EV sales are up?! I thought all the headlines over the last couple months was that EV sales were all doom and gloom and the world was coming to an end... 🤦
The doom and gloom is typical, popular media fake news.
That was never the headline…. They were pointing out that the sales growth has slowed and is not as large as expected, which is the case.
@kaseyc5078 That was the doom and gloom with the emphasis on hybrid overtaking pure EV.
This is a Bevangelist channel so even the most minuscule rise will be treated with huge fanfare.
@@kaseyc5078 many headlines mentioned a decline but omitted that it was a decline in growth
Sean …by the time you finished the US manufacturing stats I didn’t know what to think. Why wouldn’t Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid be included as US manufactures right from the start of the report. Why do we keep saying Detroit 3 ….its 2.
I totally agree. I still think of the big 3 as Ford, Chrysler and Chevy. Even though that's wrong.
It also bugs me that even though I own a Tesla, some feral part of my brain thinks of it separately than "The Big 3"
I wonder what the sentiment will be like 5 or 10 years from now.
The point was that the "Big 3" U.S. production numbers have literally been cut in half in the last 25 years, while foreign transplant numbers have increased 85% over the same period. Thus, this is the first time in history that the "Big 3" have been "outproduced" on American soil.
Is Stillanus even a US automaker?
The Big 3 are GM, Ford, and Tesla.
@@rwdplz1 Holy carp! You nailed it. 😁
So China has a huge glut of cars and are only running at 59% utilization overall.
If anyone thinks that tariffs are going to keep this product from markets that want them, you are mistaken. They will find a way to get these cars to markets.
They'll likely dominate the third world markets for starters, so no escape for the legacies who are arguing that ICE still has a market in the underdeveloped nations.
Countries without an auto industry like cheap cars. Why would they not?
I'm very surprised GM has not struck a deal with a Chinese automaker as an inroad to the US market.
@@mrjim1973 GM already sells at least one Chinese auto in the US.
@@mrjim1973 UAW concerns.
You really need to evaluate you sources better for validity, authority and reliability, as you were reporting yesterday that EV sales were on a terminal slide. Perhaps you need to ignore the EV fud generated by the oil and gas companies.
Just this week, my L.A. neighborhood has 3 new EVs (Lyriq, Model Y, iX BMW). …….I go walking almost every day, and notice all the neighbor’s new cars. 🤷🏼♂️😂😎
@eddieg6436 Yeah, same here. It seems like everybody has one but me. And i'm stuck in this hot, noisy, vibrating my guts out gas hog that is late again for an oil change 😭🤣🤣
The typical EV buyer is a rich, liberal homeowner who buys the EV as a second (or third or fourth) car (retaining an ICE car for long trips). So no surprise there.
@@dzcav3 What a world you live in.😅
@@markm6488 ……Welcome to L.A.!! (one guy in the next neighborhood over has a plum purple Rolls Royce Cullinan SUV!) 😎🤷🏼♂️🥂
@@eddieg6436 I would love to see it, and northern CA. I live in NJ, 2,400 miles to the right. It's like a mini California, we have a little of everything here, just on a small scale.😅
Tesla keeps "Osborneing" itself. As part of that cohort, I'll wait for the model I want. It's easy since the "old" Tesla I have is still head and shoulders above any ICEV.
I hope Tesla is Osborning themselves with the Cybertruck in Europe. We only need one vehicle anyway. Cybertruck is perfect for every use case. I want my Cybertruck!
@@wolfgangpreier9160 Every use case other than practically every single use case a vehicle has. It's great at being a rhombus at least. Not great for much more though. It's definitely a terrible off roader and work truck. Its also too large to serve as a useful transportation in a city. Good luck with those small european roads.
EV sales are up 11.3% compared to other auto sales which were up .1%.
Will we see mainstream media with lead stories about this development?
We'll see.
The media goes for 'man bites dog'. EV sales increasing is 'dog bites man'.
That is amazing with EV sales down, crashing, no demand as Autoline reported just last week!
Yep no one that knows wants a hybrid!
There is no such thing as "the Detroit three." There's the Detroit two. There's the UAW three, or four now, with VW. Stellantis isn't headquartered in the Detroit area.
Stellantis is not a US company.
No more than Toyota/Honda/Subaru!
Replace Stellantis with Tesla. Model Y is the most American made car.
@@hayduke4589 American three, rather than Detroit three?
😮 sooooooo EV sales were up ⬆️ 😊
Looks like Mexico is going to be a major manufacturing hub for US automakers in the future! It's going to be interesting to see how all this plays out if we get an administration change in 2025!
If we get an administration change in 2025, you can expect to see more than just the auto manufacturing moving to Mexico.
When Bush Jr. was "selected" president in 2000, a couple of million Americans responded by moving to Mexico.
I think you might see a bigger exodus than that, if team Redcoat takes over.
We're already seeing auto suppliers moving farther south into Guatemala, because wages in Mexico are 'too high'
@@rwdplz1 If we see a regime change I wouldn't be surprised if nafta was thrown away and tariffs were imposed much more heavily. I also wouldn't be surprised if, in response, china bans US auto sales entirely. That'd be almost fatal for tesla as a car company, but also it seems to be what Elon wants to happen anyway given how he acts.
@@davidmenasco5743 More like millions of mexicans moved to america, nearly all of america's population growth is not from native citizens it is from immigration
VW should just use that plant to jointly build EV’s with Rivian for European market
Maybe they are
Nobody wants a Rivian. Or do they make VW Golf?
Union leaders corrupt? Who woulda thought?VW might close some EU plants?what took so long?BYD is looking for some factories I hear, It being an EV plant before helps of course there's that ONION issue that stinks, but maybe if the workers want jobs that can be negotiated🤔?
What was all the rage about EV sales tanking? I'm sure Toyota is not happy about that 😂
Toyota's ev sales are up too and are currently building a battery factory
Not surprised that Fain is corrupt. Hard to root out all that corruption.
A crooked UAW leader
No!!!!
There is no other personality type that could win that position.
😂
Resistance is futile (the Borg). Either North Americans build EVs and HEVs or the Chinese will dump them big time, tarifs or not. The Japanese companies lost hundreds of millions $ when they introduced their cars in USA and Canada. Look at them now 50 years later with a big chunk of the market. So much so that they own 50% of car mfg plants here are Japanese and Korean. 50 years is nothing for a multibillion corporation. Auto workers make good wages (unionized or not) and the local suppliers create millions of jobs. EVs are great for the economy and reduce pollution emissions in big cities.
I'm not sure why the US allowed Japanese imports
But they will outlaw Chinese cars if they have to
The UAW may be corrupt but so are the automakers... They are a match made in heaven/hell if you ask me!
Elon just absorbed more money in his pay package than the UAW could "cost an automaker" in 20 years. The UAW is small potatoes when it comes to corruption and at least it looks out for its workers.
Who are you to judge!
TSLA inchig sowy to $267, on the way to over $280 soon?
Great Show! Thank you.
would be interesting to check if there was some fracking going on in the area of the sinkhole.
You mean Detroit two?
Does anyone know when the new VE Tiguan is coming. I hope they have a hybrid
On next weeks Auto Week headlines… EV sales lag behind 2010 projections.
Worldwide, 1/3 or all cars sold last year were EV's or Hybrids.
EV sales are up is no surprise, industry is going in that direction. Look at Chinese automakers they still have spare capacity
The US must be the only place where EVs are up?
The US is the only place EVs aren't on an exponential S curve increase. Pull your head out please
Highly suggest Audi to transform the plan inti a museum like BMW Welt
2.4 to 4.9 is a 104% increase.
Some Anerican auto companies like Ford and GM made in Mexico

