I’ve tried a few different machines over the years but I still like to use my Top-O-Matic that I’ve had for over a decade now. I can crank out perfectly packed cigs as quick as any electric machine. The type of tubes you get definitely makes a difference also. Some just don’t pack as well or slip off at the last second leaving you with a tiny frustrating gap between the filter and rest of the cig. I usually use Zen full-flavor tubes or sometimes Top tubes. Don’t buy shitty tubes just because you might save a dollar. It makes a big difference.
Ok so 1 week after I ordered my new Powermatic 3 I am glad to see it arrived at my house. I have to say it is a true pleasure not to have to worry about packing the tobacco any more. You will still need to tamp your smoke a couple of time to make sure it is evenly distributed at the filter connection to the smoke but other than that it is a perfect machine. I use Red river tobacco, only because I am not willing to buy 12-20 pounds at once. If leaves and shredders offered the same great deals in not such a large quantity show that i could try it out and see if it worked for me I would probably go that route since there price is better than the $12 a pound I currently pay. This Powermatic 3 is so great I don't even have to pre-roll smokes I just leave on a counter on top of a cookie sheet to collect any droppings and all i do is literally 5 seconds to roll a smoke I simply put a tube on the machine 2 seconds later it rolls a smoke and i smoke it. This is the greatest thing since french toast hahah seriously it it awesome and I think any one who rolls smokes should definitely buy one of these. I do not get paid to say any of this, I am in no way affiliated with the machine and gain nothing by saying these things. Although I wish I was getting paid to promote this machine because it would be so easy to promote this machine it truly is the best I have ever seen or had. I have been rolling since 1992 so like 26 years of rolling and this is the only time I have spoke so boldly about any product. Get yours quick!

But I have to roll em all by hand and after years of this like you, I'm trying to find an electric roller. Where I can just throw the tobacco in the hopper and put in a stack of papers and it'll spit out cigs. non-stop. Have you seen anything like this? It'd save ppl like us so much time.
I have had my Powermatic 2 for dam near close to 10 years by now and still works great never had to fix it once.... I don't think the price increase for this one is worth it at-least for me... Powermatic 2 cost me $100 and definitely got my monies worth from it...
I quit after 26+ years with vape, but, I rolled my own when they started the FSC bullshit. I used a Topomatic T2, OHM menthol and Zen menthol tubes. I rolled like that for 6 or 7 years, and then right before I turned 40 I decided to quit, not because I really wanted to, because I really liked smoking, but because of other people's bullshit. I got no problem with smokers, it's your life on this planet, live how you want to live it. Enjoy your stay here on this spinning rock. Nobody makes it out of here alive, so smoke em if you got em.
You didn't mess those tubes up. They're still 100% usable. I'm curious to know how well they pack at the filter. The body of the smoke is never a concern, just where it ends when you're down to the butt. Having that cherry fall off at the wrong time can be quite inconvenient, and even damaging.
really packs quite well at the filter. I was skeptical at first, but I'm now a huge fan of this unit. Don't ignore the comments about having tobacco fairly dry. It's quite fussy about that. I put mine in a pan to dry for an hour or so and works great. Just rolled my 1000th smoke and as long as your tobacco is good it just keeps chugging along.
@@russolstead4424 I found that if you're in a hurry, higher moisture tobacco feeds fine if you reduce the cut of the tobacco by using sissors on the damp tobacco. Doesn't take much snipping at all and it will feed fine without bridging in the hopper.
A #2 Phillips head screw driver fits perfectly into the tubes when you mess them up. Run your thumb around the messed up part of the tube and it saves the tube.
Just flatten the tube from the center outward then do it again at a 90 degree angle. It stiffens up the tube, especially at the end. Easy to insert back into the machine and no tools needed.
Just got this machine mine is different from this it has an option for kings and 100s today I made 5 packs in 30 minutes! This machine is great I have bad RA and my t2 wasn't cutting it anymore. But it you will be glad you did
Evan,i bought one from you folks about two months ago,works fantastic,the only problem i have at the moment is that it is jammed up,how would i be able to fix that.
Right now (3-1-2020), the Powermatic 3 is a $240 machine vs. the Powermatic 2 weighing in at $70 (sparing the pennies). I would recommend the 2nd version over the 3rd by price and features due to price. The #2 has a catch tray whereas the #3 requires your hand to put in into the nonsensical tray. The only benefit of the #3 seems to be the savings of tamping time, where the machine still takes time to complete.
I just got this one today & so far I don’t like it, it will do 100’s, but no matter the 100’s or king’s, it dont pack them the greatest, very loose & mine doesn’t have the density setting now does the counter work, probably gonna be sending it back…
The only bad thing for the PM3 is that you're kind of screwed if you get a jam because of you can't access the inside without voiding the warranty as far as I know. I've also read the 1st version of the PM3 is much better than the 2nd version but you can't find the 1st version anywhere. I'm still using a PM2 because it works every time plus it's so easy to clear a jam, that helped me big-time when I started rolling my own.
My Powermatic III does a better job of evenly distributing and packing the tobacco than did my Powermatic II in which I had to manually distribute the tobacco. On rare occasions a cigarette will come out slightly loosely packed with the Powermatic III but I solved this by getting the Leaf Only cigarette finishing machine as an accessory. This little jewel not only flattens the end of the cigarette and rolls the paper edges inward but also does a fantastic job of making the tobacco settle in the tube toward the filter from the slight vibration encountered when the cigarette is inserted into the Leaf Only's finishing head. I highly endorse the Powermatic III as a fast, convenient way of making your own smokes. Mine cost only a bit over $200 from Amazon and with the cost of ready roll cigarettes hitting $80 a carton in my state the Powermatic III is a money saver that soon pays for itself.
The only reason I would ever consider buying an electric roller would be so that I don’t have to pack the tobacco in myself. I don’t really see why anyone would want an electric roller that only preformed the same task that a crank does, but slower. I’ve been using the same Top-O-Matic machine for over a decade and I can roll quicker and more consistently with that than with an electric one.

