This list is pretty good, although Ross isn’t completely without fault, Rachel basically tried to sabotage every time Ross was in a happy relationship, it isn’t completely one sided.

Ross doesn't belong on this list because he deserved Rachel. He deserved the ending he got.
Rachel ruined 2 of Ross's relationships when he was happy (Julie and Bonnie) and a third time, flew to England to tell him she loved him right before his wedding. Later, she also forbad him from even dating anyone while she was pregnant even though she didn't want to be with him. She doesn't want Ross, but doesn't want him to be happy with someone else either. How is she the victim?

Bonnie was unlikely to be a long-term relationship.
Arguably, Rachel indirectly saved Ross from an unhealthy relationship; he barely knew Emily, so he never saw her ugly side until he said the wrong name. The whole relationship was rushed. While Emily is justified in being upset, the steps she creates for Ross were overly controlling, and ultimately cruel, as she would force him apart from his best friends out of spite.
Ross was okay with not dating when Rachel was pregnant though.
Anyway, Ross wasn't an angel when first dating Rachel. He was afraid that his ex-wife, Carol's wife, Susan, would *steal* Rachel when they were traveling together; though, he only shared this fear with Carol.
When Mark appeared, he became obsessive, and disruptive to her career, and extremely controlling even though Rachel had no romantic interest in Mark at the time.
Rachel and Mark were going to attend a fashion speech, but Ross' suspicion drove him to convince her to take him instead. He fell asleep, disrupting the event; afterwards, Rachel chastises him for going despite his lack of interest, and in response, he complained about it being boring - both deflecting responsibility and (perhaps unintentionally) demeaning her career.
When Rachel finally vented her frustrations about his controlling behaviour, he accused her of having feelings for Mark; while he quickly back-pedaled due to her answer, the fact that he even held the suspicion shows his lack of trust. Yet when Rachel is angry that he slept with copy place girl during their break, he eventually landed on being indignant about it.
Ross' issues with trust and being irrationally suspicious are definitely consequences of the breakdown of his first marriage with Carol, however, he didn't need to carry those negative feelings against a completely different person.
I mean, his insecurities about marriage drove him to avoid annulling the drunk wedding he and Rachel had in Vegas. She was partially to blame for the idea (albeit, being that drunk means that she didn't have complete agency), but his insane decision to keep the marriage legally biding until the truth came out was worse than initiating the marriage.
That all said, Rachel can be vapid, selfish, superficial, possessive, and short-sighted. They kind of deserve each other. lol
For fairness, just a few flaws they both shared.
Ross started dating one his students, which is highly inappropriate for more than the decade wide age gap. He also displays creepy controlling behaviour with her, following her to spring break out of paranoia.
Rachel hired Tag because she was attracted to him; it is unethical and not permitted for someone in her position to date their receptionist. She is weirdly possessive just from a crush; before they are dating, she sabotages other women's attempts to date him.
Both are really petty. Ross refuses to acknowledge he was in the wrong for immediately hooking up with someone else while they WERE ON A BREAK. And Rachel herself for accusing Ross of cheating; she can be mad, yet they were split at the time, thus not cheating.
Although, Ross had another instance of hypocrisy when he felt that Rachel was dating too soon after a break up, to which Chandler pointed out he moved on the same day he believed his relationship was over.
Rachel wrote 18 pages (front and back!), yet expected Ross to read it all that late at night. He was in the wrong to lie about finishing the pages, but still.
When questioned about who initiated the conception of Emma, Rachel claims it was Ross, even though it wasn't; she was confident that she wouldn't get caught out, so let everyone watch the before parts of the accidental sex tape. The tape shows her being irresponsible and mocking Monica's rules about the wedding invitations. Also, it reveals Rachel made the first move because she unwittingly used Joey's seduction story. When caught, she is confused, but doesn't admit that she lied.
That is why Rachel deserved Ross. They were a karmic couple. They deserved each other because of how terrible they were.
The sad thing is bad characters have happy endings in real life. So many don’t ever face the consequences of their crappy actions.
I'm gonna be honest , Ross may be not perfect or my favorite character , but this thought of "poor Rachel" and "Ross is the bad guy" seems to forced to me , watching Friends i know his behavior wasn't great sometimes , but Rachel's behavior and actions never are on the table
Dude, Rachel makes me laugh, but as a person, she should never be in a relationship. She doesn't know what she wants and is super controlling. She ruined Ross's relationships when he was happy then turned around and said she didn't want to be with him. This is a women who should not be with anyone.
If she didn't show up , Ross wouldn't have said her name

