We are very sorry to hear this Dee and we are sending you prayers and strength and also peace in the mist of this setback as you navigate though this time. It makes me wonder why they pushed for your to have a fistular, if your dialysis clearances was OK with a line, why change (If it ain’t broke…), only change if (God forbid) something goes wrong with your line, and then they can switch sides before trying the fistular option. Personally I’ve found that I’ve always had to advocate for myself on this kidney journey, from the very moment I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2019 to present day on HD dialysis. I listen to what the nurses have to advise but if I don’t agree, I don’t do it, regardless of what it is. IMO they are trained to look after a kidney patient but they are not the ones living with kidney disease / failure so ultimately they have no idea how it truly feels / how it affects etc. My heart goes out to you and I feel for you. Thank you for keeping us updated.
