Regarding Tesla, you forgot to add that shareholders recently overweeningly re-approved Musk's original pay package that was struck down in Delaware. Because of this, nothing was saved by these attorneys, so anything they are payed is fully a loss to Tesla shareholders.

@@Tommy2tone762 It doesnt make the story as salacious. The lawyers won but there was no value returned to the shareholders. They revoted again for the same thing. "Stock" EV races might actually be interesting again, if they went back to the historical basis of NASCAR, and ran STOCK EVs. It would be interesting to see what manufacturers would come up with if the designs went back to a "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" design incentive. The engineers would certainly get a kick out of being turned loose to get performance and durability experience out of racing their car designs. Tesla roadster vs Porsche Taycan vs Hyundai N vs E-Corvette could be a real draw for the younger fans, uninterested in watching noisy, smelly, obsolete ICE racers that bear no resemblance to their 4-cyl twin-turbocharged, but still anemic, street versions sold at dealerships.

According to Nasdaq 22 million metric tons was used in 2023.
    Or, 22.000.000.000.000 kg.
Every ICE car uses 18-49 punds
That's 15 kg. 80M car are produced, so 1.200.000.000 kg copper in ICE cars.
A typical EV requires over 132 pounds of copper. That's 60 kg.
    So, 60*80M is
    4.800.000.000.
    4,8M - 1,2M is 3,6M kg more.
    That's 1,65% more copper. (22T kg).
Please be serius, 1,65% more copper. Why are Autoline refering to those FUD reports?

the German Big-3 OEM's (Mercedes, Audi [VW], BMW) have already long deployed 48V in it's "proper use case" to simultaneously give the best ROI to the company and best benefit to their customers. however unlike the GROSSLY INEFFICIENT Cybertruck, the German vehicles are already super efficient to begin with, so what this means is they DON'T NEED to incur the EXORBITANT COSTS to create a full system wide 48V architecture for very little gain at this late date in "optimized" 12V history (ref: the Law of Diminishing Returns). however in stark contrast, Tesla Corp HAD NO CHOICE but to pursue 48V, because if they didn't...? the "Cyber Rhombus" (additionally handicapped by 4680) would SUCK EVEN MORE in terms of efficiency than it already does, aw crap...
that's right, an existing 12V window motor or wiper motor be it in a Gas car or an EV has the EXACT SAME EFFICIENCY as the costly AF 48V window motors and wiper motor in the $100,000 Dollar Cybertruck when the windows and wipers are NOT BEING USED.🤑😀 yeah, so in that recent ice cold Winter of Chicago (when all those Tesla's were dying) you can bet NOBODY was driving around and rolling their windows up and down like a MANIAC. so in like fashion in the "desert dry" conditions of Summer in say Phoenix or Las Vegas where they get very little rainfall, short of the occasional blast of washer fluid to clear dust build up (an event that lasts for all of 10 secs) you can bet NOBODY is driving around either with their wipers on 24/7/365...
sorry kids, but you've been DECEIVED by a "48V Con" of conspicuously NOT not having many of the Cybertruck's Loads (and related Amp Draw) discussed in terms of DUTY CYCLE which is something REAL Engineers (not laymen) would take into consideration. for example in an EV like the supposed "lowly" Chevy Bolt, the Amp Draw of those 2 "consumers" i just mentioned is MORE THAN OFFSET by the car's ability to REGEN up to a MASSIVE 70 kW (true story). in fact the Bolt's FWD electric motor is so powerful it can technically deliver a HIGHER PEAK NUMBER back into it's battery (at stop lights) when it's being driven around by an owner than when it's going nowhere, sitting plugged into a 50 kW EA station. 😅

China should focus on hybrids more. It seems there isn't enough copper in the world for every vehicle to be electric.

China knows better than to believe this idiotic study. For that reason, they'll continue to dominate while we get bogged down by these meaningless studies.

Hybrids still use finite Fossil fuels while Sunshine and Wind always around and battery technology improves daily and COPPER IS HIGHLY RECYCKABLE , ,I'd like to see you recycle GASOLINE Fumes in you lungs, The Chinese aim to dominate in EVs,IF THE LEGACY AUTO COMPANIES are to survive they would build only BEVs,by YEAR 2030 , a scant 5.5 yrs away , Yes , that TIME BOMB is TICKING, You read it first here ,from me!

re: "Electric NASCAR sounds like another Bud Light story…" exactly, anybody paying attention should already know this is NOT going to end well. Nascar...? REALLY...? good luck with that.