Ross is the archetypical "r/niceguy" need I say more on him and Rachael was petty, vindictive, entitled and despite never knowing what she wanted, she was willing to hurt anyone she thought was stopping her from getting what she thought she wanted
Rachael wanted to be with Ross only when he was with someone else, not when he wanted to be with her.
Rachel deserved Ross because of her badness. They were a bad karma couple. This is why Ross deserved the ending he got.

Ross was far from perfect, but he was a good friend. For example, he bought Phoebe a bicycle when he found out that she never had one as a kid. As for Rachel, are we supposed to forget her calling Julie a manipulative bitch when Julie wanted to befriend Rachel b/c she knew that Rachel meant a lot to Ross?
Now do the opposite list of the TV Characters who deserved their Bad Endings.
For example: The Roys siblings from Succession as none of the sibling become CEO of Waystar and just like their dad said, They are not serious people.
But I believe the father was wicked too, because he never had any intention of giving it to any of them from day one, but strung them along to do his bidding.
He did this... to his own children.

Ross is a great character though, and I’m sure many others would agree with me. If anything Rachel was worse than Ross, never letting him move on and getting jealous EVERY SINGLE TIME he did.

Never watched a single Glee episode yet I know for a FACT, Rachel didn't deserve a happy ending. Like, at all.
She did though. Since you never watched, I guess you are unaware other characters did worse things than Rachel and no lasting consequences for them. Rachel at least worked for what she got. She is the classic example of people hating her just because she was the lead female.
@@suz2590 So, it was okay for her to lead someone to a well-known crack den, falsely accusing a previous glee club director of inappropriately touching a student because she didn't get a solo she believed she rightfully deserved, and when she tried to get with Blaine knowing that Kurt really liked him. I've got plenty of examples to go off on, but then list would be too long.
I may not watch the show, but I see clips on TH-cam, and this is what she did. She didn't deserve to get bullied in high school, no one does, but that doesn't excuse her behavior, either. This isn't an example of hating the female lead just because they are the female lead. You are entitled to defend her just like I'm entitled to dislike her, and that's all.

I never liked Glee, I always got the vibe that everyone was an asshole but played friends with eachothers. Very fake.

Cannot stand Rachel Berry or the actress who played her.
I agree that Chuck Bass should have received consequences, but a rich person getting away with crimes was the most realistic part of the show.
Not to mention that he was targeted by his wealthy father who tried to kill him when he showed up after being dead and sought to destroy Chuck, his friends, and everything Chuck had built for himself; Heck, he attempted to Kill Chuck, Chuck fought back in self defense, and ended up killing him to save his life and that of his friends.
Plus, although his marriage to Blaire conveniently kept the police from interrogating both of them (Due to Chuck's father having the police commissioner in his pocket) They genuinely loved each other, and had developed a lot over the series and even were willing to do their wedding small and quick (Especially since Blaire already had her fairy tale wedding with Louis)
As for him taking over his family business; his development over the series run makes him a much better and more moral businessman than his father ever was.
Rachel was great, I guess you didn't get the humor of glee.

I always wondered why Rachel was talked up as THE best singer of the Glee Club, when others, including Santana, Mercedes and Kurt, were just as talented. In fact, it makes no sense why Rachel would be accepted into her dream school over Kurt.
Mercedes was insanely talented. I agree with you. The others were just as talented as Rachel.
It does not help that Rachel’s actress in real is just as bad as she is on the show if not worse!

