I cant wait to see what to see the stages. I know the built gt500 motor we had, was a monster. It was putting done a monster 1, 116 hp. Inside a 03 gt.
great content. Would be nice if AM coordinated with VMP. VMP pulley setup is a little simpler (they provide a tool for the job) and looks stock. Stock look is preferred for us CA folks.
It seems like the '10 - '12 Shelbys are not as responsive to the same basic mods as the '07 - '09 Shelbys. After stage 3 for this one, I think they will both be pushing about the same power. Maybe this one needs a good set of long tubes to wake it up.
The reason for this is that the 2011-2012 GT500 motors are essentially the 2007-2009 GT500 motors with some upgrades. It's why those boltons give the 07-09 cars stock 11-12 power.
Hi AM! ... I have a question , how come does this 2012 GT500 puts less power after the stage 2 than the 07-09 GT500 that on stage 2 put down 548RWHP and the 12' put down 532RWHP?
So we can buy all the bolt ons for this build on your page? Can you also gives us recommendations to find the best shops around our areas to help us install them?
+Carlos Lugo Hey Carlos, of-course, we have all the parts listed in this video and you can get them right on our site! In regards to shops in the area, I would recommend talking to some local groups/clubs/ forums as unfortunately, we only know the ones in our area! - Will
Whatever happened with Project Coyote? You only did 3 stages while grabber boost got 4. I was really looking forward to seeing stage 4 of Project Coyote.
Justin, I have to say you have the 2nd best job in the world, behind only that of a certain 3rd string NFL QB who makes nearly 8mil/year to absolutely nothing, I heard he is heading to Philly... So I think the world wants to know, which Stang do you drive? Dan's graced the center of AM's March 14 edition. Is yours going to be in April 14's?
Looks like there might be a quarterback swap going on in that situation! Justin is currently working on his car and I'm sure he's excited to drop a video about it next week! -Chris
Haha, don't get me started on Sanchez coming to the Eagles Sean! I'm not thrilled with having a guy who's most known for the 'Butt Fumble' wearing an Eagles uniform, but I think that's the least of our worries right now. As for the job, I couldn't agree more- except I might put 'fighter pilot' in the number 1 spot- the coolest job ever, while defending our country = win/win. And Dan's car is waaay cooler than mine, so it's all good... :) -Justin
I like that way you're thinking, 88gt306! You can see where the gains were minimal top-end, but were pretty stout down low and mid-range. Some "air mods" are going to completely change this car! -Chris
Hey guys I'm having problem with my 1994 v6. I'll start with turning it on. When cranking, it usually takes quite a while, and takes less time each time if it has recently been started. The check engine light was not on but now is. The MAIN ISSUE is that after a while the "red line" persay drops. It starts at actual redline, then progressively gets lower. It backfires and bogs off of 4500 rpm, then 3500, then 3000. Sometimes 2500 if you're hard enough on the throttle, or if you've been driving a while. I just changed the fuel pump, cleaned the throttle body, and changed the oil. There is a pretty bad antifreeze leak, from both hoses, but I'm fixing that in a few days. After a while it won't start without trying several times and/or giving it some gas to keep it up. I had a top of the head diagnostic that it is the fuel pump, but you can clearly hear it work and/or turn on when you crank the key to accessory. It has a brand new battery. If you have any expertise or knowledge, it is much welcomed. Thanks again.
I've been looking at the American Muscle website everyday and I absolutely enjoy it, I try to look for things for my recent purchase (2014 V6). Too bad everything is too expensive for me, maybe one day! Lol
Wow- Thanks Steve! I certainly didn't expect to hear that on a video where it sounds I'm fighting a losing battle with a nasty cold, but I'll gladly take it! Thanks again buddy! :) -Justin
I wish there was a video that showed how to install this idler pulley. The super grainy two-picture guide on the sheet it comes with isn't really helpful. :/
alittle low on power - my 2010 gt500 dyno numbers with 2.60 pulley with aux. idler kit . 93oct . tune intake and ngk plugs and offroad x-pipe - it was 557hp and 553tq at 57*F outside temp. and car running a 12 air to fuel
$400 for 9hp... Why do you think we buy mustangs? (May not include GT500 owners) But the answer is $ -> power. This "build" isn't worth the marketing money to spend on creating the video let alone the 9hp....
Hey Alex, thanks for commenting. I think a lot of people make the mistake of getting caught up in 'peak' gains all the time, and this is a perfect example. Although the cars peak number in here in stage 2 might not have been all that impressive for some folks, its hard to disregard the increase of over 30+hp and nearly 40lb-ft of torque throughout the curve. That low-mid range torque increase is going to be more beneficial to the everyday driver, stop light to stop light. Cool '73 by the way, you don't see those much anymore! -Justin
AmericanMuscle.com Hey thanks for the response! I follow you guys for a reason and buy your products on a regular basis (for my 86 gt). I just don't want to see people waste money or get confused on this difference between curve gains and peak. This is why everyone thinks their mustang makes like 700hp. I would say around 75% of the people that watch something like this don't know the difference between the two. Not saying you guys are doing a bad job of presenting information, just a little stating the obvious when I said it was only making 9 more hp. Also, yes I do agree that the hp and tq coming on quicker throughout the curve makes a major difference and are great results from these parts. Its just the nature of the beast though, everyone talks peak when they look for "gains", and my point is to try to get that across and maybe get someone to go hey maybe I should check into the difference.
Rather have dual 4 bbl any day. Instead of these builds. If your gonna do a 'build' make it as nasty as possible…all these builds are soft. Put me in charge of a build to see real power
Have you seen Stage 2 of our 2010-2012 Shelby GT500 build?
so wheres the Stage 3? you guys posted Stage 1 and 2 real fast but left Part 3 out
Check out Stage 2 of our 2010-2012 GT500 Bolt-On Build-Up! What are your thoughts on this build?
I cant wait to see what to see the stages. I know the built gt500 motor we had, was a monster. It was putting done a monster 1, 116 hp. Inside a 03 gt.
you guys should do a bolt on build-up on a terminator cobra.

