It's kind of usability though too. To be honest, I won't buy a phone without a headphone jack ever again. It's a feature that is a must have for me. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until i had to live with it gone. Using a Type C dongle is fine...I guess. It's just that extra thing I have to carry around literally always in case I end up wanting to use my headphones. Especially when my travel is by bus, and most of the time I'm traveling I'm solo.
I would love to see a dual shooter with one gigantic sensor ultra high res super wide angle that gets cropped to 12mp center for "normal" shots, and one long range that is like 3x zoom at 12mp that will allow 5x zoom at 4k with no oversampling.

But I NEVER use the front camera, I would def buy a phone without a front camera any day if it came out at the ~600 euro price range, but the pop up thing that hides it also works, since I don't have an ugly black cut out or a notch on my screen, and get to use it once in a year if I really need to, so durability also ain't a factor, also there's the security factor- you can't be watched through the camera if it's a pop-up, though I personally don't care about that, some people may. And it doesn't affect the phone's waterproof-ness, since The OnePlus 7 Pro was submerged for a few hours without any problems, even if OnePlus don't pay for the resistance rating... And I'm not planning to go ocean diving with my phone, so that's good enough for me, if it can survive a little rain for an hour or sweat that's plenty... So yeah, aside from more effort needed to implement it(and thus higher cost), I don't see a negative side to it....
@@mataskart9894 I barely use front camera too. It worth mentioning that average hole punch is about half the area of average teardrop notch, so its the best thing after pop up. I used the phones i had as a reference as mi 9t is significantly heavier and thicker device with less screen area and smaller battery compared to a71. Just if you are interested in glass vs plastic: Plastic on back of a71 is much more scratch resistant than gorilla glass 5 on the back of mi 9t.

Kemal Demir sad but true. I had an iPhone 8 years ago, before i bought my first Note. But I still own an iPad & iPod because of the really awesome sound quality, battery life and easy OS. Switching back to the iPhone wouldn’t be that hard, to be honest.

I felt the same way honestly when it was gone, but having the actual phone, I don't really miss it as much as I did before, and I use my headphones almost 3-5 hours every day. Mornings, nights, in the middle of the day, etc.
Removable battery. IR blaster. FM Transmitter. Headphone Jack. SD card slot (They removed it from the smaller Note 10. You know they'll be removing it from the S11 series.) All reasons I chose Samsung over Apple. I don't care about the software half as much as the hardware. And now they're all doing pretty much the exact same thing, with minor differences.

Though removable battery? Idk. They stopped doing that a pretty long time ago. To become more streamlined and function much better, not having a removable battery is actually an improvement. Headphone jack? As much as I miss it, it hasn't bothered me much. The usb C headphones work pretty well, and i rarely ever get to the point of my phone dying, so I rarely ever have to charge and listen to music at the same time.
I heard from a friend who bought Note 10+ that battery life suck, maybe a one day battery life if not worse. S10+ easily lasts for 2 day of normal use. Its not about the size, but the demanding components it runs.
Because they have to fit a PEN inside it I'm guessing that the Samsung Galaxy s11 will have the headphone jack. I'm not saying that I like not having the jack, it's actually what puts me off of the phone, but still.

Actually I am really like samsung and what they doing but I felt disappointed as well when they released the Note 10s, because it's their "10th" Note phone. But maybe, maybe they will pack the Note 11 with great features such as a high refresh rate screen with under the screen camera... I am hope that they will do something big for their 10th anniversary Note
or combine it with the type c port by leaving a little wider entrance in the middle of the port. there's just enough room there to expand it on most phones.
I had the S series up to the 9 and now have the Note 10+ and I love it. I miss the headphone jack (though I like how thin the phone is), the hole punch takes some getting used to, and the fingerprint scanner sucks, but everything else is amazing to me. The screen is gorgeous and it's my favorite device to watch videos on (it doesn't have that weird orange tint the S series always has). The UI is silky smooth, multitasking/picture in picture is a breeze, the battery is a powerhouse, the camera is beautiful, and the S pen is fun to use (even if pretty useless)
Also let’s not forget about the removal of the pulse oximeter sensor. I know that to a lot of people it’s not a big deal, but I use the one on my Note 9 all the time to measure my blood oxygen level after waking up (I have sleep apnea). Regardless of functionality, it makes no sense to me that the S10 and S10 Plus have the headphone jack, expandable storage on both models AND the pulse oximeter, but the NOTE doesn’t.

