I've owned both masticating and centrifugal juicers, but I didn't know a stream juicer was a thing until last year when I saw Becky from Acre Homestead use one
I really enjoyed this video. Now, I know for certain, I can make grape juice using my Omega masticating juicer. I know it's not going to be the prettiest, but, I agree with your daughter, it will be the healthiest. A little pulp never heard anybody.😊
Finally someone is showing this type of juicer = My biggest 2 question’s are 1= where did this thing originate from 2= why didn’t this thing become as popular as canners did Bottom line I love mine & it’s just as important as my pressure canner
I’m would like to see how much of what you get from the steam juicer is water, and compare to cold pressed masticating juicer - does anyone know the difference in volume?
No need to sterilize steam juicer tube, no need to serilize jar caps just wash them, you can wash jars with dishwasher and all juices preserve atleast a year. If you want to preserve them longer then you need to do all that stuff. We have preserved juices for many years like i told and everything is fine as long as caps stay closed.
I would like to see how much of what you get from the steam juicer is water, and compare to cold pressed masticating juicer. Would anyone know the difference in volume? Great video thank you for creating it
I feel the steam juicer is better because I have apple trees and I don’t spray anything on them, so bugs get to it. I try to cut out the bad areas, but I feel at least the heat from the steam juicer is sterilizing the bugs I missed. Lol. 🤷🏻♂️
So if the other juicer produced a better tasting juice... wouldn't that be a better way to go? Granted takes more time but the best end product is what you want. Wonder if you steam juiced it then ran the remnants thru the machine to pull in some pulp/ other goodness?
Sir thank you very much ,, For everyday making juices which one you suggest for me to buy , Beetroot, oranges , and celery these kind of juice I have to make everyday ,
I actually really wanted to get one of those. The reason I didn't buy one is because all in my price range ($300+) had horrible reviews about the quality and craftsmanship. They almost always broke or didn't squeeze the fruit. Where did you get yours? Have you had any issues with it?
Have a question for you. Do you know anything about the manual pressure juicers and how they compare to what your using? The ones I've seen were barrels that you fill up with fruit, then place a lid on, and screw them down to press the juice out of the fruit. I was looking to grow a bunch of dwarf fruit tree's (banana, orange, apple, cherry, lemon, and lime.) while waiting for the larger tree's to start bearing fruit. And I want to juice the fruits, then see if it's possible to dehydrate the left over fruit flesh.
I actually really wanted to get one of those. I may still. The reason I didn't buy one is because all in my price range ($300+) had horrible reviews about the quality and craftsmanship. They almost always broke or didn't squeeze the fruit. I was disappointed in the selection and didn't have $2000 for a professional one.
@@CountryLivingExperience Oof yeah that's a good reason not to get one. I was gonna try to make a replica of one I'd seen on another homesteading channel (self sufficient me (IIRC)) it's a base plate, long bolt through the bottom, and a top plate. Then the sides were 1x2's or 1x3's that were about 1/8th an inch apart, then a handle that mounts to the bolt on top that you can tighten down. But I wasn't sure how it would compared to the juicers that you had reviewed. (trying to get the most juice and the least damaged fruit flesh possible.).
Tell me I'm not the only one who went, "oh, bless her" when she said it's healthier too.
Great and informative video! Thanks for including a few extra details such as sterilizing the tube with the first bit of hot juice. Awesome!
You’re welcome

Your daughter is adorable and very informative regarding the tastes of the juicing from the steam juicer vs the masticating juicing results.
You have a great taste testing system ! Thanks for your work today.
Thank you so much!

Love the circular egg rack! Where did you find that?
Happy New Years to you and the family! Hope you have a blessed 2023!
Thank you. This is the one we have....amzn.to/3WyU0PQ

I like mine too. Not sure why they didn't catch on with more people.

I want the sweeter juice. Thanks to your daughter I'm not going to steam ...she said the juice is sweeter from the masticating juicer !
Cool. The masticating certainly was sweeter.

No need to water bath them after juice is inside jar.
Thank you for your thoughts.
@@CountryLivingExperience Also it's better to store them at cold cellar not at warm room. If there is some mold on juice then don't drink it.
I cracked open a 50 year old jar of my grandma's grape juice awhile back and gave it to a friend, she said it was the freshest juice she ever had.

Steam would work well for that situation.
Great video. Thanks for the info
Glad it was helpful!
I love seeing those water glass eggs on your counter!
And garlic fermented honey??
Yes. We have a video on that one.

Question for you Sir, since you live in Texas when do you plant and harvest your sweet potatoes? Thanks in advance. JM in Texas
Hello. We planted around late May and will harvest usually in November.
Sir thank you very much ,,

What do you think about the press. I like to use the press myself. Then we take the pressed fruits and make jams.
I actually really wanted to get one of those. The reason I didn't buy one is because all in my price range ($300+) had horrible reviews about the quality and craftsmanship. They almost always broke or didn't squeeze the fruit.
Where did you get yours? Have you had any issues with it?
So, why the difference in flavor?
I think we tasted the juice from the last part of the process when there was more water in it so it became diluted.

Likely because the steam extracts out the grape skins
Does the masticating juicer break/grind up the seeds? I am worried about using mine for these muscadine grape and creating cyanide into the juice.
Grape seeds do not contain cyanide. Apple seeds do. Even if you juiced them your would have to drink an entire swimming pool to have any ill effects.
@@CountryLivingExperience great ty
When you heat up and boil, anything you kill the vitamins?
Only certain volatile vitamins and only past a certain temperature/time.

Sorry, links can't be shared here. I will check out Huw's video. I have followed him for years. Thank you!
I wish if I work with you🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks
Fiancé, "Why are you learning how to extract Jews?"... Great video if not a little heretical. ;)
