Fun fact about Toussaint in general, there are many easter eggs about french culture. For instance the name of the cemetary where Regis lives is a reference to a very famous cemetary in Paris where many celebrities are burried, like Chopin. Some that are buried in this cemetary in Paris have their name on a tombstone in game, like Antoine de Saint Exupéry and Jim Morrisson. Other NPCs are named after influent french people like one of the victims of Detflaff, Delacroix, whose name is a reference to the french painter Eugène Delacroix (who painted Liberty leading the people) are even the hairdresser Jean Louis Ludovic who is a reference to a famous hairdresser that started a big brand of hairdressing that is present in almost every cities in France called Jean Louis David.
13:28 there’s another detail on this note that you missed; the author. His name is Smigole Serkis, a reference to Gollum from Lord Of The Rings. His real name is Sméagol (Smigole) and was played by Andy Serkis in the films.
In real there are a lot of references in this game. In the world of fairy tale I knew all of the stories and references, because I am from Spain, and it was so funny.
what about Syanna's story of her being exiled from the country, raped by the knights who escorted her and left to die, only to become a gang leader? Syanna is basically Renfri
@@saltifate yeah she's basically renfri, and i like that because she's like renfri, geralt would have more of a reason to help her. also was she really raped though? she said she was abused, and i didnt really want to think what type of abuse it was anyway.
When Regis and Dettlaff arrive at Orianna's place to talk by the table, at the very beginning she says: "We've known each other for... ooh, ages, literally." That was the moment it was quite obvious for me that she is a vampire. By that moment it kind of clicked for me that she actually fits for a vampire being so unemotional at everything she says. Also later Anna says to Geralt something like: she was always weird.
Honestly I felt that CD Projekt Red had so much fun making blood&wine The main game and Hearts of Stone felt like a passion project, and blood&wine was like "alright, cheers mate have this too"
The Witcher 3 is a diamond of a Game HoS-expansion as the Icing and Cherry on the cake BnW-Expansion is the crown on a masterpiece! I doubt we'll ever get a game of this quality, ever again!
As a book reader, I can actually explain to you the inconsistence about higher vampires. Basically, witchers divide bloodsuckers in two categories: - lower vampires - the primitive animal like creatures, - higher vampires - magical, intelligent monsters that can assume human form. Then there is a third category - high vampires- Regis an Dettlaff belong to them. The point is, no one knows that they exist, so they don't have an official name. In the books, the only person alive, that knows that Regis is a vampire is Jaskier/Dandelion. Even if some wither takes a contract to kill a vampire and it turns out to be high vampire, there are only two outcomes: - Witcher dies - Witchers die very often fighting vampires, so no one will suspect anything. Half of witchers would actually abandon the contract and run, if they confirm that the monster is indeed higher vampire. - Witcher surprises the vampire and "kills" it - It takes the vampire few weeks to regenerate. In that time Witcher already collected his bounty and went somewhere else looking for coins, not suspecting anything. High vampires are like skavens - they don't officially exist. It is just one of the many things that the games made incorrectly and contradicted books canon. The games often contradict the previous games canon as well and the story is often a mess, so it is not point nitpicking such a small detail.
Of course people know that they exist, otherwise Geralt could not have recognized Regis as a high Vampire, and the Witchers in general wouldn‘t have had any Knowledge about them
jesus, the moment Geralt found Ciri's limp body and he got up...i phisically felt the pain, anger, frustration and desperation that came from the scene and Geralt's body language That scene was pure gold
I've beaten the game 4 times, every time I play I tell myself I won't cry this time because I already know what happens but it's impossible not to during that scene.
one detail nearly everyone has missed is that after the fight against the cloud giant, u can find a sword under the ground, just jump from the brigde down to another brigde and than there's a tunnel to it
That's not that ez to miss if you are careful enough. I did find the first time, because there is a small light ball flying that guide you to there when you go to the bridge for the first time. And yes it is a dark soul reference.
I found the interaction with the wight to be highly amusing. The way it confusedly mimics Geralt had me in stitches and then looks at the spoon you make it drop like a dog whose ball you just threw.
Just discovered that you can get different dialouge with Barnabas Basil. To do this you need to skip going to Corvo Bianco after receiving the deed and instead continue with Regis quest immediatly. If you choose to lift the curse instead of killing the wight, Geralt will take Marlene to Corve Bianco and make a small mention about not being able to come by earlier.
its amazing for the player but really really really bad development practice. Think about it, the amount of time and energy that went into coding, writing, voice acting and animating of an obscure quest that 99.9999% of the players won't even find since you have to travel by horse to the edge of the map or something like that.... Actually there is something I find very mysterious. After the last fight with Detlaff I went back to Tesham Mutna before doing any quest to pick up some armor I dropped there and I heard a ragging monster sound in the tour I kept searching but found nothing. I thought Regis didn't kill Detalff and he trapped him. Was quite interesting tbh.
Someone actually told me the same thing some time ago (unless it was you). They speculated there's an invisible vampire or one stuck in the walls or underground or something. I went to investigate but didn't find anything
xLetalis You need to check before doing any quests that's how I did it if you took a quest after the fight immediately the voices won't be there I tried.
I got the ending in which Syanna got killed by Dettlaff, and after a while I decided to check the place. In the same spot where she died a wraith appears and attacks you. Interesting how the developers chose to deal with Tesham Mutna after the ending....
Emma Pillot indeed! I was shocked too after I finished all the quests in skellige and I went to discover the undiscovered locations I found Birna Bran attached to a rock and the crows eating her head. It was shocking how deep the details are in the game!

you know xletalis I was about to say that by finding that lady's engagement ring you did your good deed four the day...until you immediately tried to roast her face off. also during the scene when the duchess remarks on your style in my opinion it feels more sarcastic since you were wearing the ass ears. lol.
Didn't even notice the d.l.C./DLC metaphor when I played through. But yea, the greed thing with the gold in his mouth and the fact that he's chopped up into smaller bits that need to be collected to form the whole. CDPR were really poking a bit of fun, huh?
A lot different to the Katakan one, but remember when Geralt had to kill a Forktail (If I'm not mistaken), that's built a nest on top of a tower on a Skellige coast? Geralt got 2 choices; to lie and tell the ignorant man that he slew an actual dragon, or to be honest that he "only" killed a forktail. If he decided to be honest, he'd just get half the reward. So I guess when it's for a contract, exaggerate a wee bit, but when reassuring the duchess, make it easier on the duchess' mind?

