awesome video, i knew about greasing the bearings but didnt know you could actually buy they needle for a grease gun i will defo be looking out to invest
Hi Arco, IR is my favorite grinder. I’ve never even noticed that grease port. Every time I lose a grinder it’s right there at the head. I always use 1 drop of oil each time I use them. Thanks for the tip!
Air tools should be lubricated after use. The reason is that as you use it, moisture is being forced through the tool. Air compressors take air from the atmosphers and compress it and the humidity in that air goes with it. As an air tool is used, it is blowing away the lubricant and water goes along for the ride. Oiling it after usage prevents it from rusting up internally while the tool is not in use - just add a dose and blow it through with a short squeeze on the trigger.
The grease gun needle I purchased off the SnapOn truck in 1976, has a sleeve that slides backwards over the grease guns tip and makes it rigid to the gun. This frees up a hand to help position the tip over a spring-loaded ball fitting like the one shown. Not only does it live the internet bearings but also the drive and driven spur gears that makes power flow thru this 90 degree angle. It is valuable, but honestly I bought mine to lube the captured u-joints on the rear Corvette half-shafts. There is no room to reach them. But I have seen people install really long grease zerks that are like 1 1/2” long. Also, many applications on motorcycles as well or during assembly of wear parts you can’t reach easy or accurately. Excellent tech tip. Perhaps I took mine as normal tool everyone had. Sorry! Great info that keeps wear away! DK.
Hey Arco most chainsaw bars have similar grease point in the front of the bar they sell a small hand pump grease pen that fills the chain bar bearing and the one by the motor also works on the air tools to add grease to the port even my air impacts have the same port like my G10k impact from northern and my Astros have them too! Keepem full for longer life!
My man! Fellow Mopar lover too. Have a '74 Plymouth Gold Duster w/Gatorgrain roof. You are absolutely correct but it's like the manufacturers have forgotten as well because this is not in most of the manuals nowadays!
@@TheMuddman74 yes they have been dumbing down the youngins for a while but us old timers got keep the Faith and the flame burning 😆 Nice car with the gator grain top hope she in a nice warm garage and you take good care of that top!
On the topic of die grinders, have you ever used those for fine or small area polishing? I really want to get a decent outfit for that purpose, but I'm not sure what brand to buy. I'd be great if anyone could chime in on this. I figure the brand I'd prefer would be whoever offers the biggest and most universal way to replenish pad supplies.
Yeah i prefer ingersol rand die grinders but harbor freight is just fine too. U can get complete polishing kits for die grinders on Amazon or ebay. I use jewelry rouge for polishing copper, aluminum, brass etc. its amazing. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. ARCO
That’s awesome! literally grabbed my angle grinder to see if I had that ball bearing good looking out brother. You should think about setting up that Amazon product thing you know what I’m talking about where you put a link in the description of your videos and then if I/we buy from that link it kicks you back a few bucks. I’m not huge on Amazon much rather buy local but when I can’t it’s there so you might as will make a buck off of it. You know I appreciate your videos big dog keep them coming
When i worked on ZF automatic gearboxes, as a prank we filled the whole air hose at someones work station and waited. 😂 Man there was atf oil E V E R Y W H E R E!!!

Great tip boss. I’ll give it a try
Good tip , thanks.
Just like on my wife’s sewing machine! Hers is for oil though.
The bearings have a metal seal. It more so lubes the gears. But it does eventually creep into the bearings too.

The grease process and oil process are two different items
