Wouldn't the steam dilute the grape juice? I see that the lighter grape juice might be towards the tail end of the batch. Perhaps the last batch is just more diluted?
Nice, NEW. An off the wall question here. Do you believe in GHOST? Have you listen very very closely to your video, really at 7:20 / 7:21. At this point you stated that you are going to steam the rubber hose. You can clear (after listening a couple times, smiles) someone saying "No". Did you have a problem with the hose after? Can you tell if it is a male or female voice?
Oh wow, I hear it clearly! I agree, it sounds like a paranormal voice. I believe in ghosts (or angels, or spirits) and this is as obvious as it gets! Glad you pointed it out to me because I missed it due to a fan blowing in the background in my room.
Wow I was thinking in comparison to elderberries Steam Juicing my wild Concord grapes for a longer time and heard your supposed to let the grapes cool and they said you can get another quart of grape juice. Like an idiot I got out a smaller lid trying to push out the juice. I should’ve left it cool and will show you the short video where they said you can get up to a quart of extra juice. That is a lot Yeah I was concerned with aluminum as does any leaching from it can damage your brain. I’d ask around but maybe the Steam temperature causes no reaction whatsoever. I’m a type 1 juvenile diabetic and just mindful of every nook and cranny shelled out my way by what I ingest. So what I was blown away with was hawthorn berries and I made a syrup without any honey, sugar or any type of sweetener and it tasted amazing. I’m going to attempt to make syrup now without adding any sugar or sweetener to these wild Concord grapes. th-cam.com/video/MKTlymNG0HI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aS7hAT3epXEDyM_s
What do you think about the steamer/juicer that has the spout instead of the plastic tube? I feel that the spout would last longer? Thoughts now that you have been using this?
I've been using it for a couple years now and haven't had any problems with the tubing. I'm thinking with the spout it might be difficult to align a jar under it while it's steaming?
I love the valve spout on my stainless steel juicer the tube in see on other creator's channels looks like a bit of a nuisance. I use an induction burner set up on blocks (or you can use cookbooks) to raise it up so that your can easily slide quart jars under. But I'm looking for others who have theirs juice come out in different colors like I do and finally found yours that mentioned it. So far now ive deducted that the first draw of juice isnt on the heat as long as the second draw, so that the sugars in the steamed juice that remains in the reservoir for the second draw is actually carmelizing above boiling heat until there is enough collected to fill the next jar/s.
Gapeys Grub our grapes were very productive. We call them trash grapes because they really dont taste good in anything but juice. They are not concord and we planted them so long ago we just don’t remember. We steamed them this year and it was a-bit of a process but we enjoyed the juice extravaganza!!! We may be diluting the juice its a bit tarty! Thank you for the information!!
In the video you said you will be returning the aluminum one to bed bath and beyond. You used it.... You shouldn’t be returning something you used, and successfully. All aluminum oxidizes like that with boiling, and not a good reason to return it.
When I called Bed Bath and Beyond they said they had the stainless steel one and when I went to the store to get it they didn't have it so I got this other one and it did not meet my expectations so I returned it and they accepted it.
@@Polamish Thanks. I was pretty upset with them that they didn't have what they said they had. I even asked if they were sure they had it and they seemed positive that they did. Glad I was able to return it. I still love the stainless steel one I got. I've been using it every year for a variety of fruits.
Ha! I just made grape juice and did the exact same thing with the step ladder. 😁 I just hook the tube on the strainer handle and it doesn't leak. You also don't need to do a water bath. I sterilize my jars and put the lid on hot water. Then put the juice in the jars and seal them. Works great. My grapes a green also and my first jar is the lightest in color. The rest are a beautiful pink color.
hah nice. It was the only thing I could think of that was the right size to put the jars on. I haven't juiced anything yet this year but might do some apples this year.
Interesting. I'm not into juicing so this is totally new to me. Have a great day. Best wishes Bob.

yeah there would be some dilution, maybe more so towards the end of the juicing.
Perhaps the color is from oxidation

hah I think it is just audio that got caught in the transition of the two clips. It does sound like "no" though.

Rosie's Garden wow, you were listening very closely to the content in order to hear that :)
Why are you canning the grape juice? Thanks for the video, I'm going to make mead with this
Hi, can we do it with grapefruit
Not sure, I've never tried steam juicing citrus.
@@gapey thank you for your answer
Hi, you don't have the clip on the tube correctly- that's why it's leaking a little. :) Hope this helps
Oh really? Thanks. I'll take a look at that.

Oh that's a good tip to let the fruit cool to get more out. Didn't think of doing that. Thanks for sharing.
So good. Thanks!
You bet! :)

@@amandawilder7353 That's exactly what I thought. It's darker because it cooked longer!
Do You grow your own grapes? How are you combating the mummy grapes? We have been hit the last three or four years and lost most of the crop.
Fortunately I haven't had any problem with that. I haven't done anything to combat them. They don't seem to be as productive this year though.

Do the grapes need to be organic?
I don't think that matters.
Thanks. I'm juicing grapes today.
Nifty!
