@@evelynaustria5227I’m sorry this is happening to you. If your condition is an auto immune disease you don’t need to have done anything specific or at least anything you would know about. Auto immune diseases usually have a genetic component that is triggered by something in your environment. It doesn’t necessarily even have to be a long term exposure/situation.

I am so glad I found you. I am stage 3b and told by 2 nephrologists that diet doesn't mean that much. I have followed a diet on my own for a year and felt so much better. Moved to a senior living with no added salt diet meals which is just not enough for me. I will use the water filter with my bottled water from now on. I also am curious about the carbonated water. I drink that with just flavor added nothing else.....at least nothing listed extra on label. I am thrilled with the info you are presenting as so far every video has answered questions that I have. Keep up the good work. Bless you both.

OK. I'm a lifelong oxalate kidney stone😅 -maker and vegetarian for the past 20 years with a past passion for sugary carbs. Latest 24-hr x 2 urine test summary concludes with longstanding bilateral kidney stones despite reasonable fluid intake and a basically good diet. Of fruit and veg
After years of living with kidney and gastric disorders I'm absolutely convinced that IBS and certain bowel disorders; leaky gut for example play a significant role in the making of kidney calcifications Although, blood tests may show no abnormality in Creatinine and protein levels in the kidneys, in much older years weight gain, kidney stones and hypertension can become a bigger problem when the diet is not carefully adjusted. In my early seventies my diet is good, but without sugary carbs, gluten and salt. These three cancer-causing foods are absolute poison in the gut, including weight gain and even inflammation of the joints. I might then suggest thst Kidney stone sufferers are well advised to substantially cut sugar, salt and gluten out of the daily diet altogether.

Always best to make your own.
      ALMOND OR CASHEW MILK
      I cup almonds or cashews
      2 cups water
Soak overnight or at least 6 hours
      Throw off that water
Now put that soaked almond or cashew in a blender, add two cups of fresh water and blend thoroughly.
Strain in very fine strainer. That’s it!
It is concentrated at this point. Add enough to your teas or water as needed. Add honey or sweetener if you desire.
Store in glass container in fridge. It will last quite a few days in the fridge.
      Hope this helps.

Good morning..I am so happy to have found this channel!!! I live in Italy and I have not had all this information, you have opened up a whole new world for me!! I have a thousand questions but I will only ask one..I have been on a plant based diet for years now..apart from kidney problems I also suffer from ibs...that's why I became vegan after being a vegetarian..I was watching another video and it was talking about oxalates, which come from vegetables and its very dangerous for who is following a plant based diet and that have kidney problems..I am so worried now!! I'm terrified about what I should eat..my question is...
Is it dangerous to follow a plant based diet if we can damage even more our kidneys from the oxalates in vegetables?
I'm so confused and scared..it would be lovely to have a video on this subject
    Thank you so much.

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hello! Thanks for tuning into our channel! We do have another short video on oxalates, but will have more soon! A healthy kidney diet should always be individualized. Some people may need lower oxalates, and some may not. For people who do need to limit oxalates, usually avoiding/limiting the very highest oxalate foods is enough (spinach, rhubarb, raspberries, beets, almonds). There are still TONS of whole, plant based foods that aren't extremely high in oxalates.

In your discussion of teas, it sounds like you were referring to various forms of green tea, which contain caffeine. How about non-caffeinated herbal teas? I ask because I drink hawthorn and hibiscus tea. A related question is that I have an overactive bladder & I can't drink 1 to 2 liters of water (as Dr. Hashmi suggests) or I will be peeing all day & night.

Can you take a little bit of calcium supplement - like 125 mg or so with your oxalate food, whether it's tea or leafy vegetables, in order to prevent the formation of stones?

Using only veggies as meat substitute is problematic for CKD patients. There's too much potassium & carbs and there's. Veggie protein is not as efficiently used as animal protein and without enough protein the body will consume it's own muscle tissue and there's more to meat than just protein. Meat has a bunch of nutrients you can't get anywhere else. You'll need to take supplements.

Great advice and really appreciated as my hubby strives to improve his kidney function through better dietary choices. But can you help us by answering this question: can a borderline CKD stage 2/3 patient eat a higher amount of protein in a diet that is 100% plant-based, or must the diet be restricted to the normal 0.6-0.8 g/kg body weight? Thanks very much.
