    This song is the reason I bought an mpc and got into music production. Discovered your channel via TH-cam and now it's all come full circle!

      Cheers Ledge! Yea Foregone Destruction is so dope :) How's the production going? Which MPC you got? 😊🌴

      @groovining mpc one+ and a korg wavestate for doing the pads. still learning. my biggest challenge is mixing on the MPC but its so fun

    • @groovining
      @groovining  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice Wavestate is super cool also - sampling stuff into the MPC. Yea mixing can be tough on hardware like that. Level balancing and panning with a bit of EQ are always the most important. Do your drums first soloed and get them to a good level where you have some headroom left on the main output mixer. Then bring up everything else against the drums. Basically use the drums as the mix anchor for the other elements. :) 😊🌴

      @@grooviningfor me XO is great for quickly sketching out drum loops and selecting sounds. Usually I make the first loop in XO and then drag the MIDI to daw and continue in piano roll.

    the end product never breathes or relaxes and the pads are a bit overused. youre playing it too safe with the breaks.
    And it doesnt really sound like 90s jungle, it sounds like "im making 90s jungle in 2020´s based on what ive seen on youtube"
    sorry to hate but Im tired of all these hurdur 90s jungle videos. It triggers me the same way as when people call it EDM or think electro means the same as electronic music

    • @groovining
      @groovining  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I guess the 3 other people liking this comment means there is some truth to it.
      For me, I would say I've made tonnes of lower quality demo tracks for projects that I wasn't as happy with but people didn't mind. I actually think I got pretty close to the sound quality & vibe of the Foregone Destruction & the unreal tornument OST which was the objective of the vid.
      Feedback is always welcome but some people just love to gatekeep. Especially with genres like old school Jungle. Like their specific interpretation of 90's jungle is the only one allowed. Why don't you got make some 'proper 90's jungle' for all of us, film and edit it, then put it out on TH-cam and see how well it does.

      it's not personal per se, im more tired of the this new "jungle from XYZ game/console in 2024" trend and every one of them creates the same liquid type jungle as if they are following a set list. There's so much variation in jungle and they all fail to capture it. This is what annoys me.
      I don't need to create anything nor am I claiming to be able to. The music of the 90s is already out there.

    • @MageAtYou
      @MageAtYou 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AysahSpades for reasons mentioned, I know its not personal but as general it feels disingenuous since this style has "blown up" a bit and it gets watered down because everyone is doing the same thing in the same style. The critique just happened to be here.

      I've covered Source Direct, Photek, Paradox, Shogun, LTJ Bukem as well as making tonnes of my own stuff on here. I'm not claiming to be the best jungle producer or anything but I've certainly covered lots of the different types of jungle on this channel. Everyone is mad on atmopsheric & video game jungle atm so I get why your venting on here but this is only 1 vid I've made.
