Pretty pleased with the harvest. Not the biggest haul I've ever had but the quality was decent enough.

I've just harvested a 30ltr bucket and got 10lb of Charlotte potatoes out. I've used a fertilizer called spuds galore. I will certainly be using it again.

It always amazes how potatoes can hide in the soil, they're such a contrast in colour yet appear out of nowhere!

We've been swamped with rain here in Texas. A lot of mine rotted. For my sweet potatoes, I have some in ground and some in containers. Here's hoping we get enough of a harvest for the year.
It's time for me to dig the peanuts but it's supposed to rain through next week!
I've never grown them before and I really wanted them to do well.
They are varieties I had to order because they aren't available around here.

The weather has been a bit on the crazy side so far this year. I'm never quite sure what its going to do next or what sort of harvests are going to come.
Hope you manage to get a good crop of peanuts. I've heard of folk trying to grow them over here in the UK but don't think they've been massively successful.

Our potatoes were about the same as yours, although I've not weighed them yet.

I’m doing both carrots and spuds the slugs has demolished my other carrots
Quite a few of the touchon carrots I've got in have been munched by the slugs when they were smaller.
Think I might go for a bucket of both carrots and spuds.👍🌱👍

For the Charlottes I usually do three seed potatoes per bucket 👍🌱👍
I agree with the taste aspect but I’m getting a little despondent with growing them 🤔 it’s my 4th year with buckets & the yield is always so poor. This year they’re split too. I’m obviously doing something wrong, but the £ of the buckets, seed & compost just makes me think is it worth it….
Have you tried them in the ground before Vanessa?
I've always found the buckets to be pretty reliable but could imagine its a bit frustrating if they're not quite going right for you 👍🌱👍
@@marksallotmentplot I did my main crop in the ground last year just to see. Again poor but just didn’t find them as clean. We have heavy clay soil. Only done 1st & 2nd this year.
My first earlies did better than my 2nds. Neither ones flowered though & foliage died back on both at the same time. Very tasty though! (International kidney & Charlottes) Hope the leg is better soon
Funny you say that about the flowering as neither my first or second earlies flowered this year either.
