I'm not sure how many of y'all were able to see the comment I pinned last night on yesterday's vlog, so I wanted to relay it again: You are all so amazing! We appreciate how much support you give us. You endure with us during the hard times and rejoice with us in the good times. We hoped that the treatment would work together, and now we celebrate the fantastic results... Together! I honestly cannot put into words our appreciate, just know my family and I truly thank y'all for joining us on our adventures.

Ahhhh.....I got that first morning where I slept in, woke up naturally and just got out of bed. When I changed Drs. And got on a new medicine and one medicine that I could take at my discretion....I cried. It was the first morning I could make breakfast for my kids and husband on time and not at 10 because it took hours to get my pain under enough control to be a mom. You brought back a good memory and feeling of that morning and so happy and elated that you got that as well

Hey Jaq, I'm having an awful day healthwise. I woke up extremely groggy with a migraine and weakness and I had to miss college for it, but I'm reminding myself that you have to listen to your body and that your health comes before school (and anything else). You have really helped me emotionally in dealing with pain and illness and I'm so grateful for your vlogs and your channel. Today and yesterday's vlog especially made me happy to see you so happy and pain-free. I teared up as you were walking into Menchie's (not sure how to spell) by yourself without a walker. It made me so happy to see the independence you've gained and how happy you are to be able to have such minimal pain. ❤

Carrots...yeah, I'm afraid they do taint broccoli a bit.

Judd wins on this. Carrots do have a distinct taste and if you don't like it you can taste it more. Its like a smell too, if you dont like it you will pick up that smell before anyone else. Like BO..lol

Also, my Belgian Shepherd mix, Raven, used to come yo to me, give me his "I'm Mama's GOOD boy" face, then burp right in my face.
I wish I had known about slow feeders back then...Belgians WOLF their food!!!
I hope this doesn't sound creepy, but I love watching you feed Harlow. It isn't responsible for me right now to have a dog (we have 6 aging rescue cats and are recovering from bad financial difficulties and their needs must come before my wants) so I really enjoy your day to day with Harlow; same with Janeice (I must learn to spell her name. Dyslexia, something you and me are NOT buds) and Orion and Yori.
I have tons of great stuff to say about NO PAIN and how incredible it is to function on Level 1 rather than 5 or 6, plus the OMG SLEEP!!!
But I was distracted by the cuteness of Harlow.
Just for you though...❤❤❤ pink love from Michigan!!!

After my second jaw surgery, I had 13 screws removed from my mandable and I slept for a solid nine hours and woke up happy, with a very minor headache (compared to a debilitating migraine) and able to talk (albeit only a few words) for the first time in three weeks!

YASS to the pain scale! I sound over dramatic at times, but when you're close to blacking out from pain, it's really not a "10". It's more like a 20. Anyway, glad you're feeling some pain relief and can't wait to see how the ketamine works. My mom has infusions and it's really helped her... p.s. Is CBD oil legal down there?

When you walk with the pull strap on Harlow your shoulder drops a bit. Ideally you wouldn't want this. You might find a slightly longer pull strap (say 10cm or so or longer if you preferred) much more comfortable for your joints. So great you can finally use her help again! I run a business where a lot of what we make is pull straps (not so useful to you as I'm in Australia) but measuring for a strap can be hard and you don't want too short as it changes your whole alignment how you walk. In your case it's not a major shoulder drop but if you were able, trying a longer strap would be beneficial. It's so exciting to see you and Harlow together without other needed mobility aids :D :D :D
My service dog is a GSD and she likes to come up and burp in my face haha it's so gross but funny. She also lays in bed with her bum next to my ear and farted in my ear a few times which was terrifying.

I did the injections for lower lumbar pain twice since 2006 when I injured myself and became disabled.
The first really helped *ALLOT*, but...
It only lasted about 3 weeks. The second time was a *NIGHTMARE!!!* The injection hurt so bad I almost ripped the exam table pad in half!
I was scared to death after, because I almost couldn't walk after, and it took 5 hours before I could walk normally.
This time, it did nothing for the pain. The shot was given to me in 2007, and to this day I'm partially numb in my left big toe over it.
To me, the risk outweighs the benefits, so no more Ketamine shots!...