I also have a snapdragon LG Stylo and it runs super smooth and no overheating, almost never gets hot I loved it.

I also have the visible ZTE r2 with the snapdragon 425 and that phone too is super smooth, doesn't get hot as fuck after booting up with minimal lag. Idk maybe I just have a bad s9. It's real of course Verizon doesn't sell fakes.

It definitely has DAC because otherwise you would not be able to use build in speakers on Note. Still - not using it for usb c native audio output is dumb, and thank you for mentioning it, I was not aware of that.
Would have been nix if they would have integrated the headphone jack at least in the hole for the pen if really needed. Of course you must carry that S pen then extra but you would have the option to use an AUX cable.

To anyone complaining about the headphone jack: you guys are the same people that want a massive foldable screen but make fun of it for a few broken review units. Samsung innovated in almost every way on this phone, and you guys are reduced to saying the speakers are slightly worse, there is a hole punch, and no headphone jack. Hole punch: just make it a giant forehead. Easy. Pop up cameras need to be tested first. That's why it's on a budget phone. It's a tiny little thing. Every other manufacturer has a notch, forehead, or an untested solution of a motorized camera. Cludgy solution that will never be used 2 years from now. Speakers: get over it. They are still great speakers. Find better ones on a wide selling premium phone. And the headphone jack. They had to remove it at some point. This isnt some no trade deal, you get stuff in return. But eventually you will need to get over it. At some point in your life, you have to move onto better tech. Theres a reason we dont use vhs tapes.

I think arguably time became ready more so than they would have in the last couple of years because Apple started the change in the industry standard and pushed more headphone manufacturers to make more and better wireless headphones due to increased demand. This move is just as bad then as it is now, it's removing a convenient feature without adding anything super important that necessitated the change.
But they gave you a USB type C set of headphones in the box that replace the need for a headphone Jack. With the increased battery life you just use those because you dont have to charge your phone near as much. At least on the Note 10+

The Bixby button was never a downside for me, I remapped it for the flashlight when the screen is off and spotify when it's on. I use it all the time and I love it.
Why does everyone whine about the headphone jack? For wired headphones there are unobtrusive adapters for a couple of dollars that adapt 3.5mm to USB-C seamlessly. I get substantially more battery life and just keep the adapter on my headphones. People need to get over it. Its 2019 many headphones are bluetooth these days but for those who don't want to manage charging them or the expense can simply use ISB-C headphones. If they dont want to buy USB headphones an adapter under 5 bucks can ensure all their existing headphones are forward compatible... it's a minor inconvenience...so was upgrading from VCRs to DVDs but everyone did it

I'm still on my Note 9 I just got it May 2019 could of went with the S10 Plus but the Note line will always be my favorite phone. Will upgrade to the Note 11 Plus.
I have the Note 9, I usually upgrade annually but decided to stick with the note 9, it just has everything - while the 10 has everything EXCEPT for the headphone jack.

My dad has been using his Note 5 since launch, and it still runs amazingly well. I’m not sure he’ll ever upgrade... but then again, I don’t really blame him.
@@adamgraham6265 I have the Note 10+ 5G and its a wicked handset. I haven't had the opportunity to try out the 5G yet but when it gets launched properly in London it will be worth the extra cost. At the moment it's a bit of a waste. I'd say only go 5G if you can afford to do so.
Watching this wayyy late, on my Note 9. Somehow the Note 10 kinda flew under my radar, but clearly I wasn't missing much. My Note 9 is still an amazing phone, best one I've ever had. Almost 2 years later I still marvel at it's design and how it really can do everything I want and need in a phone. Hoping it lasts me years longer
Same. I have $1k IEM's, and I'm not going to use the nearly worthless bluetooth dongle they have for them. It's either got a headphone jack or I'm not interested. I gave the bluetooth a chance, it's terrible in comparison, and I can be tying up the only port on the phone that can charge it with an external headphone jack dongle. I need my phone constantly, and it's generally plugged in to a charger so that when I need it elsewhere it has plenty of charge. So my Note 9 is still perfect for me. Maybe the 11 will be more of what I need.

