Guido Terreni is the CEO of Parmigiani. Under his leadership, the small, fine watch brand has earned money for the first time and not made a loss. That sounds incredible - doesn't it? But Guido is not just a successful manager, he is much more: a gentleman through and through and a style icon. His good taste and sense of style set him apart from many other CEOs. His creations have that certain something extra, they differ favorably from many other watch creations. It's easy to imagine that such a pairing ultimately leads to great success. In this video, Guido gives us a lesson in good taste and watchmaking. It is one of the best videos we have ever made. It's a video that you absolutely have to see, every single second of it... The Watchadvisor team hopes you enjoy watching it and is already looking forward to the numerous comments...
The new Parmigiani TORIC Petite Seconde redefines drastically the codes of the conservative dress watch thanks to the choice of colors and execution: gold manual winding new movement, gold or platinum case, gold “chevé” dial, gold indexes and hands, gold crown, pin buckle only to admire the movement.
Caliber PF780
Three large surfaces in 18ct rose gold serve as bridges, arranged in a pure geometric perspective. Only the two barrels and the regulating organ are visible. This development with its unprecedented architecture, with its large bridges decorated with Côtes de Fleurier alternating with a sandblasted plate, references the great tradition of watchmaking in a minimalist and contemporary aesthetic configuration.

A very interesting lesson from Guido!
Yesss! Sometimes less is just more….
Exceptional presentation and content. Thank you all
I am happy to read this! Thanks for your kind comment!
Very refreshing perspective. Thank you for a fascinating interview.
Thanks for sharing … glad you enjoyed it!
This CEO is impressive. He explains it in a very simple way! Bravo!
Unfortunately this species of CEOs is very, very rare… Good for Parmigiani, sad for the industry…
I hope for much success to Parmigiani. Mr. Terreni is an intelligent and thoughtful leader, building the brand on ideas and emotions that i can very much relate to.
This species of a CEO is very, very rare… unfortunately for the industry itself, good for Parmigiani…
The dial looks much more modern without the guilloche. That texture is great. Congratulations 🎉 The Toric is going to be an immediate hit.
I think that's the plan! And its success is well deserved…
Amazing Video, Amazing Content as per usual! This is what the industry should look for! Authentic, entertaining and refreshing videos, well done WatchAdvisor!

I haven’t checked in for a few months, working my socks off for some time off and to enjoy the finer things in life.
Absolutely mouthwatering content and super informative Episode. I would say the Watch Advisor channel is probably one of the most cultured online content rich channels. Tim Mosso of the 1916 channel and various others would make for a great one off watch enthusiasts appreciation sit down. But I digress. Keep it coming and all the best moving forward into 2025!
Welcome back! Thanks for sharing your passion with us and for your super kind feedback!
Guido is absolutely "the man" what a pleasure to listen and learn from him. PARMIGIANI is the définition of understated but those who know they know
What a comment!! I love it! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic taste and intelligence from M. Terreni. I’m so happy that the Toric line has been revived in such a refined and tasteful way. Couldn’t be more impressed and grateful. And thank you Alexander for such an in-depth video: great job as always.
I am happy to read this! Thanks for the kind words…
I am pleasantly surprised with the content of this interview. The history of men’s fashion, the design considerations with two barrels and gold as a movement material…brilliant. Bravo for yet another enriching video.

Masterclass 👏👏
Yessssss! 👍🏼Thanks for sharing!
Such a good content! Very plausible explanation.

Hello, What a super interview. I must say the Parmigiani Fleurier are just just so fullm of style and are just amazing in the hand. Thank you.

Hi Alexander. What a video and what a watch. Thank you for introducing us to Guido Terreni. This brand is on my radar now. The way Mr. Terreni explained the sociological changes of the last century and linking sartorial and horology changes was genius. Thanks always for your wonderful content.
Love your comment! Thanks for sharing our passion! Keep us posted with your new discovery…
Design that rivals the big three. Quality that rivals the big three. Passion of a micro brand.
@@SdotThompson I fully agree… but Parmigiani is better than this… Why only big three?
@@BiografWien-zx6tf Who are the big two?
amazing lesson

Thanks for sharing your passion with us! Please keep us posted…
Great thickness!
Sliding perfectly under the sleeves…
Great to see more interviews like this. 😊
I am happy to read this!
Grazie Alexander, ottimo video, splendidi orologi. 🙏🏻👋
Grazie per aver condiviso la nostra passione!
Really, really pasionate CEO.
Great conversation.
Unfortunately this category of charismatic CEO has become very rare…
Can’t say I was a fan of Parmigiani. Mostly collected Rolex and Tudor at this point. This Tonda will definitely be on my radar.
@@Bravogiovanni Well that’s great! We keep our fingers crossed 🤞🏼 And please keep us posted 😜
Parmigiani is on a different plane from Rolex or Tudor. I wear rolexes when I just need to tell the time. I wear Parmigiani when I want to appreciate the watch I'm wearing.
Rolex to PF is like evolving from primordial sludge to the vitruvian man.
Thank you for the history lesson and PF is such an underrated brand ❤
You are welcome… I couldn’t agree more…
This is such a great video, well done!
Thank you so much!
Una meraviglia! Grazie