One could argue that Ted in fact didn’t have a happy ending. We all know how him and robin don’t work at all.

Rachel was as bad as Ross. That is why she put up with him. They were each other's bad karma. Rachel always reacted badly when Ross tried to find someone else.
Negan's story is ongoing. Also, I think it is implied that Annie left Negan between TWD and Dead City.
Please don't bring up Ted. It's literally the WORST sitcom ending. It was NOT happy. His wife dying on him after 9.5 seasons is NOT happy.
Another character that deserved NOTHING she got was Lauren Tanner from Make It Or Break It. She constantly tried to one up her teammates or downright sabotage them yet still gets every opportunity to continue to Olympic gymnastic glory. Even when she ended up with heart issues that almost derailed this, for some weird reason the friends she backstabbed SEVERAL times, still choose to try & help her 🤦♀️

y’all will vilify Ross Geller but ignore Brooke Davis getting away with every selfish action of hers and always having friends she doesn’t deserve and success she didn’t earn.
Brooke had the best character development, what are you talking about? I think Peyton and Lucas were actually the worst characters! I agree, Brooke had some bad traits at the beginning of the seasons but she was a spoiled brat with an evil mother so anybody would be like that. She was the one that grew the most and became the best character, to me!
Brooke had the best redemption arc, in addition to carrying OTH on her back for 9 seasons!

It did not annoy me one bit, Rachel Berry got a great life and a Tony. She matured and worked her way back. People need to stop acting like Rachel the worse glee character. Sue bullied, black mail and attempted murder and got VP of the US. Santana bullied people every day, black mailed, got people sick and end up with the love of her life. Quinn committed parental fraud, cheated and tried to frame Shelby but went to Yale. Will was creepy and ended up being the principal. They all did bad things, regressed and learned and end up winning. Your resentment is delicious, though.
Personally I think Ted doesnt deserve to be on the list, hes in his 20s making mistakes and learning from them.
Cora from Once upon a time should definitely be on this list she has a death count in the 1000's apandoned her first daughter and tried to live vicariously through her second daughter even killing her first love. I could list more crimes but id be here all day.
Even after all that she still got to go to heaven in the underworld arc.
Ted needed to stay with the Zoe. She might have been the best choice of all. The problem with the show was it was written from. The start he was going to end up with Robin. The writers just didn’t have any balls to change course and went with it no matter how well he worked with other characters.
Angela Martin actually changed for the better and she was really humiliated as well and went through poverty for a while. I am glad she was kicked off her high horse and realised she had to be better if not always humble. Ross never outgrew his stalker incel phase. Angela outgrew her bitch and asshole phase

Cora from OuaT. Her actions throughout her adult life made her moment of going to heavens pretty outrageous. Yeah, she did a great thing to her daughters in that episode, but some viewers didn’t believe she got enough redemption to earn heavens.
I know Ross isn't a perfect character, but I believe Phoebe was the most selfish character.
Carrie and Big DESERVE EACH OTHER! You have 2 toxic and self absorbed people who fell for each other. They deserve each other. Same with Ross and Rachel. Ross was toxic but so was Rachel. Ross gets alot of hate but Rachel has done alot too. She wasn't innocent in all of their history. They deserve each other too. The Ted and Robin thing STILL angers me to this day. Plus, I still find it weird that his kids were pushing him to go be with Robin.
The book series that Vampire Diaries is based on, ended with Elena choosing Stefan, NOT Damon. The book series was different, and better, in most of everything. Unfortunately, L.J. Smith sold herself out for money. Thankfully Secret Circle was cut off at the knees before it turned into a toxic mess from the book series too.

The only memorable relationships of Ross which did not end because of Rachel were Elisabeth & Charlie (though the latter was ruined by her ex).

