It‘s so nice that you have the passion to do these videos. There is no one on this planet who does what you do the way you do it and it‘s awesome. Biggups.
Big ups dude! Thanks so much for the kind words, means a lot :) I love the music so the passion comes fairly easily for that part. Editing the vids I have to ramp myself up a bit more 😊
Cool! Amigo seems super versatile, and it's cool that they're getting some regular feature additions (not to mention them being free despite the super cheap price). I only got into production over the past couple of years (and barely touched dnb/jungle), but it's cool that the dev(s) made something that's so straightforward to use for those used to making that sort of music (whether on hardware or software). Also, it's cool to see a more raw unedited workflow, I can imagine it may not be exactly optimal to appease the TH-cam algorithm gods, but it makes for a much better experience for those of us who are getting into making this sort of stuff! Keep up the great work man! (Also, missed that you had a Patreon until now, just joined!)
Thanks so much for joining my Patreon! I'll shoot you a message in a minute with lots of great downloads to grab. Really appreciate the support :) Yea Amigo is just super fun to use and great value. UI is the biggest selling point for me. Lots of the DAWs now have solid native samplers but Amigo's is so simple in the way its laid out. Glad you liked this more laidback format also. I really enjoy just setting up the camera and recording a session like this. It's just hard with TH-cam as it often pushed you towards making shorter, more concise content which get more views (7-10mins).
Great video. Grew up using samplers and to be honest its still one of the best ways to produce imo. Such a simple but effective workflow. Amigo was an instant buy when I found out about it, amazing plugin.
I agree for sure. So much dope music has been made just using samples and samplers. Good way to put yourself in a bit of a creative box and Amigo is fire for that! :)
🔥love it. Amigo sampler is awesome. I've been doing some voluntary build testing for them. The new version is tight. It literally got me started making tunes again.
Cheers Troy! Yea it got some great new features. The pitch wheel amount up to 48 is cool for FX. Embedding the samples is also dope as you can do live sample rate reduction modulation/automation now. :)
Tune is really nice and chill. I would repeat that whole main loop section once or twice. Don't be too eager to go into a breakdown when the track has just hit stride. Let that roll for a while with just occasional flourishes. These chilled vibe tracks need to be allowed to just flow for time.
Thanks mate :) I've been working on the next video for this tune, fleshing out the track a bit more. Letting the sections roll on like you said. I agree, it's all about the groove with little bits coming in and out to keep things interesting 🚀✌️
Silly question about amigo sampler, i boutgh it a long ago but i couldn't make it work on fl studio. I did the instalation thing i move the vst3 to the right folder but it just doesn't show up on fl. :(
@@farben_ 2.0 and onward amigo now has internal filebrowser instead of the users system one :) u can set default sample directory ( also default theme folder ), preview samples ( even .iff and .8svx, raw amiga ones )
Sadly you still can't drag and drop samples in Renoise, which keeps me from using amigo. It just breaks the flow search a sample on it's file browser. I'm not sure if that is a Renoise problem or an amigo problem..
I like AMIGO but what keeps me from using it is that you still can't drag and drop samples in Renoise. Not sure if it's a Renoise issue or Amigo issue..
To me personally the point of it is the ease of use, simple and quick interface for quick results. Just a great tool for basic sampling plus a couple of cool sound design tricks, and a vintage vibe both in UI and sonically for nostalgia. And it's basically free (only 12 bucks or smth) amazing product IMO.
Yea me this too! The sound and features are great and a nice bonus but the UI and ease of use are what draws me back to it. Puts you in a nice creative box with such a simple interface. Amazing value also :)

Using Amigo is as much fun as using a hardware Akai or EMU sampler, I love it! 😊
Same! Love Amigo. Love EMU & AKAI 2 :)

Haha I was enjoyed that part :)
Cracking channel you got here Mr. G.

Nice one!! I have to download the new version! Excellent work as usual, brother!

@groovining I hope they add drag and drop track midi slices next! That would be next level! Hope you're doing well!
ah from the breaks! yes that would be a good feature. I'll suggest it :)
Awesome work thank you!
Cheers Dopocc! Amigo is wicked. Glad you enjoyed the vid :)

Awesome Video. learned some new techniques here! Time to update my amigo to version 2 😁
Thanks huggybeats :) Yea get the new update - its great and free! ✌️
Release this ethereal beauty!! 😅
I'm going to! Need to record the final part of the track making today :) ✌️
@@groovining how do you go about mixing and mastering? You do it yourself?

Loved this. One selfish thing I wish amigo will add is a pitch to bpm converter.
I guess they could add a pitch-stretch feature.
(edit) I just asked them on the discord :)
groovin in g always groovy
Cheers Stekker! New update is fire. Really enjoy being able to embed the samples & change the sample rate live :) 🔥
How do you prevent the ARTURIA from playing the arp / sequencer cache? Mine keeps playing stuff when I press the recording button in FL.
I'm not familiar with FL so i'm not sure how to help. This plugin is Amigo so Arturia shouldnt be affecting it.
@@groovining i will try to disable midi clock out to the arturia, maybe that helps
Silly question about amigo sampler, i boutgh it a long ago but i couldn't make it work on fl studio. I did the instalation thing i move the vst3 to the right folder but it just doesn't show up on fl. :(
The biggest problem I think with this was people movin the vst3 file into the vst folder or vice versa.
amigo.vst3 goes into vst3 folder
Have they improved the file manager on Amigo? That was my main issue with the plugin.
Says in the changelog for 2.0 that it has a new file manager. Not used the plugin myself as I still use the Amiga 1200
yes! they redesigned the browser.
That's great to know, it was really annoying loading samples in it in Renoise hope that's improved.

Does this work on the mpc software anybody know?
Yea I'm pretty sure the MPC software runs VST's so it should work fine :)
@groovining thank you for the reply I sure hope it does work
I like AMIGO but what keeps me from using it is that you still can't drag and drop samples in Renoise. Not sure if it's a Renoise issue or Amigo issue..
Yea it's the same issue in Logic X. I think Ableton can do this but lots of other DAWs struggle with this feature
I still don't see the point of Amigo, but I still watch your videos using it, I just take it as any other sampler with built-in decimator + bit redux.
What's "not" the point of that? It also has its own sound in a way though, as far as plugins go, emulating the AKAI timestretch.
To me personally the point of it is the ease of use, simple and quick interface for quick results. Just a great tool for basic sampling plus a couple of cool sound design tricks, and a vintage vibe both in UI and sonically for nostalgia.