I admit I have a soft spot for the special... It's certainly a lot more fun to report on such unusually beautiful things...
Thank you sir for such a beautiful interview with a top horology CEO in the industry, Parmigiani is a top watch and I am a big fan of this brand and own 2 of it’s masterpieces, my only concern is that Parmigiani will be sold to Hermes or any other group and after that it will lose its identity as an independent brand which I hope not!
I explained/answered this in another/earlier comment… let me know what you think..
I think the Tonda PF has too much negative space on the dial. The new yellow dial without the date only exacerbates this problem. The Toric solves this with the small seconds which is why I think it looks amazing.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and passion with us! Keep us posted please…
Guido's videos should be at least 4h.
@@filippobertetto Love your passion… thanks for sharing!
Alexander and Guido. I’m all in
Love your comment, thanks for sharing!
Easy to see why everyone says he is a superstar CEO. Their watches are beautiful. I do not mind a manual wound watch but why not add a peripheral rotor for the customer not so in touch with his watch. Michele could do it in his sleep. Their watches have always been beautiful. Next step is value retention. Once that is done there will be yet another watch brand out of my reach😢. Great interview (lesson).
Thanks for sharing your passion with us and your kind feedback!
I love that rose gold petite second toric with rose gold movement except for that pf logo instead i will take old style full signed logo and i personally think they are overpriced by atleast 10 to 15% but if they can give guarantee of precision and accuracy i dont mind of timekeeping i dont mind paying full ,maybe a cosc certificate .
Thanks for sharing your passion and thoughts with us!
Thank God you and they exist so that we talk about watches outside of rolex. I am a huge fan of rolex, but the obsession became too much.
Rolex is something - yes! But we don’t do any click baiting exercises… so we only talk about the brand when it makes sense… It is cool that you show interest in PF! Please keep us posted and share more thoughts with us…
The 1996 Toric reminds me of a Breguet Marine before the new design came.
Maybe a little bit… yes…
Ein Chronograph von Parmigiani steht ganz oben bei mir auf der Liste 😊
Eine gute Wahl!
Thank you for the fun interview.
I can't help it though but feel Mr. Terreni was bit repetitive, at least with the part about fashion (heard exactly the same on other channel).
I wished for some less comfy questions, too. The gospelled PF selling offer or how the famed family views the brand right now.
High stakes politics are less foggy than watches...
It was fun nevertheless, thank you.
Thanks for sharing! This wasn’t a video about who is going to buy Parmigiani Fleurier/Pôle Horloger from the Sandoz Family … It is a very, very complex thing, since many players are involved … No one will officially comment on anything until it is done… I have my personal preference … I hope (the) Hermès (family) can buy this family business …
@@WatchAdvisor hi there, thank you kindly for the reply. Much appreciated.
Yes, you're right, the main matter did not mean to involve mentioned topics. It's just too often things in 'our' world are sugarcoated and hush hushed which feels irritating at times. Especially if it's about brands such as PF, where strong emotions from enthusiasts are in play.
Maybe it's just me but talking about struggles - be it financial, lack of vision, competition, makes the brand feel more of blood and bones... And yet, we usually get to know what happened in the post mortum books written after 20 years :(
Please don't take it as criticism toward your work. It's just a general comment, as said before.
@@SzczesliwyCzlowiek The selling/buying process of the “Pôle Horloger” plus the brand PF is in fact a very, very delicate one, since so many prominent parties are involved … Patek Philippe, Hermès and Family Scheufele holding shares … Audemars Piguet and Richard Mille depend on Vaucher Manufacture as one of their partly major movement manufacturers… Atokalpa + Elvin being key players in certain technical fields of high-end, luxury calibres manufacturing… Lets put it that way: only someone not willing to misuse of the industrial power of the “Pôle Horloger” should be able to buy it…
@@WatchAdvisor ahhh, I forgot all the manufacturing businesses involved... Thank you kindly for your time to explain.
And since Atokalpa also fully masters the hairspring and watch escapement production… it becomes “political” too…
Finally!!! :)
Thanks for sharing your passion with us!
@@WatchAdvisor Thx for always bringing amazing content to us.
Hopefully this drops to $20K or so secondhand in a year or two because I want one really bad 😅
I wouldn’t be so sure about that 😉
I'm a big supporter of the brand, although sometimes the customer service is not on point. But what will happen to the brand when the Sandoz family is selling their crown jewels?
Guido is working on all aspects of the brand to ultimately improve its performance… What will happen? I hope Hermès will be able to buy the „Pôle Horloger“ of the Sandoz family… if this is the case nothing will happen to the brand… if LVMH buys… we shall see… Know… Hermès has definitely no particular interest in the brand itself as part of the “Pôle Horloger” … so Guido with some investors could maybe also dare a MBO…
He sounds like a politician
@@tonynicaj3146 Really??? I don’t know a single politician that is so charismatic, cool and smart… No comparison!
Then u never heard of donald trump! Haha, also, yes Guido is the man, he took the brand to a whole new level, I actually have a tonda pf microrotor, love it!
Congratulations! May your Parmigiani continue to always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours!
They are very nice looking. They are very pricey.
They feature also a gold calibre… they are pretty exclusive… they are unique…
Sicher eine tolle Uhr aber leider Fade.
Aber genau das soll sie ja auch sein… „fad“ ist in dem Fall positiv…
