Hi Mitch, I’ve just found your channel - great videos! Thanks for your efforts. Random question from this one… what’s the reason for using 12 inch duct to living area outlets and 10 inch for bedrooms? Does distance from the indoor unit influence this decision? Thanks, keep up the great work 😃
@@jasongibson4244 thanks mate, appreciate it. Distance from indoor unit definitely influences my decisions however the main reason is I want more volume of air going into living spaces and more L/s of air can be pushed through 12” duct compared to 10” duct. Cheers
I have daikin slimline aircon in 3 rooms bedroom spare bedroom And living room in melb Hardly pushes !! I’d love some help as I’ll be dying in summer. Approx how much would it cost? I’m in an apartment
@@kenbro2801 me and my old apprentice used to do a ducted in 1.5 days but to a slightly lesser quality. Nowadays it’s more like 3 because my offsider is still learning the trade and our goal is to do everything at a high quality. Plus filming slows things down. What I will say though, I do not care how long it takes and if people can do it quicker, by all means go for it. Im only concerned about the quality of the install. Cheers mate
What is the max ESP (External Static Pressure) for that indoor unit? What is your R value for the insulated flex duct? You drive a long distance for work, even for a good customers client. My max is 30 minutes from home. Professional job guys.
I think you could get one in judging from the the evaporator size after the indoor unit was dismantled. You'd only need to tray the area directly under the evap section with say, 50 mm overlap. You'd feed it in diagonally through the manhole. Of course one would need to measure the diagonal first to determine max width of the tray though.
Had an old LG ducted system replaced this week. They took apart some roof sheets and a mini hoist to get the old unit out and the new one in.
That was a nice video Mitch, i'm looking forward to viewing episode 2.. Take care, and a safe drive to you both back to the tranquilty of Bundy 😉 👍
I’ll definitely make an episode 2. Stay tuned. Beautiful part of the world.
Good old Australian building - don’t worry about the piss poor insulation, just throw bulk AC at the problem 😂
Nice video Mitch. Cool to see your processes / thinking when approaching a larger residential ducted. Always learning 👍
That BMW looked nice. This is a neat install by the way.
Nice video, thanks for the info. I'm not overly keen on the condensate going into the gutter though and into the water tank.
Not keen on fresh, clean water going into water tank... lol what?
I'm guessing the water tank is potable water. It's probably more for the garden, so no issue there mate.
Nice video mate, do you usually design duct plan layouts yourself? Or does some body else do that for you?
Thanks man, I do them myself .
Cheers

Nice work, from Phoenix Arizona USA
Thanks mate, I’ve been to Phoenix Arizona. Beautiful part of the world!
keep safe my friend always watching your videos
Thanks mate, same to you!
Neat job mate, on average how many days for a 10 outlet system.
Very nice👍. I really like those wall brackets ( much nicer than our USA bracket China made). Beautiful home and area. Stay well. Thanks for the video.
@@scottk0623 thanks mate, yeah those brackets are made up by a local Australian place close to where I live. Very strong. Thanks again for watching 🙏🏻

Do you also install bathroom fans?

Not having a dig but are you not doing an emergency drain pan due to not being able to get it in the roof?

Good jobs
No p-trap?
No need the drain is positively charged (with air) from the indoor fan
Most mini splits don’t require traps either.
Nah mate, the drain is in front of the fan motor so you don’t need to. Cheers
@@braidz106 that’s it mate
