We do not have any kids but I get upset seeing kids on their phones all the time, be that waiting for a train or just walking. They miss so much of their surroundings and can be dangerous too if they don’t notice where they are going. Even mums on the phon and ignoring their baby’s especially on buses and then wonder why they are screaming. Sorry for my little rant but I do enjoy watching your family explore the world around them, and that’s what they should do, have fun and learn. It’s so refreshing. Am looking forward to your next video have a lovely week. Thanks

I guess that’s exactly the issue I am talking about. I know it’s not fair to broad stroke all Singaporean parents, but I definitely see a lot of parents handing screens to kids. I say this as I type on the MRT and Aspen is sitting down.. not a great example I guess 😂

Parenting has always been a challenge. Some days getting it right and others not. I feel you are a very considerate and thoughtful parent, still makes it difficult at times. 💜

Every household / family got its own peculiar problems. Also all humans are different and so are kids everyone has their own unique personality & character. Even they are your kids they are totally different and needs different approaches. It takes a lot of love, patience, & effort to guide, lead and correct kids to mature. The toughest years are when they turn adolescence & teens.

I guess the person commenting was referring to academic rote learning - the paper chase - which kids are put through nowadays. Your approach is therefore more holistic and well rounded. I wouldn't say Asian parents are "selfish" but in fact the opposite! The push for academic excellence comes from the need to make sure kids get the best of everything - the best schools for the best education for the best results for the best courses for the best jobs etc etc. Times have changed. Had I told my mum many years ago that I can make money making videos of myself I would have gotten a tight slap to the head!! Hence your modern parenting style fits the evolving nature of our current lifestyles. Maybe soon, Singaporean schools (as opposed to International schools) will evolve and adopt a more holistic education system. We see hints of that happening.
On screen times, I do feel there's no one size fits all. For example, my son is autistic and his screens are his security blanket. It may not be easy for everyone to fully understand that but we have tried a variety of solutions. Now he is technically already an adult. We never really know exactly what others are going through in their lives.
Lets catch up with a cuppa some day. Although we are in the same property, I have not had the pleasure of bumping into you and your lovely family! Keep up the inspirational vlogs, I certainly enjoy them!

Hi! Thanks for taking time to respond! I love your thoughts and I agree Singaporean parents are not selfish - at least, I agree that not ALL Singaporean parents are selfish! But same goes for all parents 😂 I definitely struggle with my own selfishness at times and I’m just grateful for my wife’s grace 😂 A coffee some time sounds great!
