I discovered these guys 3 years ago, & just LOVE the live band, especially the full horn section! I don't believe great music ever dies, regardless of genre
That was awesome. I have this album,& it sounds good, but this is so tight & clean with those drums & that bass grove. I love great performances with great audio.
Oh when this came out, NEVER got tired of hearing it-so unique. I thought if I heard the Macarena one more time I would RIP my ears out but this, oh yeah!
I still love jazz hop but Herbie Hancock is the true master, the original was written 30 years before this performance and I still love it more than 50 years later.
"Cantaloop + Tukka Yoot's Riddim (outro)" could be the exact title for this performance. I have to admit i bought this CD back in the day and i stll got it, don't ask me. Cheers partner.
Awesome. Thanks for this. They're such a great and unique band, but way underrated (which is not necessarily a bad thing). And Jon Stewart is so young here too!
This is how I would spend many of my nights after a long day of work.....taping and watching live performances of many types of music. I was always much more interested in the music than I was the interview segments of these shows - of the Hollywood types, that is. Luckily, I received good advice on the equipment to use. I just wish I had been more diligent about the type of tape I recorded with, since the color would not always come out "true". The most important thing was to get a stereo feed, whenever possible!
First heard this tune in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. That Steve Carell movie nobody remembers probably. Damn, never guessed that to be Jon Stewart until the end... Looks a lot less of a douche back then.
HORRIBLE. Just the worst version ever. Which goes to show the value of studio professionals and studio musicians. The studio version is awesome. This is SO bad it's like a parody.

Still a hit 2024 🎉
30 years later I introduce this CD to my 17 year old. He LOVES IT! I still love it!

I have the album and I LOVE the trumpet solo. One of my favorites.
Good all days back in the 90's, this tune is a evergreen, never dies.

❤❤❤❤❤❤
Does anybody knows the exact date when this aired?
Thanks.
Was JRoc from Trailer Park Boys on this joint? 🤣
Nice old reference
Look and listen to the original track of Herbie Hancock....with Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland and Pat Metheny...less rap - more jazzy groove 🤙
yeah, so me
I think Naughty By Nature was first to mix hip hop with jazz, with "Everything's Gonna Be Alright'. Can any one prove me wrong?
Actually A Tribe Called Quest did I first
speed king!! Toshiaki Nishioka!!!
Nice jazz, rap music.
The song sounds much better in the studio
I dont like this versión... to much yeap yeap yeap yeap yeap ... great music
My middle school

John Stewart
🌈😎🌈
Who else is listening in 2031?
Who is that drummer?
Keyboard sounds a little funky, funky. I mean literally. Sounds off key.
This lacked all the class and confidence of the album version.
Serious?? Thought this was an amazing all live effort
h
Not the original trumpeter. Not as good as Gerard Presencer.
So this is really the only good song... Sad most rappers clowned on them...
Sorry, but it feels sterile.
HORRIBLE. Just the worst version ever. Which goes to show the value of studio professionals and studio musicians. The studio version is awesome. This is SO bad it's like a parody.
LOL, you just made me think of In Living Colour musical parodies - those were priceless!
0:05 Pre LIBTURD John Stewart
Brilliant mix of musicians.....