It's kind of usability though too. To be honest, I won't buy a phone without a headphone jack ever again. It's a feature that is a must have for me. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until i had to live with it gone. Using a Type C dongle is fine...I guess. It's just that extra thing I have to carry around literally always in case I end up wanting to use my headphones. Especially when my travel is by bus, and most of the time I'm traveling I'm solo.

But I NEVER use the front camera, I would def buy a phone without a front camera any day if it came out at the ~600 euro price range, but the pop up thing that hides it also works, since I don't have an ugly black cut out or a notch on my screen, and get to use it once in a year if I really need to, so durability also ain't a factor, also there's the security factor- you can't be watched through the camera if it's a pop-up, though I personally don't care about that, some people may. And it doesn't affect the phone's waterproof-ness, since The OnePlus 7 Pro was submerged for a few hours without any problems, even if OnePlus don't pay for the resistance rating... And I'm not planning to go ocean diving with my phone, so that's good enough for me, if it can survive a little rain for an hour or sweat that's plenty...
So yeah, aside from more effort needed to implement it(and thus higher cost), I don't see a negative side to it....
@@mataskart9894 I barely use front camera too. It worth mentioning that average hole punch is about half the area of average teardrop notch, so its the best thing after pop up. I used the phones i had as a reference as mi 9t is significantly heavier and thicker device with less screen area and smaller battery compared to a71. Just if you are interested in glass vs plastic: Plastic on back of a71 is much more scratch resistant than gorilla glass 5 on the back of mi 9t.

samsung made jokes about other brands ditching the audio jack and now they do it themselves. with their most expensive, "jack of all trades" device with a loyal (built over the last 8 years) fanbase. oh the irony.
they should have postponed the release at least for another year for this one and put some more research in it. it feels like a reheated meal from yesterday; bloated up and coated in fancy dressing, but missing the bite and core flavours the 9 had. the Note was always about getting "more", but ditching the jack, limiting the storage und use a cheap punchout just feels backwards and „less“.
now we just get more models, not more specs.

I felt the same way honestly when it was gone, but having the actual phone, I don't really miss it as much as I did before, and I use my headphones almost 3-5 hours every day. Mornings, nights, in the middle of the day, etc.
Removable battery. IR blaster. FM Transmitter. Headphone Jack. SD card slot
(They removed it from the smaller Note 10. You know they'll be removing it from the S11 series.)
All reasons I chose Samsung over Apple. I don't care about the software half as much as the hardware.
And now they're all doing pretty much the exact same thing, with minor differences.

Though removable battery? Idk. They stopped doing that a pretty long time ago. To become more streamlined and function much better, not having a removable battery is actually an improvement. Headphone jack? As much as I miss it, it hasn't bothered me much. The usb C headphones work pretty well, and i rarely ever get to the point of my phone dying, so I rarely ever have to charge and listen to music at the same time.

I heard from a friend who bought Note 10+ that battery life suck, maybe a one day battery life if not worse. S10+ easily lasts for 2 day of normal use. Its not about the size, but the demanding components it runs.

I had the S series up to the 9 and now have the Note 10+ and I love it. I miss the headphone jack (though I like how thin the phone is), the hole punch takes some getting used to, and the fingerprint scanner sucks, but everything else is amazing to me.
The screen is gorgeous and it's my favorite device to watch videos on (it doesn't have that weird orange tint the S series always has). The UI is silky smooth, multitasking/picture in picture is a breeze, the battery is a powerhouse, the camera is beautiful, and the S pen is fun to use (even if pretty useless)

Also let’s not forget about the removal of the pulse oximeter sensor. I know that to a lot of people it’s not a big deal, but I use the one on my Note 9 all the time to measure my blood oxygen level after waking up (I have sleep apnea).
Regardless of functionality, it makes no sense to me that the S10 and S10 Plus have the headphone jack, expandable storage on both models AND the pulse oximeter, but the NOTE doesn’t.
The Note 10 is just a major fuck up and not worth the nearly or over 1000$
S10 is better choice and economical, you'll not need to upgrade for few years

I also have a snapdragon LG Stylo and it runs super smooth and no overheating, almost never gets hot I loved it.

