Eddie Taylor was a great slide guitarist. Which most people's have Zero knowledge of. Nor appreciation of his skills in that genre. I knew Eddie Taylor from, my childhood on up. He was patient, He was kind. I am eternally grateful, that we were close friends.
Thank you to the Japanese Blues Afficianados who produced this brilliant doco; Eddy Taylor is, in my very humble opinion, the finest 'old school' country-blues picker ever. He had a great start in musical life - he was largely raised by his mums best friend, Memphis Minnie; ... the greatest female blues guitarist of all time, & at least the equal of the best of the males as well. If you like Eddy Taylor, do yourself a favour & watch - the sadly too few - youtube clips of MM.
I absolutely love this post, it's inspiring for me getting to know and see this kind of work, just superb. Hope to know soon about this kind of documentaries. Merry christmas and a happy new year.
Can someone please identify the band playing at the fishmarket? The singer sounds like Taildragger but who are the others? Thanks so much for your help!
There has always been a percentage of the US population whose been illiterate, A majority of that percentage being African American. I can add James Cotton and Albert King to the list of bluesmen who couldn't read or write either. To date in this country there are young people who are, And I'm afraid that all of the people who left school because of the Pandemic? Those numbers will only increase.

Oh, my word... this is absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for posting.
Catfish blues for real 8:00. Thank you for putting this out.
Loved the video in the «fish house». Thanks for posting!
Superb musician. A personal hero.
The best guitar player in the world.

listen to that slide vibrato! Absolutely perfect
Fantastico.No words!!
Mr. Eddie Taylor a blues legend 🎸🎶🎶🎶
Wonderful!
Great docmentry love this! :-)
Rare! Great! Thanks a lot.
Includes Tail Dragger at the end too, what's the name of this documentary?
What is the first song he’s playing during and after the interview called I’ve tried looking it up for days now
Great stuff!
❤❤❤
Fantastic slide player. This great doc really gets under the skin - no tourist stuff here! This is how it was.

Kakoi, Jozu! Domo Arregato, Thank You For Sharing Super Black Blues Rare Video, Please Don't Take down this is Great Blues History. Mark
" .... unbelievable even in Japan they got the blues .... go for it Eddie boy .... "
IN A ONE ROOM CITY SHACK... EDDIE TAYLOR
lo verdadero!
real blues, real men
I live in Chicago, I’d like to know the address of that small apt, just so I can place the hood in my mind
Scripture says, you will build a house but you won’t live in it. You will plant an orchard and you will not reap the fruits.
so the last thing those catfish heard before gettin hacked up was a smokin blues band---cool!
BTW that sounded more like Robert Nighthawk to me
Catfish blues...
ALFRED CAYMEN SHAME ON YOU .YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY FATHER.
I think some of these guys were giving the public the image it wanted. I refuse to believe he couldn't read or write.
Man I've known many guys in his generation that couldn't read or write. Take John Lee Hooker for one.
Then you're in denial that there is such a thing known as being illiterate? Look at the stats.
Then you don't know shit...!!
There has always been a percentage of the US population whose been illiterate, A majority of that percentage being African American. I can add James Cotton and Albert King to the list of bluesmen who couldn't read or write either. My heart is bleeding! E. Taylor for ever!