Considering what has been said regarding Geralt not mentioning Ciri to Regis if she died, I guess we can say that Geralt "survived" the bad ending right ?
@@Canwehitsubscriberswitho-sr1id Possible but imo improbable. At the end of Blood and Wine Geralt lives happily with either his chosen love interest or best friend Dandelion, so why would he randomly snap, travel all the way to Crookback Bog and go on a suicidal mission to get Ciri's necklace back? It seems logical for him to do that soon after finding out she's gone or after a while of wallowing in sadness of her being gone, but not after years have passed, everything seems back to normal for Geralt and he gets a place to live. I think Geralt either survived the bad ending or one of the better endings is canon and B&W build upon that.
@@samb7805 Aww, I rather prefer the emperor ending. IKR!! I didn’t win a boxing match with a rock troll just to lose to some pompous townsman from Toussaint!
So I noticed something. Geralt mentioned something about Bruxa having a "fondness" for birds. Before you go into the cellar to fight the bruxa of Corvo Bianco, there are birds everywhere. Ravens, pigeons, and I think finches. I found it an interesting detail
yes it is true
@@xLetalis, I was wondering, are all the hooded women you see in Beauclair actually Bruxae or Alps? It would make since whenever you see one in the wild, they are always vampires.
Thanks for sharing, I had no idea :)
13:28 there’s another detail on this note that you missed; the author.
His name is Smigole Serkis, a reference to Gollum from Lord Of The Rings. His real name is Sméagol (Smigole) and was played by Andy Serkis in the films.
In real there are a lot of references in this game. In the world of fairy tale I knew all of the stories and references, because I am from Spain, and it was so funny.
it also mentions that the rabbit recipe is missing! Smeagol was quite disgusted at Sam's suggestion of cooking the rabbit he caught
what about Syanna's story of her being exiled from the country, raped by the knights who escorted her and left to die, only to become a gang leader? Syanna is basically Renfri

Also later Anna says to Geralt something like: she was always weird.
also she was so brave to fight the thief comparing to a normal human.
One of the cinematic trailers was the story of him killing her after the adventures of the game

As a book reader, I can actually explain to you the inconsistence about higher vampires.
Basically, witchers divide bloodsuckers in two categories:
- lower vampires - the primitive animal like creatures,
- higher vampires - magical, intelligent monsters that can assume human form.
Then there is a third category - high vampires- Regis an Dettlaff belong to them.
The point is, no one knows that they exist, so they don't have an official name. In the books, the only person alive, that knows that Regis is a vampire is Jaskier/Dandelion.
Even if some wither takes a contract to kill a vampire and it turns out to be high vampire, there are only two outcomes:
- Witcher dies - Witchers die very often fighting vampires, so no one will suspect anything.
Difference between high and higher?
Ekimara : higher vampire
Regis : high vampire
I like that idea of clever witcher. Surprising a vampire killing it and taking a bounty. Haha
@@Canwehitsubscriberswitho-sr1id Ekimaras are lower vampires, beasts,Katakans are higher vampires, intelligent, they can take human form(Hubert)
Of course people know that they exist, otherwise Geralt could not have recognized Regis as a high Vampire, and the Witchers in general wouldn‘t have had any Knowledge about them

one detail nearly everyone has missed is that after the fight against the cloud giant, u can find a sword under the ground, just jump from the brigde down to another brigde and than there's a tunnel to it
Yeah, the path towards it is kind of hidden, so only players that really love exploring are bound to find that sword
It’s the Dark Souls easter egg
Not sure that many has missed it, a will-o-wisp appears and leads you to it if you don’t find it by exploring on your own first
That's not that ez to miss if you are careful enough. I did find the first time, because there is a small light ball flying that guide you to there when you go to the bridge for the first time. And yes it is a dark soul reference.

Just discovered that you can get different dialouge with Barnabas Basil. To do this you need to skip going to Corvo Bianco after receiving the deed and instead continue with Regis quest immediatly.

Sorry... I don't remember very much
Didn't even notice the d.l.C./DLC metaphor when I played through. But yea, the greed thing with the gold in his mouth and the fact that he's chopped up into smaller bits that need to be collected to form the whole. CDPR were really poking a bit of fun, huh?
yeah
A lot different to the Katakan one, but remember when Geralt had to kill a Forktail (If I'm not mistaken), that's built a nest on top of a tower on a Skellige coast? Geralt got 2 choices; to lie and tell the ignorant man that he slew an actual dragon, or to be honest that he "only" killed a forktail.
If he decided to be honest, he'd just get half the reward.
So I guess when it's for a contract, exaggerate a wee bit, but when reassuring the duchess, make it easier on the duchess' mind?
I haven’t seen part 3 but isn’t Orianna the vampire in the A night to remember trailer hence his line “I’ll come back for you one day” and “They paid me for you”
