  • Hello & Welcome To fordmustang98guy & Today I Have A Very Special Treat This Afternoon I present you all a full in depth review on my buddy's Custom 1968 Pontiac Firebird. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of the car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it revvs under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

    The "dark grey exterior" is actually called "night shade green". I own one in the same color. It was a custom ordered color and was one of the few metallic colors available. Although I have seen the original dealer paint color samples and I am pretty sure a lot of people that ordered the car in night shade green were shocked when the car arrived because the paint color sample and the real thing look nothing a like. It's a fairly rare color but I love it.

      They are medium block. Bigger than a small block chevy, but smaller than a big block chevy. 400 Pontiac motor put out a lot of torque because the unique head design.

    Nice car, if you want to reduce over heating problems there's 2 air dam plates missing from in front of radiator support to top of front bumper support. 400s came with them , 326 and 350s didn't require them.

    • @cloakedgt
      @cloakedgt 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Gordaton still restricted for emissions, now you have to cram air into an engine to make it have hp, not like the old days with huge cams, intake and exhaust ports. Plus the hellcat is a fucking rip off 700hp for what? 80k? Lol I could build a 496 bb Chev with 800hp naturally asp. For around maybe 13k with brodix aluminum heads, not counting the fact that I could super charge it and have way more

      I agree. However these engines were too powerful to have in the hands of your average pleb. This is why these BS laws were invented so we now have to drive around in hideous looking 1 litre wedges.

This a very beautiful Firebird. One of the nicest I've ever seen. Don't listen to the haters. Like the girl that said the video wasn't a pleasure to watch. I hate to inform her but her profile picture is NOT a pleasure to look at lol. This car is bad ass. I told one guy on here who was bitching that I used to watch a lot of videos on old Smith and Colt revolvers and I heard a lot of incorrect stuff so instead of bitching about it constantly, I bought my own guns and did my own videos.

      If that engine is stock, or close to it, then you are way off. The best engine of the 5 offered in 1968 (400 Ram Air II) only produced 340HP. Even if these were underrated, you aren't even close to 450HP.
      The Firebird 400 only had 330HP with a 4bbl Quadrajet, so what else do you have in that thing to say it is 450HP?!

      Pontiac V8s from the same era were all the same dimensions (width), but with different internal volumes they made their different block "sizes". 350 had the same external width as the 400, 400 same as 455, etc. A great video by Myvintageiron7512 called Pontiac Engine Breakdown will explain this much better.

      Steve Cagle it’s a standard chambered exhaust system. Pretty typical.

      Pontiac didn't have a big block until 73. The 326. 389. 400 and 421 were all made from the same lock.

    Very nice car! I've always thought the 68 firebird was better looking than the Camaro. Your firebird sounds bad ass. Have fun with it!

    Beautiful. Can you please tell us the pant color details? I have a 67 and would love to match your paint. Do tell.
