I can confirm that this is true just because sometimes I earn 2b from wormhole scanning but if u want to do it u have to be experience player on running those ghost sites but ones u got one your are on for a loads of Isk

Ive been living in 3 C13 wormholes for 3 months, scanning 30 signatures per wormhole every day and I havent seen one of these "ghost sites". How is that?
That's actually a good question, i have never seen one in c13 either. I used to have scanners in shattered wormholes and very often after DT i would find one though.

I usualy run the improved ones in Esoteria and I can find several per day. Maybe try out running the gurista versions in Tenal/Venal/Deklein as those regions seem to be rather quiet. The improved sites are still nice isk. Wormholes are like Eddie said. Highly dependant on luck and also how much scanning you are willing to do. Basically do C1/C2/C3 chains all the time and you should be able to find several of them if you keep doing it. However the burnout is very strong if you only focus extremely on these sites.
Real margin = ( market price ) - ( price of input materials ) With some of these BPs you get like 10%-20% margin because the input materials cost a damn lot, and also you can't sold these BPs itself for a anything near that price.
you only do it for the high-grade omega blueprint anyways since the others can drop in nullsec aswell and that one has ~4 billion isk profit if you build it

I get tons in null and low sec too, its not a secret people usually dont do it because if you run an Astero and you fail the data you pop like a popcorn.

They spawn in Shattered Jspace systems. Ghost sites spawn in all securities of Kspace, as well as in Shattered Jspace systems. The Kspace ones are nowhere near as valuable as this site though, seeming to range from 30mil/can in Highsec, to 500mil/can in Nullsec. I haven't had the opportunity to run many Nullsec ones though, so it may be more or less. EDIT: Looked into them a bit more closely, and it seems that superior ghost sites spawn in all high-class wormholes (C4-C6), not just shattered systems.
I’ve done this sites several times, but in current eve economy it’s very hard to make any profit from those implants, bc if it costs 450mil materials are like 440mil and selling bpcs via hypernet/contracts is just a lot of hustle
Is it just the omega that pulls in the money. I got a gamma implant the other day but after build costs your only gonna make a 100 million isk and thats if you go HARD on the buy orders. I would imagine the omega implant is somewhat similar. EDIT: Im assuming this because all I saw were the BPC's that drop not the actual implant.
I was in a wh corp and we used to do it in 3-4 ppl, warp in hack warp out. Obviously with a scanner and max skills is soloble, but just want to point out that you can do them with your corp mates and its fun to get blown ^^.
I don't think there is difference. It's totally random looks like. But generally i find them in c4 or c5 class space. I guesss, it's because low class is being scanned by a lot by explorers.

That not what you are doing ? Hi Nalim. Yes auto-sub is pretty bad and i didn't put appropriate/borderline any effort into making this. I can though answer few of your questions, please just ask. I am far from expert on matter and goal of presenting this was to help out people who love to do exploration and they can educate themselves further on a matter, as this was considered a tiny secret. Generally though these sites have fallen off really hard in terms of isk and lately(Since war started, i assume it's because supercap pilots don't buy these sets anymore that much) i am having trouble even finding them but that could be because i am primarily scanning low class wormholes recently, C4, C5 and C6 space seems to have fair number of these still. High-Grade Ascendacy Omegas cost half of what they used to cost right now, whilst second best implant Epsilon has more than halved in price. On a bright side, mobile tractor unit blueprint copies are still exceptionally great and are quite often found, for example 'Magpie' Mobile Tractor Units - 375million per blueprint. As for general concept of finding and hacking these. They are found everywhere in wormhole space specifically, yet extremely rare. They are Data signatures with level 3 strength on your prove overview, which are often left unscanned because explorers scan for relics and low tier data sites and obviously nearly all data level 3 sites are with NPCs. You are looking for a site that starts with name Superior. You want to warp to a site once you are fully cloaked visually as decloaking/initiating warp without cloak starts a hidden timer until NPCs spawn and explode containers and your ship unless you have a very specific fit that can tank explosive damage and rats for a while, which i personally have never used. This info is something i got from internet years ago and may be wrong as i never double checked initial information i gathered, as i didn't feel the need. I was hacking good stuff very successfully this way anyway. Once in a site, you want to decloak and scan containers and obviously only hack good ones(pretty much only ones that have blueprints in them), half the time you wont even have 1 container to hack and rarely two. Generally you hack one(don't fail or your ship will explode) and get out fast. As to questions you asked. I have spare ships in my wormholes with cheap fits, that only have rigs and equipment needed to hack these sites, as when you explode you loose your ship, so therefore a lot of times i don't have probes because i scanned with my different ship and then gotten cheap hacking ship to hack it. If i understand correctly, i usually hide signature that is a return wormhole from where i came, so therefore i know that signature. As to warping to completely unscanned system - there are several explanations, for example my friend scanned it and bookmarked a site or i had a disconnect or me scanning system down with another character. As mentioned above if you have more questions, please ask and i'll do my best to answer with my limited knowledge on a matter. I am not an explorer(What is the bar for it even? I have done hundreds of these sites), i PVP exclusively but i've incorporated hacking these as my side income during my adventures in wormholes space.
The NPC's are on a timer that can be as low as 30 seconds (apparently.) The timer starts when you start an uncloaked warp to the site or decloak after warping. So you scan the hacking cans to find the ones with good loot then hack as fast as you can and try to leave before they arrive. Cancelling or failing the hack will explode the cans which deals enough to 1-shot a frigate or a poorly tanked cruiser so expect to lose a ship occasionally if you are doing these multiple times. One other method is to take a strong ship that is capable of surviving the explosion AND the rats that appear but you will be risking a lot more isk and the rats will scram you so your tank better be good. I heard that the rats leave after 20-30 seconds but deal high damage and will explode the cans even if you have not failed any so try this method at your own risk.

Glad to hear information is helping. I just used "Cargo scanner" midslot. I have a hotkey setup for it, so i just target cans and click in this case "R" hotkey.

I tend to scan with ships that not are not meant for hacking but for scanning/travelling speed. So i just return to home and reship for scanner with no probes, so in case it explodes i save faction probe launcher.

Yes, you can find these loot, sell them for isk, then buy 500 plex from that earned isk, usually 1.2-14 billion then buy omega time in game with the plex.
Guys. Just because finished product of some blueprint costs 250m it doesn't mean he made 250m. Those numbers are completely wrong. He would sell them blueprint for 25m maybe, not 250m.

Press "L" button in game and it will open "Saved locations" tab and you can place it wherever you want.

Its a compilation, took months most likely, exploring with multiple accounts as you can see.
why do you fit a ship scanner, does it help you in any way in these sites?
It's to be able to scan ships during PVP or if you find capitals.

People will buy mid range BPCs - only sell for 30m ISK or so, depends on difference between build cost and sale value, but they do go to contracts.

Guys. Just because finished product of some blueprint costs 250m it doesn't mean he made 250m. Those numbers are completely wrong. He would sell them blueprint for 25m maybe, not 250m.