If you go with the Powermatic III you will find your making time cut in half and your consistency in making perfect cigarettes more than doubled . Only weakness of the III is the cut of the tobacco. It doesn't like long cut tobacco but if your can cut it a little shorter it never misses.
@@CottonFarmer667 To each their own I guess. I’ve tried a few different electric ones and although the Powermatic III worked well I still feel I can get just as good a roll with my Top-O-Matic. I just dump a large pile of tobacco and tubes and hammer them out. I think I’ve just been doing it so long and have a feel for how I like it packed that it works better for me. Plus there’s virtually zero maintenance for my machine. I’m glad you like your Powermatic though. I’m sure it would grow on me if I used it more often.
I rarely sit down long enough to make a full carton but if I did it probably would take about 50 minutes based on how long it takes me to make up a pack or two.@@user-kx2kb9dq3j
I want one. This looks like the best one I've seen so far. My Powermatic 2 is okay, but this one looks easier and faster and looks like it makes fuller cigarettes.
I started out with the Powermatic II + Saved enough money to get the Revolution. Was looking at this one to see if it was touchy about moisture and seems it has that also. Revolution does not do 100's. I spend more on tubes than tobacco. :(
I just got one I thought was this. But it does not have the density control. And I have used the PM2 for years and make mine tighter than either of the 2 settings come out. There is a 100 setting but I cut the tips off of my 100's now + then cause it has a different flavor and most smokes have something sticking out anyway. Oh crap I've got to return this and get this one.
Nice! Just ordered one. I went through a few of the manual machines, and was not happy with them. Broke the first one in a week, the second one I sent back, and the third one was messing up my shoulder - you have to yank it, or the tube is not filling up evenly. Had enough of it. I will definitely post how it works out. I have high hopes.
I invested in this machine and like it a lot. I would make a recommendation to add a small guiding LED light by the tube insertion point which is lower on the device. Most people will place this in or on a tray , mine is higher than most at 2-3" which creates some depth and shadow but still .. especially if I'm using it in dim lighting , the brightness of the LED screen on top blinds me to the tube insertion point. I'd recommend lowering the brightness of the top screen and adding a small light to illuminate where you put the tube especially because it has to be on there precisely to work. I know you're not the manufacturer but if you sell them maybe you can feed this back to them
This just looks like too many things to go wrong. I’ll stick to my Powermatic 2. Been using mine every single night for over a year now without issue. Ordered a backup about 8 months ago because it was giving me trouble. Turns out I just didn’t have the hand of it yet. Been smooth sailing ever since
I have the #2, and I noticed I save a shitload of money rolling my own cigarettes. But I have to smoke two of these, as to smoking 1 store bought. And you have to rewatch for the cherry falling off, I had one go thru my comforter, into the mattress. 🤔
Im confused tho.. I've had the orange hand crank "Top-O-Matic" roller for the last like, 10 years. It worked pretty much flawlessly the first 2-3 years and then it started acting up and wouldn't fill the tubes or the tobacco would like clump up inside the injection tube and took A LOT of force to push it through. And also, the tubes would just slide right off the loader. I struggled with that for the last 7-8 years because I'm cheap and don't really smoke all that much. However the other day I got fed up with it and ordered an electric roller made by "Tiyoah." It works amazingly well and doesn't cause me any stress or issues, at all. But, I noticed on yours and also mine it says "Avoid fine or long cut tobacco." Your tobacco is long cut as well as mine. The only other cut they make is fine. Soo, I don't understand what they're trying to say. My cigarettes are perfectly tight and fill the king size tubes all the way. But, my cherry keeps falling off and I don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix that issue..

