I remember when Jamey came out onto the scene with "In Color," around 2008. I was a junior in high school. I remember it being one of my favorite songs to listen to (Along with Metallica's "The Day that Never Comes" that just came out) when some family, a classmate, and I traveled 16 hours to and from Colorado on an elk hunting trip that year. I bought the album that had "In Color" and this song on it. Those two and "Between Jennings and Jones" are the only 3 that I regularly listened to on that album. But I also got his "The Guitar Song" album that released in 2010. It was like 2 albums in 1. One being the "White Album" with 12 songs, and the other being the "Black Album" with 13 songs. The "white" and "black" symbolically reflecting the mood of the songs on each album. "Can't Cash My Checks" is on the Black Album.. I listened to those two albums A LOT. Nearly all of the songs I'd listen to repeatedly.
You don't get it on a live performance, but on record the lines from 'Dreaming My Dreams With You' fade out the song which gives this song so much more meaning. Also, try I Remember You.
Jamey used to be well groomed back when "In Color" came out, and even before. Used to wear a cowboy hat.. Seemed as if he was kinda "commercialized" back then.. But he has since grown his beard and hair out, and seemed to not try to be as mainstream. Which I think made him a better and unique artist. But I could be wrong in that perception. Idk.
I don't recognize this man, or the music maybe another song and remove some of the hair his voice kind of sounds familiar but I haven't really listened to country much in years God bless
