  • You don't need to turn fast to be sub 10.
    But if you're going to turn slowly, you do need to be efficient and know a few tricks here and there!

    • @aminrosli9744
      @aminrosli9744 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i know that, but its better than having average of 20 sec with very fast turning woth a lot of pauses

    • @ekrium2772
      @ekrium2772 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amin Rosli It's difficult to estimate which is better. Imagine if you could do 100 tps that'd be more worth than lookahead.
      I think they are both equally important, the problem is that many people tend to neglect lookahead by turning faster than they can follow visually. But you also have to push your lookahead by turning a little 'too' fast... Videos like this one are pointless I think, because you can't slowturn a sub-10 average unless you are already much faster. Feliks is amazing at both tps, efficiency and lookahead, so he can decrease one of them and still get really good times. But if a slower cuber decrease their tps they don't magically get sub-10...

  • @ekrium2772
    @ekrium2772 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    If he executed that 7 with his normal tps it could have been a sub-4 solve.. Lol

    Can you do a 2-look OLL and PLL average of five (fast turning)? It will show that you don't need to know full OLL and PLL to be fast.

    • @Stewy-
      @Stewy- 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      +JACubed that's like saying he should do an average of 5 with the beginners method because then it'll show that "you don't need a better method to be fast"
      just because people CAN get good times with 4 look last layer, doesn't mean you should aim for that

    • @emperorzant2850
      @emperorzant2850 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Stewy That's exactly right! This is similar to Collin Burns saying that Full OLL is overrated, and that fast times can be achieved with just 2-Look OLL and 2-Look PLL.
      While he's not wrong, if one wants to be as fast as possible, they should strive to learn all 78 CFOP last layer algorithms. They're not as hard to learn as people think, and yet they're so efficient!

    What strategy do you use to recognize ZBLL? I look for headlights then positioning of the solved blocks to recognize PLL and shape then definitive flipped corners to recognize OLL, but it seems like it would be a lot more complicated to recognize a case when there are two things going on at once. Yet, your ZBLL recognition is easily just as fast if not faster than my OLL and PLL recognition.

    • @fzemdegs
      @fzemdegs  8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      First by the CLL, then by the edges. In some cases, it's just by the blocks around the side of the top layer. I don't have a strict 'system' or anything.

    • @karlzhao314
      @karlzhao314 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for the answer.
      What does learning ZBLL feel like? I remember OLL seemed nearly impossible to learn in full until I was about a third through, and then it just felt routine. Does ZBLL feel the same, or is it just as daunting the whole way through?

    FELIKS IS ILLUMINATI: Let's see
    The Feliks' unnoficial record is 3.69, first let's see the sum of the numbers: 3+6+9=18, OK, let's continue, the last 2 numbers of the time are 6 and 9, do u remember what happened in 6/9? It was 1 month before Feliks' first official comp, His last video on 6/9 was an avarage of 11.42s, so 1+1+4+2=8, the video is called Pratice for NZ championships, how many events did Feliks participated at NZ champs??? 8 events.
    Remember the 18? What day was the NZ Champs? 18/7/9. And that isn't all, At that comp, Feliks won by 7.40s of difference by the second place in the first round, in official ranking, there is 4 people that made 7.40s, 4 people, the only person that made a 4 in a comp was Lucas Etter, as Lucas as Etter have 5 letters, what have 5 letters too? LADEN, who is Laden? A brazillian singer that is so famous by doing funk songs, his most popular song is Tá Tranquilo Tá Favoravel, where was filmed this song? BRAZIL, what happened in Brazil too? the 2015WORLDS that Feliks went and did 5 times 5s, coincidence? I don't think so, why? take a look: Feliks did 5 times 5s, so 5x5=25, 25 remember one person, Collin Burns, looking at that name, I ask you: who burns? Ellie Gouldin, one of her songs is On my mind, where u use your mind? to learn algorithms who know ALL the algorithms? FELIKS ZEMDEGS... Coincidence?...

      +Andréa et Valentin speed cubing after watching this video I thought to myself, I can match that speed no problem, and lookahead shouldn't be a problem. I do an ao5, 17 seconds, which is what I average.

    Can you teach us these "tricks here and there" and some ways to be more efficient during F2L?

    • @emperorzant2850
      @emperorzant2850 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BrodytheCuber There's a but too much in efficient F2L to go in-depth with, as most of the efficiency comes from experience. If you really want to be efficient at F2L: avoid unnecessary rotations, DO NOT waste moves, build up look-ahead, and practice different ways of inserting F2L pairs from different angles (basically, experiment). That's really all Feliks does, except he's been doing those things for years, so he can perform them very fast.
