Have you made a video about the Inventory Item ID limit glitches? Random crazy s**t starts happening and you can find like, invisible items in the inventory, when you hold tab to swap the different types of bolts on the bow you can use chicken sandwiches or other stuff, it's weird lol.

I'm still finding new stuff in CP2077. There has been a ton of stuff added recently as well which is great. The PS5 upgrade was free which I appreciate.
The game breaks due to integer overflow. A simple explanation: Whatever internal counter the game is using for time/date has hit the upper end of the counters limits, and rolled into negatives. It was really common to have happen in the 80s when unsigned integer counters were generally limited to 255 before rolling, you could do all kind of fun tricks. Its not so common nowadays, but unsigned integers do exist in systems where devs think theres no way someones going to cause overflow in a normal use-state. Everything breaks because npc schedules, outdoor lighting and so forth are tied to game clock. When youve got some number the engine is reading as negative million god knows what, the engine doesnt know what to do with it so all attached systems go on the fritz.
As soon as you compare two timestamps from the ingame clock instead of the system clock for anything (even though that's kinda hacky), this would result in ... negative time differences. Aka time moving backwards. So yeah, stuff would break, lmao.
This is complete speculation and could very well be wrong, but it could be that the game time is being stored as an int32. That puts the maximum positive time counter value at 2^31-1 (2,147,483,647) before overflow to -2^31 (-2,147,483,648). If the length of a day is 1 hour & 36 minutes (96 minutes), the math does seem to work out with the "End of Time" occurring after 10 years if you assume the counter is representing 10 ms in in-game time: = (max positive counter value) / (days in a year) / (real world minutes in a day) / (seconds in a minute) / (10ms intervals in a second) = 2,147,483,647 / 365 / 96 / 60 / 100 = 10.214438 ~ 10.2 years Given that the time actually went negative and not back to zero, I do think the counter must be a signed type. I guess technically the game could use an unsigned type and just pick an arbitrary start time and always delta to that, but that seems a bit more complex than it has to be. If anyone has a better explanation or knows the actual internals, would be interested to hear it!

The end of time sounds really scary. Like, It's almost like reality Itself starts breaking appart, these stuff always scared the hell out of me in games. I still remember how terrified and intrigued I was about Minecraft's Farlands when I was a kid.
Wait until you realize that if you don’t move in the direction the updates in Minecraft add to make it larger, the farm and stuff get closer with each update. You may have not changed from the land for fear of them, but they have gotten closer to you.
Yeah when I was a kid I somehow got way more immersed into videogames, and observing glitches when you i.e. parkour in Hexen-2 to the a point from where you can see the game has no horizon and instead the sky just loops all the way BELOW the game world. Also in Earth-2150 the default camera angle and zoom limits don't allow enough zoom-out to see the edge of the world, nor the fact that units have no textures on their bottoms - however a few particularly tall and steep hills exposed that. And, of course, levels like Xen in Half-Life which have "down" gravity while on some sort of island in space which lets you fall into an endless space-like void. - that freaked me out :-D Then I became a game developer and spent waay to much time looking at game level segments floating in the editor with just a skybox around them that I kinda got de-immersed from it. I guess IRL one can get also get mentally uneasy, if they try to be always aware that the Earth is a sphere or rock flying through cold space believed to be endless, while also spinning. Although the RL is less psycho than a couple Sci-Fi books I've read where 1) about a hundred people lived inside a space station, some 2 km in diameter, for several generations - and believed that to be the entire world there is. The interior of their living compartment was made to look like rock and they believed the entire universe outside their hollowed-out space was endless solid rock. 2) Enhabitants of an entire planet believed their planet was a hollow inside rock with gravity pointing inside out, because atmospheric refraction exceeded their planet's curvature. Their atmosphere was opaque enough that they never saw starts nor even their sun - their "clear sky" was similar to Earth's densely overcast sky. 3) Another sci-fi book I've read featured a "white hole" - aka reverse black hole, with reversed gravity, but also providing sunlight and thus energy. People built a space station around at about a 4km in radius - where the energy density was similar to Earth on a sunny day. Their gravity there was indeed pointing outwards, so falling from the lowest (outermost) floors of the station would push you away into the void. And the station itself relied on a finite set of steel cables looping around the "star" - to hold itself together, and if too many were torn - the remaining ones would be ripped apart, and disconnected parts of the station would be pushed AWAY from their "star" - into the endless cold void, where they'd inevitably freeze.
Like Geralt finding a book written by Sir Ex Letalis in a quest then an scholar npc says in dialogue: "NPC: Yes you found the book... The author have described in detail every nook and cranny of Novigrad, Velen and Toussant" "Geralt: Why'd he go through so much trouble?" "NPC: Well let say he was quite obsessed, even by our scholar's standards"
Woah! The game tracks 7 years of in-game time?! That's INSANE. Thank you, sir, for your service through all these years providing us with the most unusual and hard to find Witcher 3 secrets. This is truly the most detailed game of all time. But I also think that this can't be it. I don't WANT this to be it. The end of time thing is not that surprising. Time is probably stored as number of seconds or something, and it reached the limit that kind of integer can store, so it overflown. And basically everything that depends on time (for example, lighting, since it's tied to the time of the day) goes bad with it. Interesting to find it though.
i would find it more fun as a secret end of the world cap, although it's impossibel to play the game for 10 years to pass. In like 50 years we might get games that have such passage of time with such influene on the world and quests, but rn i would say it can only be done via story time-skips aka separating it into acts/chapters