I notice that also!

S197_3V cuz u “ need” more money to get more power...
Also Bama is trash tune..
Are you guys going to do a termi?
Ryan Ramsey Keep an Eye out for one! We definitely have something in the works! - Alex
The additional power seems pretty low for 3-4 pounds of boost. A set of long tubes would really wake that motor up
Bama are trash for tuning..
So we can buy all the bolt ons for this build on your page? Can you also gives us recommendations to find the best shops around our areas to help us install them?

Thanks anyways, still helped!
These numbers are way too low for a pulley swap on an '11'-12.. get a better tuner
Ford community always says bama is trash.. Best to go wit lund.. Palm beach.. Vmp for ya tune..
Yeah bama is trash on these gt500s
Does seem very low when you considered adding an extra 3-4 PSI AND a bigger cold air intake.
So what did you gap the spark plugs at?
Whatever happened with Project Coyote? You only did 3 stages while grabber boost got 4. I was really looking forward to seeing stage 4 of Project Coyote.
Hellion Twin Charge Kit!!! More Boost!!!
What's the safe timing number's on the Shelby's

change out the throttle body!!!! it got super choked off on the top end

i swear justin is like the best spokes person.

Good numbers 👍
Where's stage 3 ? :)
Spoiler Alert... www.americanmuscle.com/bolt-on-build-ups.html
I expected much better gains from stage 2 build.
Me too the 2007-2009 Shelby has bigger gains
Do for a cobra :D
But I dont have 93 octane
Slap on a VMP GEN 3R.
Long Tubes !!
I was expecting better numbers

These cars come out with 540 - 550 horsepower From the factory? What's going on?
at the engine. Measurements here @ AM are at the rear wheels. Big difference.
