I'm happy to see Ash's battle went so quicky and smoothly and the main battle was with May and Norman. No stupidity from Max either.
This reminds of why Norman still stands out as a Gym Leader to me and why I’m disappointed that a similar dynamic has never happened again. Gen 3 is really one of a kind

This was really great. May had a really good gym battle against her dad and i am happy she won. I was not expecting may to be offered to be petalburg gym leader. I am looking forward to see how they will handle the league.
I imagine that when Zangoose uses Detect, the UI Theme plays for one second.
This captured and even exceeded the spirit of the original canonical anime. Game Freak should have had Norman be the 8th final gym leader of Hoenn with these teams.
While I am glad for May to have been offered by her father the Gym Leader position, I would rather have her travel the world for longer and even start to try out contests after becoming a accomplished trainer.
The reasoning is, because I would to see, how different this May is with her current experience.

This whole part was amazing. Honestly this might be one of my favorites. How both ash and may have grown has been amazing and the next future steps that may will end up taking, i could see a future part of ash vs may in the journeys era cause i could see this may ending up being quite high up in the rankings. Keep up the amazing work pickled dill. This might just be my favorite of your what ifs of both channels with it being tied with guardian goku and a little over good metal and Gary and pikachu.
