit when they made it out on a rail, in a desert, where the US military also barricaded due to the rails suspicious connection to Racoon City. They took Leon, Claire and Sherry back to base and was interogated, where Leon was hired for his experience, Claire continued her search for Chris and ended up infiltrating an Umbrella lab which jumped started the event of CV, and Sherry was sent to a relative until she met Leon again in RE6.
@@DOT107 lol leon just drives his jeep into town and misses all the barricades and has no clue whats going on. Doesn't see any helicopters or fires, just a quiet town. At least the remake has ignored opperation racoon city completely. Outbreak 1 and 2 do a pretty good job of expanding the events of the racoon city outbreak without making the event a national emergency.
I appreciate the way resident evil strives to show a certain event from so many different angles. All these things happening in racoon city intertwined yet entirely their own story. It really is fun even if it can be a bit convoluted
Well, more than being shocked about Kevin saving everybody, I'm surprised that they actually defied the zombie stories logic by making the cute blonde and the black guy in the group survive until the end. By the way, I'm glad the bartender survives.
GamerThumbTV to be fair raccoon City was arguably the worst outbreak that happened to the world. Not only did you have +100000 deaths but it also set the stage for every other outbreak to happen after. The only other outbreaks that hold a candle to raccoon city are the events of resident 6, if you go by casualties.
@DutchPlayss yeah it has been confirmed, but with several changes. There was an old article back in like 06, or 07. I couldnt find it, but dev's said most of Claire A/Leon B is cannon. I remember them mentioning that basically both stories are happening at the same time, so any moments where they would be in the same place technically has different outcomes that isnt shown or replaced with Leon A/Claire B if it shows them at a different place. And that any moments where Leon A/Claire B is appropriate falls into the story to
Leon's is disc 1 Claire's disc 2. I don't disagree with the way you told it the story but in the comics and the written book also show Claire getting chased by mr.X because Sherry had the G virus pendant. The reason Capcom is doing the Remake is to retcon the A&B scenarios because everyone chooses which scenario is correct instead of letting Capcom choose the correct scenario
@@GamerThumbTV re6 is great example of quantity over quality with international outbreaks and explosions. but although having shit on that game for years, i actually still appreciate it. (i know im fickle when it comes to that game)

Can we take a second to appreciate how absolutely brave the RPD and UBCS were? Like, in the RPD's case they were literally just cops, who fearlessly stood in the face of zombie horde and fought back until their very last breath. And the UBCS went into it all, knowing fully well how bad it was and still they fought to protect civilians. What a bunch of studs.

Nikholai being a cold blooded merc, eliminated the other supervisors since Umbrella had promised them all bonuses if they reported back to Umbrella with any new information about the bio-weapons they encountered in the city. They also placed a bounty on Jill head. With Nikholai being the only survivor, he had more bargaining power when discussing his bonus. He was never seen again but it might be him just hiding out on his own.
It's actually longer. According to Marvin's Report (RE3) and Emergency Orders A (RE:O) the entire city effectively fell under martial law at around 7pm on 24th September. RE:O File 1 takes place on the 24th September at about 9pm (RE:O File 2 "No Hope" Kevin run). According to the 'Orders' files (RE:O File 2) the mission to kill Thanatos and, ultimately, set up the fight between the survivors and Nyx, this event takes place on October 1st sometime before the missile strikes. If we are to follow this timeline presented in the video, Kevin lasted an entire week within Raccoon City. Basically, he's a badass.
I like how Umbrella went from: "Cover up all traces of us in the city" To: "Deploy even MORE monsters and conduct field tests. Forensic evidence? Investigation? Morris, shut up. We don't pay you to question. We pay you to send out the spooky monsters."

@@mase8444 My apologies mate, been mad busy
Capcom for me absolutely nailed this remake, and I have a hard time calling this RE2 a "remake" because it's so much more then that
What they've done, again this is from personal experience.. is re-capture the same exact moments which were forever ingrained in my mind from the original game in 1998..
without spoiling it, those key moments for me from the original were the Interrogation Room / Red Gem stone room, the re-imagined first encounter with the Licker and of course Mr.X.. Capcom nailed these details perfectly
RE2 has a well balanced pacing mechanic, which keeps things fresh.. if the game understands you're having no problems, then it'll introduce more zombies to deal with.
Although sometimes I felt the overly intense music kicking in for a couple of zombies was a bit dramatic.. it wasn't long before I switched the Audio out with the original score for personal preference
Gameplay wise, I love it.. with RE2 I'm OCD about conserving ammo, so for me I don't normally kill off zombies I'd just stun them and run past. This can obviously lead to some interesting encounters later on if I'm being chased by Mr.X but again, that's just how I choose to play haha
I could go on a lot longer but one things for sure, since RE3 will be the last title to be remade.. I'm genuinely looking forward to see what Capcom have in store for it as they clearly made an impression with this one. If they handle the Nemesis like they have Mr.X.... good times
The Racoon City arc of Resident Evil series is the best arc. And you can't change my mind.

wtf after all the times ive completed RE3 i did not know you could push over the lights to kill the worm. ive never even seen speedrunners do it.
Me neither.
You only push over the lamps in a speed run if you are doing a knife only run. Otherwise it’s faster just to shoot the thing.
i think the reason why it was unknown is because its much faster to shoot that thing with a magnum or freeze rounds of the grenade launcher
Lol XD
Things may be obscured a little bit too much i guess
@@thydungeonman26
It's actually easier if you fry it.

Based on that fact, Raccoon City has been literally wiped off the map. Current reports have the death toll surpassing the 100,000 mark. Our hearts go out to those poor civilians... of Raccoon City." @@GamerThumbTV eh I'll take it. Pretty amazing stuff you are doing btw. Thanks!

@@DOT107 lol leon just drives his jeep into town and misses all the barricades and has no clue whats going on. Doesn't see any helicopters or fires, just a quiet town.
Glad you had Leon do the 2nd Scenario, instead of the 1st. So much better, chronologically. Also: it has the Ada-Leon kiss.

GREAT video! I can’t imagine how long it took to go through all the games, both the awesome and crappy ones, to get all this lore chronologically. Fantastic work
Congrats on the victory, man. I've loved your timeline videos ever since I saw your Castlevania videos. Can't wait for parts 3, 4, and however many more. lol.
This is the most detailed timeline so it is connected to all the story😄😄😄, im very satisfied with the explanation too, thank you
Listen. It’s basically my hobby watching video series like this. This is hands down of the best I’ve seen. You earned yourself a long time subscriber
Hey thank you for that and welcome to the channel
These games were so much more terrifying than the cinema released movies. I was always a big fan of the movies but they really dropped the ball with the actual potential they really had with source material. These timelines really prove that point and have been really entertaining.
So Chris went to Europe, Barry to care of his family, Rebecca went on to do some lab work, Jill stayed behind to keep her eye on RC and nobody gave 2 craps about Brad 😂 oh Brad
Dude died right? Like, at the beginning of the outbreak?

this is so very enjoyable. I remember, as a teenager, I sat and watched my brothers play this series for ever. Been totally blind, I was unable to actually play the games, but I did get a lot of enjoyment out of listening, and helping out with puzzles.
