Totally agree on this man. This is absolute madness. It's like the wait is over. Brilliantly sums up everything to meet the requirements. Thanks again!
This is glorious, been searching for "learn chords on keyboard" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Nonason Ranincoln Genie - (just google it )? It is a good exclusive guide for discovering how to play the piano like a pro minus the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my partner got great success with it.
Cheers for the Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you ever tried - Deyvelynar Celebrated Dominance (just google it)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering how to learn the piano fast without the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my close friend Aubrey finally got cool success with it.
Nice Video clip! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Rozardner Possess Violin Reality (should be on google have a look)? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for understanding how to master the piano minus the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my old buddy Taylor after a lifetime of fighting got cool results with it.
This is honestly one of my favourite videos on TH-cam. Every transition is excellently done. Talking and playing at the same time is an amazing skill to have. Would love to see more videos like this!
This was EXACTLY the kind of video I was after. I play by ear and can find and create lovely chords and progressions, but really at a loss as to how to break them up into accompaniment. This video was just brilliant, lots of things to practise and adopt. Instant sub (and +1 of course!) Thank you!!!
The quality of this video is literal top tier youtube content. You don't see this type of quality often. Quick to the point and so full of good information, wow.
Great video! As a 'classically trained' piano enthusiast, I'm always envious of people being able to play accompaniments impromptu. And in case no one has mentioned, really impressive that you guys respond to EVERY comment! What dedication~
Thank you for the kind words! Impromptu accompanying definitely gets easier when you focus on these popular styles that can be applied across many songs. We love to connect with ALL our users; we're here to serve YOU :)
This video fucking saved me I was freaking out about coming up with different accompaniment styles for my music therapy entrance exam and now i have a whole arsenal
Thank you, I'm a beginner in piano and songwriting. I have asked my teacher about how to play chords in different ways but he couldn't really give me an answer. But this was what I was looking for.
This was long over due! For those who want more out of playing bring more of this! Theory on song can help you or what i usually say is help you quicker around the learning curve. After you join this ( HD Piano ) along with the songs you learn a short 4 min theory a long to help you learn the song or something that has to do with the song, not all people want or need this but just a line like at the end of the lesson, 3 mins of theory. just an idea because a huge volume of beginners & intermediate player come to learn and would appreciate it instead of have to looking around ( on youtube ) for tutorials on theory! JUST SAYIN!
The hardest thing he did was talking over the groove at the very start 😂 Loved this vid btw. Saved me a lot of hassle and learned a few new tunes instantly. This video is awesome for people looking to build their repertoire
You are an incredibly interesting person. I could just listen to videos like these for hours, and never get bored. You just keep people in a good mood just by playing, talking, humming, etc.
As a piano teacher myself, this video is so valuable. It's so important to emphasise that many of the catchiest things on piano are just a *couple* out of many possible concepts applied together. It doesn't need to have a lot going on. And rhythm is king. Great video. :)
I was looking for simple pieces for accompaniment, and not only that I found some great examples here but you also reminded me of some all time best hits that are simply gorgeous to accompany on the piano. Thanks! Liked and subscribed.
Learned many songs from you guys, but this is by far my favorite video. It takes only a few minutes to learn chords and patterns now, so these types of videos which talk about those patterns are my favorite parts!
This is EXACTLY what I've been wanting to do. Piano (keyboard) isn't my main instrument, but I've always wanted to be able to have basic improvisation skills with it. After learning the basic chords and moving on to more complex shapes, this is definitely the next step in my journey to improve. Thanks so much!
not only are these patterns very useful for us budding pianists but you've also selected great examples too! and you have great timing too - really grooves! thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for this video, I can’t tell you how many videos there are on jazz comping, but no videos on pop comping patterns! So happy you made this video!!
I can't comment on HDPiano videos (no Facebook) but thank you so much for what you do - it's been invaluable for a guy who hasn't played the piano for many years and is picking it back up again. You've showed me the way. The problem is I keep gravitating to Devon's advanced pieces like Fly Me To The Moon when I'm probably better served learning something less advanced. But it's so great to hear! The subscription is money well spent for me, keep up the great work.
Well explained. It's amazing how simple most pop songs really are from a harmonic standpoint... no jazz scales, and as it seems pretty basic cord progressions. Will up my rhythm game after watching this. Thanks!
Quarter note chords in the right hand with the left hand doubling the bass' walking bass line. Sometimes with faster jazz only every second chord. Complexity comes from the chords themselves (7, add9, add11, add13, 7sus4…)
This video just made me feel some kind of relieved not only my songs are build up very simple. It's a common receipe. Means that it depends on how you dose the ingredients 😊
Guitar player here need to record some piano parts for a song on a tight deadline, this is giving me some confidence that I'll be able to figure things out, Thanks for the great video!
Wow, I'm late to the party here but this is just absolutely brilliant! So simple, so smooth, so entertaining, and yet still very informative. Great work!
remember to be realistic - you will need to do a bit of work whatever system you use for learning to play piano I have spent months researching into how to play piano and discovered a great resource at TurboPianoSecret.com (google it if you're interested)
You've have just encouraged me to back my piano studies. Thank you very very much! What a quality of sound you record your videos. You've just got more one subscribe. Greetings from Brazil.
Holy crap this video changed my piano life! I am at this very moment revisiting an original I wrote and applying the Love Song/Haven't Met You Yet style and it makes my song sound a billion times better, and makes me sound cooler than I really am. Thank you Mr. HD Piano. 🙌🙏❤️
TH-cam recommendations finally gives me something awesome! I play piano while my friend does guitar and this would make playing together much more fun and easier! That way I don't need to learn a new melody each time and have a lot more freedom in songs~
Enjoyed this video! Hey Devon, maybe you could do one on what it means for a chord progression to be “resolved” ...or answer any way you like. I understand the sound when I hear it. Just not the technical side 🤔
Oh my! This is just fantastic! Thank you so much! I am writing music, and I always feel that something is missing. This inspired me a lot! This is a really great video!
Such a fantastic video ands thank you soooooo much for putting everything in the description! I was about to write down all the time stamps and names on a paper

Exactly yes
The fact that this tutorial goes on for 9 minutes without any apparent breaks is so impressive. Very helpful too, thank you =)
"ONE TAKE!"
I was at awe while watching this video. This opened up my mind in improvising and how simple songs can really be. Thank you HDpiano

Arismendy Peguero that’s a Roland F-20! Great weighted keyboard