It is so funny to see all these trollers on here because I am a smoker and I have had cancer. I did chemo and radiation therapy and survived but the most important thing I have to say is that I would rather have cancer and enjoy my life than to quit smoking and be miserable without my smoke. I used to to roll my own cigs, but never tried tubes and injectors. I just started to vape 2 weeks ago. Still on cigs, but my consumption is down to abt 2-3 a day. Still this machine looks cool
I tried vaping when it first came out. I developed a cough and had to stop it. Still have that cough today. Think I got a bad batch or something. Another friend of mine had same experience.

I tried vaping for a number of years, went back and forth between vaping and smoking, sometimes doing mostly one and sometimes the other, and I even quit for several months by vaping. (The reason I went back to smoking had nothing to do with urges or addiction... I never felt better and had no desire to smoke.) I always felt so much better when I was only, or at minimum, mostly vaping. But I was always careful about where I bought the ejuice and what kind of vaping products I bought. I've heard so many testimonies over the years from hard core smokers who had tried everything to quit for decades but only vaping worked. And I've heard countless stories of people with asthma and lung disease who saw a great improvement when they switched to vaping. But of course it may not work for everyone. And I can't help but wonder if there was something in what you were vaping that caused this problem. I never believed that vaping nicotine with well sourced ejuice caused a sudden rash of lung problem. I did think the make-your-own vape pens were too strong and might have caused lung problems.

That's right, two thousand two hundred and twenty five percent! After that, RYO became the same price as "store bought" in the US. His "mistake" was to only raise the price on bulk PIPE tobacco to one dollar a pound. So in response, US tobacco sellers started to sell unflavored "pipe" tobacco (two types of cuts are allowed under "pipe" tobacco. A long and a chip). So you will see US manufacturers selling "smooth pipe tobacco" instead of cigarette tobacco. Since this machine was designed for regular cigarette tobacco, much of the "smooth pipe tobacco" needs to be reshaped for it to work properly in this machine.

I really don't see much of a difference between this and 2+, except for a little packing of the tobacco and a counter (don't see the need for really). Save some money if you thinking about getting this and just get the 2+.
Why do all of these high end machines have the tubes dangling down instead of a tray? This one even has a tray, but on the other side. It's useful for catching stray tobacco and keeping the tube from falling.
I don't smoke but this machine is crazy. I'm based in Australia but going to buy one for my dad. So it only takes King size rolls? It looks like you could punch out a pack of cigarettes in only 3 minutes.

How long have you had it? My Top a matic is like 6 years old have had to replace injector almost once a year tip holder maybe 2xs and springs once.. but the main handle is starting to go was about to get the II but seen this one dont mind dropping the 250 but if it dont hold up screw that.. could always get a hopper for the 2 holds more Tobacco and makes stuffing easier
The machine should load the tubes automatically. So you add the tobacco. 20 tubes and then just turn it on. It is kinda shitty that you gotta put the tube on yourself.
Pipe tobacco isn't taxed nearly as high so it's common for people to use pipe tobacco. I wouldn't doubt that he used that cut because thats the most common type used. If you knew any of this, I don't mean to come across as an ass.

I really want one of these. I've been using a Powermatic II for 12 or 13 years, but I shied away from this one only because it concerned me how well-packed the cigs would come out. Plus, I overstuff mine sometimes because I tamp them down a few times each time I roll one. I'm not sure this would give enough extra tobacco to tamp them down and still be full. Has anyone else had these questions? It sure would be easier and faster with this if those questions would be answered.