None of these people actually had a happy ending, it’s just that we left their stories before their ultimate downfalls!
My pick is Ian and Mickey from Shameless. I dont care how many people love that relationship, they are an abusive relationship and the fact they end up happily together at the end of the series is just plain wrong.
I will always be in the "fuck Chuck Bass" side of the GG fanbase. Guy was awful from start to finish the only reason you can even say character development for him is because the character started at the lowest possible level so he had to somehow improve but even then he sucks. I think Ted and Ross are little unfairly on here. Also Dan Scott probably got a love from the fans because the actor that played him was probably the best actor of the whole show.

I’m pretty positive this list is about the characters the actors play and not about the actors themselves. I’m pretty certain, for example, that Jon Hamm is a really nice guy. All the list was implying was that the CHARACTER he played on Mad Men was not a good guy. Similarly, Rachel on Glee had a really strong narcissistic streak and thought mainly about herself. Ending up w Jessie and a Tony while giving back the gift of life she was given as a child was the absolute perfect ending for her. If Rachel had scripted her own life, it would have read this way (altho Finn would have been there prior to his death).

Rachel Berry definitely didn't deserve that happy ending; especially after what she pulled in season 5 when she quit NYADA for Broadway then quit Broadway for a failed tv pilot.
What that makes no sense. Others in glee did worse and got to have a happy ending.
Rachel in "Friends" was toxic as well.
She broke up three of Rosa's relationships.
At least when Ross tried to have a relationship, he wanted a long term committed one. Rachel would have meaningless flings with no intention of long term commitment but based totally on lust and trying to one up Ross. She even hired one guy for a job not because he was the best candidate, but because she thought he was hot.
She also cheated on her maid of honor with her ex-finance, whose she ran out on at their wedding.
Also, she was ONLY interested in Ross after she found out he liked her, when it was obvious to everyone.
It takes two to tango and both are bad. It is just the feminists who put all the blame on Ross when it is shown that Rachel is just as bad in some ways.
She also exploded at Ross when he set up a romantic dinner for their anniversary while she was at work. Even if she was busy, she could have been nicer about it. Instead, she got angry about something 99.99% women would have found romantic.

Tbh with Damon, he was always angry that his whole life ended because of Stefan. So a lot of his bad deeds leading up to his first scene were some sort of sad coping and revenge answer for being turned against his will. After that, I think he just came to embrace it, and Elena as a vampire suits him better than when she was human (she suited Stefan more in that regard).
Ted Mosbey had a great arch and the ending was only jarring because we couldn't understand it. Robin and Barney were doomed from jump but we are too conditioned to understand that at first glance. Ted found happiness only when he stopped trying to chase some fairytale ms perfect and focused on what was best for his life and the final episode shows how Ted's devotion to what's best for him as opposed to some code brought him happiness. Yeah maybe Ted and Robin won't stay together forever, but they're happy now

I really do not understand why everyone always says that Rachel Berry was the worst character on Glee. Take the actress out of it. All the characters were shit human beings. Mr. Schue, Sue, Santana, Quinn and Puck were way worse and did awful things to people. The rest were supremely bitchy too.
Hell, even in real life Mark Salling and Blake Jenner did worse things than Lea Michele. However, none of the cast condems Blake Jenner and Kevin Mchale called out a fan who scribbled out Mark Salling's face from a cast picture.

I agree with eight of them, but Ross finally getting back together with Rachel is very deserved and Damon Salvatore getting together with Elena is also deserved 🥳. If you can find more undeserved redemption character shows hope for an eventual part 2 please 🤞?

This catty little narcissist somehow managed to make every fucking situation about her and her problems. Her and lead character Oliver's relationship was the most toxic shit ever seen by man.
Yet despite that, Oliver decided it was still a good idea to invite Felicity into a paradise dimension for the rest of eternity, which knowing her, she'd just find another thing to complain about.
THANK YOU! I love Emily but she and Stephen had the worst chemistry and Oliver's relationship with Felicity was so toxic.
There should be a list of couples who deserved each other because they were bad people. Raymond and Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond, Carrie and Mr. Pig from SATC, and lots of other shows.

