SVZ retrofitted in recently purchased1960's all electric cape in crawl space attic. Works great and low electric bill. Challenge was finding a competent HVAC contractor who understood low static ducted systems since most simply wanted to install wall/floor mount indoor units or a basement full of flex duct.
@@kevingauthier3776 Hi located in CT. My unit is actually a Trane/Mitsubishi which is exactly the same with a Trane model#. Used the Mitsubishi web site for so called "gold" or whatever contractors. I do understand in detail these systems and basically told the 8+ contractors what I wanted and air handler/duct locations. Nope, we put them on a wall and,,, "what's a low static system?"
@@kevingauthier3776 I understand your frustration. I actually wanted a different manufacturer due to better SEER ratings, but no contractors in my area. I did the numbers on a more efficient hyper heat model, but the SEER efficiency did not meet the CT rebate requirements. I went with the SVZ understanding there would be some days $$ electric backup would be needed but the payback wasn't there on the hyper cost increase and no rebate. Second year heating system with it and my electric costs in CT are below what I expected..
why are these units not sold in Europe?

What is the lowest temperature in which the heat pump can still generate heat without a backup source like heat strips?