I don’t smoke but my husband who is 80 years old does and has since he was 23. I don’t like it but he does! I just simply could not pay 62.00 a carton when I can make them for him for 10.00 a carton! He can’t get around anymore so I refuse to try to stop him from this bad habit! I will make them for him, pour his coffee and take his 3newspapers to him! I want him happy, he gave me the best possible 43 years of marriage and our kids thinks he is the greatest Dad on planet! They don’t even try to get him to stop!

Yes you can get the brown cigarillo tubes and put in some fluffy ground weed that’s not too sticky And run it. Then cut the filter off with some sharp scissors and you got a perfect Mini blunt. You can get those cigarillo tubes in 100 size which are Longer

I just use 100s and tap/bang pack em and twist the top to keep em closed up.

I get a pot grinder and grind the tabbacco up good and it doesn't matter if the tabbacco is wet or dry it works great.

A regular wooden pencil is also the exact size for a cig tube.
Bic ball point pen also helps restore an even opening in the tube

Price is alittle high.powermatic 2 works great and can be had for as little as 60bucks.i can tube up 10 packs in 45 min.

The only bad thing for the PM3 is that you're kind of screwed if you get a jam because of you can't access the inside without voiding the warranty as far as I know. I've also read the 1st version of the PM3 is much better than the 2nd version but you can't find the 1st version anywhere. I'm still using a PM2 because it works every time plus it's so easy to clear a jam, that helped me big-time when I started rolling my own.
My Powermatic III does a better job of evenly distributing and packing the tobacco than did my Powermatic II in which I had to manually distribute the tobacco. On rare occasions a cigarette will come out slightly loosely packed with the Powermatic III but I solved this by getting the Leaf Only cigarette finishing machine as an accessory. This little jewel not only flattens the end of the cigarette and rolls the paper edges inward but also does a fantastic job of making the tobacco settle in the tube toward the filter from the slight vibration encountered when the cigarette is inserted into the Leaf Only's finishing head.
I highly endorse the Powermatic III as a fast, convenient way of making your own smokes. Mine cost only a bit over $200 from Amazon and with the cost of ready roll cigarettes hitting $80 a carton in my state the Powermatic III is a money saver that soon pays for itself.
The only reason I would ever consider buying an electric roller would be so that I don’t have to pack the tobacco in myself. I don’t really see why anyone would want an electric roller that only preformed the same task that a crank does, but slower. I’ve been using the same Top-O-Matic machine for over a decade and I can roll quicker and more consistently with that than with an electric one.

If you go with the Powermatic III you will find your making time cut in half and your consistency in making perfect cigarettes more than doubled . Only weakness of the III is the cut of the tobacco. It doesn't like long cut tobacco but if your can cut it a little shorter it never misses.
@@CottonFarmer667 To each their own I guess. I’ve tried a few different electric ones and although the Powermatic III worked well I still feel I can get just as good a roll with my Top-O-Matic. I just dump a large pile of tobacco and tubes and hammer them out. I think I’ve just been doing it so long and have a feel for how I like it packed that it works better for me. Plus there’s virtually zero maintenance for my machine. I’m glad you like your Powermatic though. I’m sure it would grow on me if I used it more often.
How long does it take you to make a carton?
I rarely sit down long enough to make a full carton but if I did it probably would take about 50 minutes based on how long it takes me to make up a pack or two.@@user-kx2kb9dq3j

I started out with the Powermatic II + Saved enough money to get the Revolution. Was looking at this one to see if it was touchy about moisture and seems it has that also. Revolution does not do 100's. I spend more on tubes than tobacco. :(
I just got one I thought was this. But it does not have the density control. And I have used the PM2 for years and make mine tighter than either of the 2 settings come out. There is a 100 setting but I cut the tips off of my 100's now + then cause it has a different flavor and most smokes have something sticking out anyway. Oh crap I've got to return this and get this one.
I wish it did 100's. I also wish it had an automatic tube feeder that would hold 10 or 20 tubes so you don't have to feed it one by one.
It does roll 100’s really well. A lady posted a video on TH-cam making great 100s with this machine. She did it at a 4 and 5

I went through a few of the manual machines, and was not happy with them. Broke the first one in a week, the second one I sent back, and the third one was messing up my shoulder - you have to yank it, or the tube is not filling up evenly. Had enough of it. I will definitely post how it works out. I have high hopes.