Society seems more condemning of celebrities and the rich and famous than real criminals these days.
People fell inferior to the famous but they don't feel inferior to criminals. They already have the high moral ground over them, but want to tear down successful people so that they don't feel so insecure.
That, or they are just shitty people who hate to see others happy.
Dan Scott went to prison for years and was tortured. So I wouldn't say he didn't experience the consequences.
What about Riva from Kenobi? She ran around kidnapping an innocent daughter cutting an innocent woman's all sorts of other crimes and terroristic activity then suddenly has a last-minute change of conscience and all is forgiven? Give me a break?
On the plus side, Mr. Big was killed off in the sequel series.
Damon from Vampire Diaries did deserve his happy ending. He did redeem himself as the seasons went on
I'm glad that Hannah Horvath from HBO Girls didn't desrvered happy ending because she is the worst, she never said sorry to her friends, always blaming everyone but herself, her problem relationship with Adam, never confess that she had some mistakes that she made, and always a terrible friend to Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna, that girl is a mess.
Yeah, Carrrie Bradshaw was a mess In every relationship she was in and she deserves that top spot for sure.
I disagree with the Negan on. He did soften but kept some of his darker side as he did so - especially when he went undercover to trap Alpha. Not one of the worst redemption arcs out there in TV.
Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory did not deserve a happy ending. He was arrogant and mean to everybody else. He deserved to end up all alone and miserable.

Otherwise, Sheldon was an arrogant obnoxious egoncentric sociopath, without any sense of empathy, a trully shitty friend. Sure, he's basically a special needs person, but to this day I don't understand why would anybody put up with that kind of abuse willingly.

Edith Crawley from Downton Abbey is my number one. What she did to the Drewe family was so messed up.
No Dexter (not counting the reboot)? Didn't he get away with everything and then pin it on his sister? Him not sitting in jail for life or getting the death penalty sounds like an undeserved happy ending.
Ted Mosby? Happy ending? His freakin wife and mother of his children died! That’s not getting your cake and eating it too.
Besides, it isn't like he ran out on her with Robin. She died, and so he is allowed to move on.
People should have more compassion for a widower.
Yet Barney in HIMYM treated women like sex objects and slept around, yet viewers turned a blind eye at his disgusting behaviour and you wanted him to end up with Robin, even though someone like Barney would have cheated within a year and broken her heart, guaranteed.
Rachel Berry should have been kicked out of the glee club and blacklisted from the entertainment industry. She is one of the examples of a character who "is willing to do whatever it takes to reach the top", including sabotaging the competition and ruining careers just for her own benefit. Hopefully that Tony is all she got before something caused her career to crash and burn.
If Ross is on this list, Rachel should be on this list too, in a much higher position no less.
Life has funny sense of humor. When i was a kid friends was the most popular show on the air and even then i knew ross was trash but i still found myself adapting some of his romantic traits. Partly because of the amount of media telling me good guys win in the end. Tldr they dont. Never in fact. I tried so hard to be an honorable man but ended up alienating all my friends/ lovers. 😅 after a cosmic amount of death, job loss, and shit luck i was at rock bottom. The cherry on top? I was working at a theater during a grueling legal battle with a former employer, looked up at a costumer trying to buy something and its DAVID f'ing SWIMMER. after that 😂 i accepted my lesson and walked away from life for a long while as i knew i didn't deserve a happy ending. Then i watched as every rapist, fboy, and gang member i saw growing up got wives and families 😅 cant make this ish up. Life's a ball of butter.
Funny, because good guys do win, and in fact did, in the very same show.
Chandler also got a happy ending, a great marriage, adopting children, a new career and a new house.
Chandler was sarcastic but generally a nice guy, and he was devoted to Monica, even when she was bossy. So good guys do sometimes win.
Too bad it didn't work out as well with Matthew Perry in real life.