Nah, on the technical side this game is *far* from flawless. Combat is average, movement is clunky, swimming and horse-riding are terrible, quite lots of visual bugs, AI is dumb as hell, crime system is laughable, dialogues overlapping are a reoccurring annoyance, etc. This game's strong and weak points are similar to Cyberpunk's, only getting much less shit about it. Masterful visuals and worlds with a masterful story and details, but being extremely amateurish in its' mechanics.
@@hellspawnx3526you can make the guy who likes her have the curse, so she lives with him and he has sometime to live. We don't know how much but Geralt said that the curse will be weaker on him cause he is an Adult when getting the curse and not a Child like Vivienne when she got that curse

The "end of time" could be the timer variable overflowing / having some other error ingame, that's usually the cause of games breaking when a given number (time or player coordinate, wtc) gets too big
@@jimmyvau yeah that, or my other thought was that if they used a float (though that would not make a lot of sense imo) then it could be losing precision as the value increases Though that wouldn't result in negative time, etc, so it's most likely just an overflow

Point light sources are these days rendered separately as spheres and the lighting is only done within these sphere (for further study, google "deferred rendering"). The size of the sphere is the area the light source impacts. I don't know why they are all white but it probably has to do something with time values being negative.
My partner is a game developer and he was really astonished and impressed by this about Vivienne. I think it's normal they didn't go further with NPCs reacting to this, as this itself is a prowess - programming something for 7 years later haha so I think it's like a wink and a gesture of how deeply they cared to the most loyal fans, but they couldn't go further than that.

For end of time issue, I think they are storing time in the form of seconds and after 10 years this number becomes so large that it can't be stored in whatever datatype they are using.

I had already found some of the stuff you were discovering as I tried to take a bit of a different my second time around for variety. Your content is amazing in terms of the depth you've gone and the effort you've put in. I think it also shows the dedication that the devs have put in. I remember saying it when I first competed the game but this thing is simply a masterpiece, little details like the one you've found confirm that for me.

I am feeling happy that xletalis has discovered everything in the witcher, but at the same time I am feeling sad that it might be all over, there is a lot of secrets that i do want to experience in the witcher 3 but sadly i just dont feel like running through all of it again, but with that said i still looked forward to every witcher 3 video that you would upload. 4:55 with the negative time i think its how the time is being storied with floating point numbers typically negative is the first bit going from left to right so you maxed it out and it didnt check to see if that bit should be changed when increasing the number so it goes negative. and the game doesnt know the time as -ve time so it just freaks out
Overflow was my first thought too. Although, I remain sceptical that they'd store time as float. At least in C# time is stored as 64 bit integer AKA long. Then again, I might be completely off, since I have zero game engine programming experience. I still don't quite get what they'd do with the fractions of float when handling time.

Kudos to you! Never Thought this final secret would be solved! Just a note, back at the beginning of W3, before all the patches...reaching you max level would bug the game and its graphics. I remember some weird Pink Floyd crazy colours happening!

Discovering this final secret with the tweets from the devs and all.. I'm impressed how detailed this game is, how tightly knit the community is, and happy that you shared your videos with us. I discovered the Witcher series around four years ago, when I started learning Polish. Mostly because I wanted to play a videogame with Polish voices. This game is currently the only thing I can make myself do for fun in the midst of a gnarly depressive episode. I don't think CDPR realized just how special this game was going to be to some of us.

Their gravity there was indeed pointing outwards, so falling from the lowest (outermost) floors of the station would push you away into the void. And the station itself relied on a finite set of steel cables looping around the "star" - to hold itself together, and if too many were torn - the remaining ones would be ripped apart, and disconnected parts of the station would be pushed AWAY from their "star" - into the endless cold void, where they'd inevitably freeze.
Just use mods to leave the Overworld and go to space.