Oh my goodness! My doc sedates me so I do not move at all, and uses x-ray guidance to find the right spot. I am sedated with Ketamine and injected with Toradol. I am SO sorry it went to badly! I can understand why you no longer do it.

that's one of the reasons why I don't want any injections in my lower spine.. everyone I know has had major problems...

    • @KentuckyRanger
      @KentuckyRanger 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Oh I know all about the X-Ray video assistance, I sat there and watched, LOL! The ONLY sedation I was given was a Valium.
I can see why they would sedate while doing the cervical spine because way too much could go wrong in a big hurry.
I didn't mean to scare you, just share my experience.
Mine was injected at the L-5/S-1. It could be that there isn't a need for sedation, I don't know.
But what happened was, she was in a hurry that day, I was her last patient, she let the needle slip, and it nicked the sciatic nerve, and caused the partial numbness in my left big toe.
      And no, I didn't sue anyone...😉

After the second one I got to researching. I found that prolonged use of these injections actually case disk degeneration, as well as creating scar tissue.
The first was awesome! The second almost killed me...
I just don't like the idea of treatments like this.
Jaque, I *KNOW* what you're going through with the chronic pain.
Before my first major back surgery I had already decided that if it didn't take the pain away, I was going to eat a bullet, seriously...
The pain was so intense, I couldn't sleep, and would sit in my chair, needing to go to the bathroom so bad, but knew what pain just getting up, walking to the bathroom, and sitting down would cause.
Then, once on the toilet, I didn't want to get up, because of the intense pain the trip back to my chair was going to be.
On a good day, I might get 2 hours of sleep, maybe 3...
When I went in and had the first injection it was a miracle!!!
      The pain was *GONE!!!*
I was getting ready to go back to work for Christ sake!
Then, 3 weeks later, 2 days before I was to start back to work, I was woke up from a sound sleep by the old pain. Only this time it was *WORSE!!!*
I called an ambulance and went to the hospital.
They gave me some pain meds and I scheduled another injection the next day.
      This time *EVERYTHING* went wrong...
That's when I arranged for the first back surgery, a Discectomy.
Since then, while not anywhere near as bad, I've had to struggle with the pain on a daily basis.
My advice to anyone is to not get them on a regular basis.
It's a quick fix, to a much more major problem...

No. Broccoli and carrots steamed together totally tastes different! And while I don’t mind it, it does taste different

That is great that the treatment helps you i can tell when you have alot of pain because when you talk you do not move your lower jaw much and now you seem to have full movement that is good

With the injections in the back and neck, you should expect to have some discomfort and stiffness and pain for the first 5-6 days afterwards as the meds settle into the joints and then you will feel the full effects between 1-2 weeks out from the injections. I live with chronic pain every day in my life as well and its always amazing to have something done to lessen the pain and i've actually had times that I've cried in response to the relief after having had a long spell of having to function through almost unbearable pain. being a single mom with 2 kids I have to fight through it no matter what and it makes me feel like a normal human to be able to move without feeling like i'm being ripped apart every day

      @ChronicallyJaquie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

It is nice to be able to relate! I actually do not have the stiffness anymore, I used ice packs and that helped. I am really grateful for the relief and hope it lasts a while, but we will have to wait and see.

Question about your backpack! So I have hEDS too and I remember seeing in your intro video that your ribs are one of your problem areas, which mine are too. In fact that’s actually what let me to a diagnosis. Anyway, does the backpack bother you in any way in terms of ribs subluxing? I can’t wear anything on my back. :/
I was just curious how you do it haha

Do you have a video on how you trained Harlow? I'm thinking about getting a dog and training it to be a service dog .. I feel a service dog could do a lot for me, as I can't take meds for all of my chronic issues