It's real of course Verizon doesn't sell fakes.

To anyone complaining about the headphone jack: you guys are the same people that want a massive foldable screen but make fun of it for a few broken review units. Samsung innovated in almost every way on this phone, and you guys are reduced to saying the speakers are slightly worse, there is a hole punch, and no headphone jack. Hole punch: just make it a giant forehead. Easy. Pop up cameras need to be tested first. That's why it's on a budget phone. It's a tiny little thing. Every other manufacturer has a notch, forehead, or an untested solution of a motorized camera. Cludgy solution that will never be used 2 years from now. Speakers: get over it. They are still great speakers. Find better ones on a wide selling premium phone. And the headphone jack. They had to remove it at some point. This isnt some no trade deal, you get stuff in return. But eventually you will need to get over it. At some point in your life, you have to move onto better tech. Theres a reason we dont use vhs tapes.

This move is just as bad then as it is now, it's removing a convenient feature without adding anything super important that necessitated the change.

But they gave you a USB type C set of headphones in the box that replace the need for a headphone Jack. With the increased battery life you just use those because you dont have to charge your phone near as much. At least on the Note 10+

Not a single phone is worth $1000 though, but if you did fall for that price tag... it is the most justified phone to put that number down for.
The Bixby button was never a downside for me, I remapped it for the flashlight when the screen is off and spotify when it's on. I use it all the time and I love it.

Why does everyone whine about the headphone jack? For wired headphones there are unobtrusive adapters for a couple of dollars that adapt 3.5mm to USB-C seamlessly. I get substantially more battery life and just keep the adapter on my headphones. People need to get over it. Its 2019 many headphones are bluetooth these days but for those who don't want to manage charging them or the expense can simply use ISB-C headphones. If they dont want to buy USB headphones an adapter under 5 bucks can ensure all their existing headphones are forward compatible... it's a minor inconvenience...so was upgrading from VCRs to DVDs but everyone did it

Its not about the size of the memory. If I break my phone all I have to do is take out the sd and most of my data will be saved without having to mess with data recovery

I'm still on my Note 9 I just got it May 2019 could of went with the S10 Plus but the Note line will always be my favorite phone. Will upgrade to the Note 11 Plus.
I have the Note 9, I usually upgrade annually but decided to stick with the note 9, it just has everything - while the 10 has everything EXCEPT for the headphone jack.

My dad has been using his Note 5 since launch, and it still runs amazingly well. I’m not sure he’ll ever upgrade... but then again, I don’t really blame him.

@@adamgraham6265 I have the Note 10+ 5G and its a wicked handset. I haven't had the opportunity to try out the 5G yet but when it gets launched properly in London it will be worth the extra cost. At the moment it's a bit of a waste. I'd say only go 5G if you can afford to do so.

Watching this wayyy late, on my Note 9. Somehow the Note 10 kinda flew under my radar, but clearly I wasn't missing much.
My Note 9 is still an amazing phone, best one I've ever had. Almost 2 years later I still marvel at it's design and how it really can do everything I want and need in a phone. Hoping it lasts me years longer
That's why I'm still holding my note 9.

Same. I have $1k IEM's, and I'm not going to use the nearly worthless bluetooth dongle they have for them. It's either got a headphone jack or I'm not interested. I gave the bluetooth a chance, it's terrible in comparison, and I can be tying up the only port on the phone that can charge it with an external headphone jack dongle. I need my phone constantly, and it's generally plugged in to a charger so that when I need it elsewhere it has plenty of charge. So my Note 9 is still perfect for me. Maybe the 11 will be more of what I need.

@@itIsI988 because one it looks way better and modern as opposed to bezels which look hidiously outdated. Two it gives you more screen real estate without increasing the size of the phone itself. Hence its the same form factor but more usable screen. So that's why its way better and obsessed over.
@@azyrael96 sensors which weren't neccessary to begin with. So its not a comprimise. Most people who care about heart rate sensors for example will have a smart watch anyway which will already do that so there is no need for it to rob screen real estate which is much more useful than a hrs.