This is truly the most detailed game of all time. But I also think that this can't be it. I don't WANT this to be it. I want to see more of this game from your side, and hope that there are even more downright bonkers secrets to find in other regions of the game such as Novigrad.

The end of time thing is not that surprising. Time is probably stored as number of seconds or something, and it reached the limit that kind of integer can store, so it overflown. And basically everything that depends on time (for example, lighting, since it's tied to the time of the day) goes bad with it. Interesting to find it though.
In Minecraft the time ends after a few billion years I think and the sun starts to go the opposite direction.

i would find it more fun as a secret end of the world cap, although it's impossibel to play the game for 10 years to pass. In like 50 years we might get games that have such passage of time with such influene on the world and quests, but rn i would say it can only be done via story time-skips aka separating it into acts/chapters

The Witcher 3 is the only game I'd ever hand a 10/10 score. A flawless and deep masterpiece to play and repeatedly admire.
It wasn't flawless, the combat was underwhelming. The rest though, *chefs kiss*.

Nah, on the technical side this game is *far* from flawless. Combat is average, movement is clunky, swimming and horse-riding are terrible, quite lots of visual bugs, AI is dumb as hell, crime system is laughable, dialogues overlapping are a reoccurring annoyance, etc.
This game's strong and weak points are similar to Cyberpunk's, only getting much less shit about it. Masterful visuals and worlds with a masterful story and details, but being extremely amateurish in its' mechanics.
Letalis calls it the last secret, but we know he'll be back with more.

I find discovering "the end of time" to be more impressive/interesting than Vivienne's secret :D
The "end of time" could be the timer variable overflowing / having some other error ingame, that's usually the cause of games breaking when a given number (time or player coordinate, wtc) gets too big
It's the 2038 problem. The probably used an 8 or 16 bit int to represent the time value.

How odd that there were so many spheres gathered together when everything went crazy. Such a wierd conjuction of events.
One could almost call it a conjunction of spheres;)
Point light sources are these days rendered separately as spheres and the lighting is only done within these sphere (for further study, google "deferred rendering"). The size of the sphere is the area the light source impacts. I don't know why they are all white but it probably has to do something with time values being negative.

My partner is a game developer and he was really astonished and impressed by this about Vivienne. I think it's normal they didn't go further with NPCs reacting to this, as this itself is a prowess - programming something for 7 years later haha so I think it's like a wink and a gesture of how deeply they cared to the most loyal fans, but they couldn't go further than that.

Given all of the details in TW3, it just makes me wonder how many there are in Cybepunk 2077 that have left to be discovered.

For end of time issue, I think they are storing time in the form of seconds and after 10 years this number becomes so large that it can't be stored in whatever datatype they are using.

I am feeling happy that xletalis has discovered everything in the witcher, but at the same time I am feeling sad that it might be all over, there is a lot of secrets that i do want to experience in the witcher 3 but sadly i just dont feel like running through all of it again, but with that said i still looked forward to every witcher 3 video that you would upload. 4:55 with the negative time i think its how the time is being storied with floating point numbers typically negative is the first bit going from left to right so you maxed it out and it didnt check to see if that bit should be changed when increasing the number so it goes negative. and the game doesnt know the time as -ve time so it just freaks out
Overflow was my first thought too. Although, I remain sceptical that they'd store time as float. At least in C# time is stored as 64 bit integer AKA long. Then again, I might be completely off, since I have zero game engine programming experience. I still don't quite get what they'd do with the fractions of float when handling time.

I discovered the Witcher series around four years ago, when I started learning Polish. Mostly because I wanted to play a videogame with Polish voices. Since then, I've spend hundreds of hours playing The Witcher 3, completed Witcher 2, read the first two books, watched the netflix series and a ton of xLetalis videos.. and I've enjoyed every bit of it!

I have over 1100 hours in this game, it helped me get through a rough period in my life. I'm glad other people love it as much as (or more than) I do.
Just popping in to let you know I'm currently at 1800, because I do full replays including ng+ every year. I love this world and its journeys.
This game is currently the only thing I can make myself do for fun in the midst of a gnarly depressive episode. I don't think CDPR realized just how special this game was going to be to some of us.

First off, how crazy cool is it that 1) you'd get in contact with the OG crew working on The Witcher 3 and discussing the secrets of the game and 2) you finding what they consider being the last untold secret of the game? Hat off to you, good sir! Probably among the coolest videos I've seen in that regard. Secondly, they need to rectify this with an update. Preferably, they release a new DLC that adds a few more of the previously considered areas and quests, as well as some new additions.
