Everything what's happening now is about Europeans wanting to preserve their ancient heritage. Last year we went for a weekend to Luxembourg, Brussel and Amsterdam. Same as in Rome. Very crowded.

I loved Rome so much, I would go out walking and pretend I was Italian, I did speak a bit of the language but just interacting with those lovely people, I left Roma an Italian woman. WHat a gorgeous breakfast buffet, it has made me so hungry. I must stay at Hassler Roma next time.

It’s a bit eerie to watch this in September 2020. Seeing so many people in crowds and being close together knowing how devastated Italy was by Covid19 is hard to watch. It’s going to be a while longer, but I so look forward to returning to the beautiful Eternal City.

Beautiful venue! The Spanish Steps were a bit too energetic for my taste but thanks for the luxury stroll around Rome. Your turkey-ham and cheese is just up my ally. Also, the tortoise chair at 17:14 was just amazing! I grew up in Southern CA with a desert tortoise as a pet ❤️ they make me happy.
Yep missed the tortoise chair the first day but on the 2nd day I knew it had to be seen by the whole world, glad you like it too. Yours must have been such a sweet one :) You have pics of it? The Spanish Steps were really something you'll just have to be there to appreciate it, esp. when little ones/doggies go up and down very cute.

Me too, I'm tiny but can move super fast weaving in and out of the crowds in my sneakers. Don't care for certain kind of crowds but love it when happy, stylish people mill around and not trying to crush me haha. Babies and adorable doggies in the crowd make me smile too. I love to get mail, esp. the fun/lovely kind (present company's included), so I make time to respond :) Here's to happy watching more of my movies!

It was high season this time, though - what with people traveling more often lately, plus it was the holidays combined with Rome national January Sales (the hotel staff told me). I was floored, too, at first glance of the size of the crowd :) Btw, just curious, did they have January national sales 10 years ago?
@@alexisluxurytravels1 I'm not sure if they had sales in the same month back then. I didn't visit at that time, so can't say. But I imagine it played a huge factor with the crowds. The mayor sight were all overcrowded back then as well. Vatican Museum had a big queue, St. Peter. Colosseum. It was great though. I miss it. Hope you had a great time.

I used to travel on average every six week, though not all trips make it to TH-cam, if you will - because contrary to popular belief, not all travels are so glamorous and there are some silly hotels out there I'd rather forget. Still, I'm ready for the next one. Can't wait for all this to blow over. Sounds like you had a great time in Rome too :)

I lack the budget but accept this , and stayed in hostels. The people I've met. I have the craziest stories to share and they all have a special place in my heart. The nice and even not so nice experiences (which are also a part of it). Travelling is an addiction. And the people that get it, are the same I think. The hotel in Paris you've stayed at was magnificiant! It looked like a fairytale. So I can enjoy the lifestyle a bit from a afar. Do you have an idea where your next trip will go?
