@Gnurt Lol “made by me” means he produced it and mixed it from the multitrack tapes, not recorded it. It’s identical, I’m looking at the waveforms from the original multitrack tape stems in Logic right now.
@Gnurt Upon further investigation -- the person who made the video got the tracks from the game "Rock Band" -- he mixed them and edited them a little bit himself in a DAW. But yes, they are the original multitrack stems. He did NOT re-record any parts himself, this is all original playing from the original band.
It IS the original version, slightly edited in the end. It's probably taken from some guitar game (Rock Band or Guitar Hero). In these games, whenever there are leads, you'll play them, if there aren't any then you'll have to play the rhythm, that explains why the rhythm is gone after each phrase or during the solos and you only hear the lead guitar.
When that happens...the instrumental is actually stronger than Vocal rendition...but a human voice with mental content "over top" is usually better. The strength of the musical arrangement makes this one of the best songs EVER.
Bernard Pantanacce ce n est pas lui qui joue mais bien mark knopfler ... pour la simple et bonne raison qu il se serait filmer en train de le jouer , personne ne joue ce morceaux comme la légende
Electronic music doesn't require any particular skill really I mean you do have to get used to how it works and all and you need to put some work in it to make it sound good and Original but I see what you mean because it isn't the same as making music with a guitar or a piano because that shit also just costs years if practice.

I think there is the need of another guitar... Anyway, I don't know maybe you have cancel the foce and add something to cover the lost of frequency... But is almost impossible to get the same sound in two different mix... If you don't have the right directives...
+Firemang Let me explain something. Being intimate with the girl/boy/whatever you love on a réálly good song, is great. Being intimate with a girl/boy/whatever that you kiiiiindof love (or like a lot) on a réálly good song, is also quite great. However....being intimate with someone you don't love or like...on a really good song... *will ruin the song for you.* Not to mention what'll happen if you hear the song...feel amazing and then see a disgusting pair of penisses slapping someone unelegantly in the face. Thank you (later)@@spartanxdj
That's definitely Knopfler playing. No one else plays like that.
@Gnurt This is the legitimate recording from the master tapes. Compare them side by side, same thing.

Yes. The guitar dances under his fingers.
@Gnurt dumbass
There are certain songs in history where I wish I could've been in the studio while it was being recorded, this is one of those!
This is one of the best tunes ever created. That's guitar is just insane
It's as perfect as you can get.
Like, seriously, I can hear no differences between this and the studio version (other than lack of vocals)

there's no backing guitar, only the lead and fill between riffs
mccarthyp64 There IS a backing guitar, but it‘s missing in many parts
There is actually a rhythm guitar track in rockband which plays whenever you play lead but the uploader just used the lead
When theres no lyrics but u still sing them to the rythym anyway
Fantastique ! Bravo ! Bravo ! Bravissimo !!! C'est du lourd ! Félicitations.

When your instrumental remake is so accurate you get a copyright claim. Impressive!
Because it's not. It's a rip from a multitrack used in a Guitar Hero game.
