    THIS IS THE MOST ELEGANT BLUES I EVER HEARD!!!

    • @Lorenzovic
      @Lorenzovic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not actually a blues, in terms of structure, but a modal piece with a very strong blues feeling.
      The first 8-bar section in F minor 7 makes us think so: within each bar there is a sort of I-IV-V-IV-I movement that suggests it.
      The rest is created by the sound and the great swing of the musicians.
      (A bit like "So What" by Miles Davis: it's no coincidence that the album was titled "KIND of Blue")

    Freddie Hubbard produces such a fat sound on his trumpet. With Miles Davis and Lee Morgan, Hubbard is one of the greatest trumpeters of the bebop generation. Joe Henderson is deceptively smooth at the beginning of his solo, then at the 4:50 mark he starts to head OUT THERE. He is mighty and complex on the tenor sax. How awesome is Hancock's group. Thanks for posting the video (10 years ago!)

Floppy Leather hats, Superfly hats with feathers, leather jackets, t shirts too. and Freddie unfortunately often sported a lot of polyester, color coordinated two piece outfits. tan. orange. powder blue. oi. ouch.