I invested in this machine and like it a lot. I would make a recommendation to add a small guiding LED light by the tube insertion point which is lower on the device. Most people will place this in or on a tray , mine is higher than most at 2-3" which creates some depth and shadow but still .. especially if I'm using it in dim lighting , the brightness of the LED screen on top blinds me to the tube insertion point. I'd recommend lowering the brightness of the top screen and adding a small light to illuminate where you put the tube especially because it has to be on there precisely to work.
I know you're not the manufacturer but if you sell them maybe you can feed this back to them

Im confused tho.. I've had the orange hand crank "Top-O-Matic" roller for the last like, 10 years. It worked pretty much flawlessly the first 2-3 years and then it started acting up and wouldn't fill the tubes or the tobacco would like clump up inside the injection tube and took A LOT of force to push it through.
And also, the tubes would just slide right off the loader. I struggled with that for the last 7-8 years because I'm cheap and don't really smoke all that much.
However the other day I got fed up with it and ordered an electric roller made by "Tiyoah."
It works amazingly well and doesn't cause me any stress or issues, at all.
But, I noticed on yours and also mine it says "Avoid fine or long cut tobacco." Your tobacco is long cut as well as mine. The only other cut they make is fine. Soo, I don't understand what they're trying to say.
My cigarettes are perfectly tight and fill the king size tubes all the way. But, my cherry keeps falling off and I don't know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix that issue..

It is so funny to see all these trollers on here because I am a smoker and I have had cancer. I did chemo and radiation therapy and survived but the most important thing I have to say is that I would rather have cancer and enjoy my life than to quit smoking and be miserable without my smoke. I tried vaping for a number of years, went back and forth between vaping and smoking, sometimes doing mostly one and sometimes the other, and I even quit for several months by vaping. (The reason I went back to smoking had nothing to do with urges or addiction... I never felt better and had no desire to smoke.) I always felt so much better when I was only, or at minimum, mostly vaping. But I was always careful about where I bought the ejuice and what kind of vaping products I bought. I've heard so many testimonies over the years from hard core smokers who had tried everything to quit for decades but only vaping worked. And I've heard countless stories of people with asthma and lung disease who saw a great improvement when they switched to vaping. But of course it may not work for everyone. And I can't help but wonder if there was something in what you were vaping that caused this problem. I never believed that vaping nicotine with well sourced ejuice caused a sudden rash of lung problem. I did think the make-your-own vape pens were too strong and might have caused lung problems.
Powermatic 3 is under $250.00 at my local smoke shop. When my p.m. 2 takes a crap on me, I'll be getting a 3.

That's right, two thousand two hundred and twenty five percent! After that, RYO became the same price as "store bought" in the US. His "mistake" was to only raise the price on bulk PIPE tobacco to one dollar a pound. So in response, US tobacco sellers started to sell unflavored "pipe" tobacco (two types of cuts are allowed under "pipe" tobacco. A long and a chip). So you will see US manufacturers selling "smooth pipe tobacco" instead of cigarette tobacco. Since this machine was designed for regular cigarette tobacco, much of the "smooth pipe tobacco" needs to be reshaped for it to work properly in this machine.

I really don't see much of a difference between this and 2+, except for a little packing of the tobacco and a counter (don't see the need for really). Save some money if you thinking about getting this and just get the 2+.

Why do all of these high end machines have the tubes dangling down instead of a tray? This one even has a tray, but on the other side. It's useful for catching stray tobacco and keeping the tube from falling.

My Top a matic is like 6 years old have had to replace injector almost once a year tip holder maybe 2xs and springs once.. but the main handle is starting to go was about to get the II but seen this one dont mind dropping the 250 but if it dont hold up screw that.. could always get a hopper for the 2 holds more Tobacco and makes stuffing easier

The machine should load the tubes automatically. So you add the tobacco. 20 tubes and then just turn it on. It is kinda shitty that you gotta put the tube on yourself.

Pipe tobacco isn't taxed nearly as high so it's common for people to use pipe tobacco. I wouldn't doubt that he used that cut because thats the most common type used. If you knew any of this, I don't mean to come across as an ass.
@@richardrisley2882 the problem is that pipe tobacco just tastes disgusting and has nearly no strength. As someone who smokes Winston Red or Black, the pipe tobacco is like eating cotton candy.

I really want one of these. I've been using a Powermatic II for 12 or 13 years, but I shied away from this one only because it concerned me how well-packed the cigs would come out. Plus, I overstuff mine sometimes because I tamp them down a few times each time I roll one. I'm not sure this would give enough extra tobacco to tamp them down and still be full.
Has anyone else had these questions? It sure would be easier and faster with this if those questions would be answered.
