I have the z fold 4 Samsung gave me $1,000 for trade-in I only end up giving $750 for fold 5 512gb. Also pre-ordered watch 6 classic 47mm. Also pre-ordered Sony WX M5 earbuds. And i get all three on ( Sony earbuds were also pre-order just happens to get released on the same day) 8/8/23
In a bit of a bad situation here in Australia, got in too late for the Spigen case with the spen slot and they sold out. So I just grabbed the clear case for now so I can order that later on, definitely want a decent case for the long-term. Phone should arrive in a couple days, very excited! Was the clear case easy to take off? Does the adhesive make it difficult?
Same situation in the UK - the stock of Spigen cases is always terrible for some reason so I know how you feel! Yeah they're all nice and easy to take off - even with the adhesive they pop back off OK. Which colour Fold did you go for? 😁
@AndroidAddicts Hopefully the restock isn't too far away for both of us! I went with the plain phantom black, a classic. I sort of like the icey blue one but the Samsung exclusive colours for the Fold 5 didn't catch my eye this year - however I did really like the burgundy for the 4 they did last year, I'd have loved that for the 5 I ordered if they offered it. It's due for delivery today! Cannot wait 🤩
That's insane! I can't believe it's taking so long. It took about 3 or 4 months after the S23 Ultra for the 2 additional Samsung ones to become available - not really the best way to sell a case that's for sure!
I bought that strap case for my zfold5 before i even received my phone i put it on basically soon as i took it out the box. Got my eyes on the spen case, is the spen actually worth it? Will i bother using it.
I guess that really depends on you - do you like writing notes/drawing? If not you probably won't use it much at all. Or maybe you'd find you'd be more into drawing if you did have one - it's a tough one.
I was hoping that the Eco-Leather would be "flush" when laying down on the table/desk for note taking during meetings, but it appears that there is just enough "wobble" for it to be annoying. Can you comment on this, please? Thank you!
Yeah it's frustrating but there is still some wobble. I guess you could hold it down while writing (how I would with a piece of paper) but it seems like such a simple thing to get right - even if it meant putting some little 'feet' in the corner of the case to make it stable - I sure wouldn't mind.
How to change SIM card? It's on the front part of the Fold where all of those cases have adhesive pads - clearly a faulty design. Or do they assume no one ever changes SIM cards?
Yes that is the assumption I'm afraid! I took my cases off several times and they did still stick but yeah - if you do it frequently it will definitely lose the stickiness...
I have the Clear Gadget Case from Samsung and had to change SIM - it wouldn't budge and I didn't want to apply too much force so took it to Samsung service centre - 1st centre said they wouldn't even try - too much risk for them if they break the case or damage the phone, the 2nd centre luckily did it for me, using hot air gun, but I honestly think it's a major flaw in product design @@AndroidAddicts
For now I only use a cover for the camera. But at the front of the 6.2 inch screen I took off the cover, typing was disturbing, the edges on the side are too high. Even if I want to touch the finger scan, the front blocks my finger. You should be able to find a cover that is open at the back and front and has lower edges on the sides. I also use screenprotector on my 6.2 screen. But the problem is if the phone drops the ground..........
Yeah I know what you mean - they do seem almost too tall for the front of the phone. I will be on the look-out for a case which isn't too obtrusive on the front!
@@AndroidAddicts Yup. Speaking from experience (the Fold4 cases were of the same material/finish); I recommend the black, UNLESS people are going to be careful with the lighter colors.
Can i go without the cover but only the screen protector on front screen? I dont want to hide the beauty of the phone with any cover. Also such covers will make the phone more heavier than the phone already is. Just my opinion.
You certainly can - that's the good thing about the cases being in 2 parts. You could just put a screen protector on the front and have the back part of the case on 👍
They had a credit card holder for the S23 version. Perhaps a battery pack you could clip on for some wireless charging. Maybe a mount for your car or bike could be handy.

It's a really nice idea but sadly, no - the 're-design' of the camera module means they are different sizes - so the back part of a Fold 5 case won't fit on a Fold 4 as the camera module on the 4 is larger due to the LED flash...
@@AndroidAddicts yes, I understand that it is also 0,3mm slimmer. But last year case has detachable s-pen holder, which I assume might be compatibleble with space for interchangeable stand/strap. If yes, you can slide s-pen holder in place instead of stand or strap.
Ahh sorry I must have misunderstood. If you measure your detachable s-pen holder you might be able to tell. My stand that slots in is ~148mm x 22mm. I'm pretty sure they'll have made them incompatible but it'd be pretty cool if it did fit in! Let me know how big it is 👍
I have heard the pen becomes loose and fall off. Few people have lost their pen. Did you face any such issue with the spen case? And how does the clear gadget case feel when the phone is in the jeans pocket?
I can't imagine the pen getting loose with normal wear and tear of the case - it's quite stiff to push the button down to eject it. Clear gadget feels fine in the pocket but obviously it'll depend on whether you have a gadget attached as to how much it sticks out so I'd have the gadget facing 'outwards' of your pocket
@@AndroidAddicts actually many users are experiencing this issue with s pen. Most of them was defective on arrival and some became defective after few days of usage.
@@AndroidAddicts do they look ok if you mix and match? Or do the lines and contours look funny? It’s because the fronts have the adhesive so I don’t want to keep swapping them but I could get everything in black
I've swapped mine a few times on and off and they look fine - I don't support the adhesive will likely last that long anyway. Whether it looks finny with different coloured cases is down to your personal preference - but with the blue of the s-pen cover and the grey front of the strap cover - I think it looks OK.
Why does the icy blue leather case look like 2 different colors of blue on the closeup?. The part that goes around the screen looks darker than the back.
can you please make a video on how to actually remove the cases? I got the strap case on mine and I literally can not get it off anymore, either the front or the back side. please help, this is ridicilous
It's very simple to get them off. I do it with the phone open and just use my two thumbs to gentle push the case off from the top - didn't have any issues with any of them
Just do one side at a time, pop it on your lap, support the back of the phone with your fingers and then just use both thumbs to 'peel'/push the case back off

The Gadgets you mentioned ARE NOT available in the US, Yet! Trust me ive been looking since I bought the Gadget case for my S23 Ultra!

Annoying that the case with the SPen, does not allow the open Fold5 to be laid flat for Note taking.

That light color on the standing case will definitely be discolored by grime and fabric dyes (blue jeans).

I highly doubt it - they don't tend to make new cases after their initial batch - at least I've never seen them do it

Yes it is. Not sure how many times you can do it though but I've taken all of them off at least 4 or 5 times without a problem

What charger is that and is it for the fold?
It's just an old wireless charger I've got. Only 5W so nothing special - it is reliable though 😁

The pen on the blue case just looks odd. It should be blue just like the case.

Unless I never took my phone outside I'd always have a cover/case on my phone. But yes they do add bulk - particularly with the cover display...
It feels nicer without as all phones do but it's a very expensive phone to risk without one!
