    Riboku's own idealistic outlook which avoids him taking power and his solution to peace in Kingdom, will be his ultimate downfall !

    My man is basically the Anti-Griffith. If he had the slightest fraction of the Hawk's ambition within him, he would be a monumental mover and shaker in the socio-political sphere as well as upon the battlefield.
    Please take all the time that you need. IRL obligations always come first, and I'll always come running for Kingdom content.

    Yo, thank you for deciding to make Kingdom content, It is such a great and rich story yet doesn't have a whole lot of content that covers it. You're doing amazing work and delving deep into the characters and story that you are covering.
    Have a great day and hope all is well with family, cant wait for the next vid!

    Riboku is truly one of the best antagonists in Kingdom. Even though when I'm reading chapters from Zhao perspective they (almost) every time talk about how great Riboku is. Overall he's in my top 10 well written characters in Kingdom. Thank you for another amazing Kingdom video.

      I love this guy too. People hate Karin for some reason. But before the Ousen battle we saw Riboku just looking tired and broken. Knowing full well he is fighting for a unjust ruler and loosing hope to ever achieve a short time of peace. We saw him just wanting to go home and enjoy is peaceful lifetime he always wanted. But he can't because he is to loyal to his goal to protect his country.
      Karin giving him silent support with the cuddling was such a tragic scene if we consider that Riboku's loyalty will soon lead to his death if it not strays away from history.

      @@mrcaos999Also I'm a Ukrainian so for me Riboku is more sympathetic character than Ousen even though I know how fearsome Ousen in battle. Being invaded is the worst feeling ever, you most of the time fear for your family and loved one's safety. Plus I'm 19 and when I'll reach age 25 I'll be mobilised to army. I don't want to die in battle but also don't want to lose my country.

    Riboku is too much of a coward. He doesn't have the courage to stop the corruption in his own country. He doesn't have the courage that Sei has to unite the middle kingdom. Riboku is the type of friend who if you were kidnapped with, he'd beg his life and try not to fight, and if you try to fight, he'll be mad at you and try to protect your kidnappers. He fights to protect a hedonistic bastard. He is an enabler of tyranny, a protector of tyrants. The type of guy to serve the Nazis even though he's against their ideas, just because he's german. A coward.

    Without mentioning historical spoilers I think what happened to him in history will be different than what happens in Kingdom. He’s an interesting character with a lot one could say about. If I recall the historical records don’t mention him until later but Hara brought him in early. As a result he has losses in the series that we don’t actually know if he participated in them so that doesn’t help him

    Egoistic is the wrong word totally. Please not fall for the same "Qin awesome all others awful trap" many people on redit do that not unterstand that we are not following the historian heroes.
    Riboku big flaw is that he is too morally good and not ready to do what is nessesary to make zhao strong. In the past he could have killed Shin but doesn't because he not wanted to kill a child. He restrains from massacre Qin armies just lately accepted it hoping this would finally put in end to their ambition. As Kanki threated some civilians he did fall for his trap even though it was the most ilogical decision. Riboku never betrays his kings despite knowing they are unjust ruler because he doesn't want to betray someone.
    One of my most favorit Riboku scenes is him being tired and fully broken. With Karin cuddling with him to give him support.
    Riboku knows better as everyone else that he serves the wrong king. But he is afraid. He can't see a future without war and only hopes to achieve short phases of peace. He is clever enough to see that El Sei's route leads to tyrany. That why he is trying to stop him. But his corupt superiors make him lose more and more fate in humanity.

      Don't overlook the fact that Riboku would have been responsible for hundred of thounsands death/rapes/pilages (including children) if the coalition succeded. Him not wanting kill Shin does not make him morally good but rather shows that he respects shin.
      Also can you really call someone morally good, who has the power to stop the corruption and abuse (which got him imprisoned and nearly killed) in his country but chooses to look the other way for no good reason.

    Great video. I agree Riboku isn't a villain. I'd say Roboku is a hero, but also the main antagonist of the story so far.

    I honestly didn’t have that much of a problem with Riboku until his speech at Seika. His hypocrisy was astounding and really made me agree with Kanki’s thoughts on him

      Elobarate plzzz
      Riboku is honest man
      In reality , sei vision is a faliure
      After so many lives taken, qin dod unify china, but for hiw long???
      Was almost immediately taken over

    • @vasily3127
      @vasily3127 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@owaissheraz If you look at it from another perspective, Sei's ambition kinda achieved. After The Qin Dynasty fell and the Han emerged under a new emperor called Liu Bang, china was unified and at peace for 400 years.
      If not for Sei's action, Liu Bang would not have a reason to justify his action on unifying China. So in a sense, Sei's ambition was fulfilled, even though the peace wasn't under his kingdom. But at least a unified peaceful China is achieved.

    • @mandorkuil7236
      @mandorkuil7236 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @owaissheraz whilst I do agree with the statement that Qin failed in keeping China unified, they did something no other states has ever done, or even though possible in that time period: They set the standard and implant the idea that an unified China is possible. Riboku by all means is a good man, but good man is not enough in this time period. As Sei himself stated, Riboku's idea of a nation unified by alliance albeit noble, won't last because other states would pursue their own agendas after the death of this era ruler. If he were to unify them however, then they would unify not only the people, but the law, the currency, the measurements and every little thing in between. Thus even if the nation were to shatter like it did historically, they already set the foundation for the next generations to unify China. Ei Sei himself doesn't care if he were to be labeled as tyrant or villain, since he believed if it can be done once, then he already set the future generations of the idea of unification, which ironically did unify just a few decades later under Liu Bang of Han, unlike the previous era which took a grand total five hundreds years of war. Liu Bang and Xiang Yu literally had it way easier compared to the bullshit Qin has to deal in the previous era, such as cultures, language, laws, etc. It's kinda ironic the things Liu Bang detest in his early days as a rebel, is the thing that makes shit easier during his ascension as the Son of Heaven. His only real enemy was Xiang Yu and the Xiongnu, unlike the previous era where you need to keep your eyes everywhere and everyone trying to sabotage your war effort.

    The reason that Riboku is such a great rival, is that he's pretty much the opposite of Shin. Shin was a lowly peasant boy who managed to become a powerful and immensely respected general through hard work and unmatched ambition. Meanwhile, Riboku is an incredibly powerful and respected great general who has no self-worth or ambition, and it's slowly causing his downfall.