Up 0.8 % 😂😂😂😂
Going from 7.2% market share to 8% market share is an increase of 0.8 percentage POINTS, but it is an 11% increase in market share.
I remember when EV of new car sales were 0.1% total. It took nearly a decade to go from 0% to 1% and only took 5 years to go from 1% to 8%
@@dansanger5340 You aren't actually expecting a commenter to do MATH, are you?
Follow that trend for a decade and BEVs end up being an enormous part of the market. Marketshare numbers go up over time, thats how, like, time works.

ice sales improved 0.1%, what do you call that?

OF WHICH Tesla estimated they sold 670,000 vehicles, Rivian 47,200, Polestar 9,770, and Karma 216.
- A FEW OTHER EV MANUFACTURERS
LETS JUST ROUND IT DOWN TO 14 MILLION ICE VEHICLES
EV'S ARE A DROP IN THE BUCKET
So, your lead story is soaring ev sales. Fallowed by a story about one auto maker faking/inflating ev sales...domt you think the other brand are prob doing the same?
EVs are not selling. Anyone can see them sitting on lots for month
you can also look at registrations not just the numbers from automakers. They do that with tesla because they don't report regional sales
Well, Tesla still sells more EVs than everyone else's EVs combined in the USA. And Tesla reports actual sales to real customers. Other manufacturers report sales to dealer lots, which you are right, might remain their for months. Still the more reliable number is actual new vehicle registrations which eliminates the sales scams by legacy automakers.
Tesla U.S. market share maybe down but Tesla shares price continues to go back 📈😀! Elon Musk is turning Tesla into a tech company with big time AI technology! Robotaxi, humanoid robots around the corner!😮
Chinese cars are better hehehehehe
Why is everything always around the corner with Tesla? A.I. hype has begun to cover their lagging sales
sure, why not

Foreign companies should never have been allowed to build here, but anyway, knowing the UAW they will regret it, it’s not for nothing the big three moved their assembly lines outside
What? you want more jobs lost overseas?
@@JD-yx7be If those jobs are foreign jobs, yes, it’s where they belong
I’d never work for a foreign company, and people willing to do so don’t deserve any better than lose theirs
Actually I see it just the other way. I don't care where your headquartered so long as you build the car in the USA. Not just assemble but build.

How many assembly lines Toyota built in the UK, France etc… then moved them out in Eastern Europe leaving entire communities devastated? How long before those foreigners get tired of the UAW and go get themselves Tacos?
I am a car person but also a MAGA type. Thus the electric cars are fun to look at (no car is boring) but I hope they fail. China has dozens of brands most of them cranking out "all new" designs every 12 months. How can we compete with that! I hope they fail because I don't like being lied to which is all our govt does any more -- from EVs to Ukraine to mRNA vaccines. The lies on EVs run the gamut -- exaggerating their abilities --- hiding their flaws. I predict at the end the day when all of the dire predictions from climate change don't happen BEVs will be a niche market. They are trying to force a 100% conversion right now. Micro diesel turbine hybrids may catch on they burn anything are low polluters (of actual bad things i.e. NOT CO2) and have no range issues. Let the market decide.
What the F did I just read? 🤦
I’m not sure I follow you. Can you repeat the first part? Also, do you know anything about flush toilets?
Government are pushing EVs before the tech is mature enough. At the end of the day batteries are getting cheaper every year. The original Tesla roadster's battery pack cost $70k a equal capacity pack today cost $10k and still dropping.
