This is the same PG that literally broke his leg almost a decade ago. If anyone can recover from this knee injury, i bet Paull George can. This guy is a warrior
It's not as simple as you get older you mentioned a decade ago that's a lifetime in the association and how much of your skill set suffer
Also it will be even tougher for him to gain a rhythm again since he has been dealing with injuries constantly over the past two years
He’s a clipper
He’s actually a clipper but I get what you mean
Fun fact: Paul PG13 George is a Clipper not a warrior lol
As a guy who’s ruptured both Achilles tendons playing pickup ball, I root for him. Hope he’s ok
Just ruptured mine in january. How are you now?
@Khadim Ndoye you'll get through this bro
@Khadim Ndoye Hope your recovery goes well
Damn that’s tough. I hope you healed up okay.
No you didnt
I feel deeply for PG. Such a humble guy. So many injuries this season.
there's a lot of compliments you could have given PG, but "humble" can only be used ironically. is that how you were using it?
Should have went to the lakers
Nobody in the league deserves a title more than PG13! I said a prayer 🙏 for him last night!
@Nik Petrovic did you feel humble typing that out lmao?😢
Damn that looks tough man, this always happens to him and the clippers. Hopefully he can heal up and comeback strong next year.
Yeah man, the Clips are cursed.
@Jp Snsn much like the Mets
Next year? F that, if he's out for the playoffs its time to move on
Unfortunately PG was just caught up in the bad karma surrounding the Clippers, especially Kawhi, when he purposely entertained the idea of signing with the lakers knowing they would wait on him at the deadline and miss out on a lot of signings. He did that so they would be weakened and the Clippers would have a better chance, thats why lakers won a ring and clipper never will. Karma is like ghat
From a Lakers fan, I hope he recovers quickly. The game is better when he plays 🙏🏾🙏🏾
As laker fan as well, Paul is great person , the NBA is better when he plays, God speed recovery!!!!!
I said the same on Twitter, as a Laker fan I loved him in Indiana and also was a Kawhi fan but I hate to see this happen to him especially since it was the same leg the broke in 2014.
No shid the game is better when top players are healthy/playing… durrrrr
Nobody cares if you a Lakers fan
Exactly! Always known for injuries in his career & not accomplishments! He was always talking about playing w/ Kobe! He doesn’t have 1% of Mamba Mentality! Die Hard Lakers Fans will never except him!
Prayers up for PG. Just had meniscus surgery and knee injuries are no joke. Hope he’s recovers soon
Damn man. He already put in so much work to get back. Hope he’s okay.
One of the most brutal looking injuries there is in sports other than his already broken leg. This dudes body has gone thru some serious damage. Prayers up for him to recover again soon. Just brutal….
I'm a Thunder fan but i held my breathe when I saw that injury. Speedy recovery PG. Come back stronger 🙏🏻
A thunder fan is a PG fan for life, every time he plays you can be reminded you got SGA and all the clippers firsts for him. For damaged goods. Way to go Presti!
@Nik Petrovicswear thats all yall thunder fans care about🤦♂️like now is not the time bro cmon
I’m sick! Clips have had the injury bug for the past 4/5 years around playoff time.
Prayers up PG!
Clipper curse my guy...😢
They would've won one ring by now if they weren't injured all the time
We still might have a chance.. kawhi is still here.. and terrace Mann can step up.. but losing Paul George to an injury is a loss for us but we finally got a playmaker/facilitator that we needed for the past 3 playoffs..
We don’t need mvp russ .. but the russ that averages 6-8 assists..
I hope pg takes his time to come back, no hurries.. we still got a KAWHI.
And our roster is way better than it was last year.
Giannis actually only missed one or two games in that series after that hypertension. That injury is one of the more mild yet scariest looking. So hopefully that’s the case here. Great info Doc.
It's most definitely not . Giannis was more than lucky + he is built different and he had no clean injury history up until this point . I hyperextended my knee and destroyed every ligament . You really have no idea how serious this injury could potentially be ( career ending ) . Giannis in a past interview told that he took him 2 months to run or jump after the finals .
@Nick C. I agree that the Giannis' knee injury could have been far worse, but there is no reason just yet to assume the worst for Paul George. I saw Paul Pierce carried off the court in game1 of the 2008 NBA finals...any Laker fan can tell you how that turned out
You’re late for your standards, Doc. Thanks for the update. Get well soon PG. He’s been hooping lately.
lol I gotta sleep
@Brian Sutterer MD lol
You can thank him for this explanation instead of complaining. It takes time to make and edit a video like this
@StrykerViper 711 I'm pretty sure it's a joke 😉
@Brian Sutterer MD sleep is for the week. you already spoiled us with your live uploads. you gotta keep spoiling us😂
I feel so bad man. Since his injury all this years ago I haven’t seen him really use that same type of bounce last night man did a 360 and felt like he was having fun.
Hope he’s okay. Great explanation Doc for breaking down his injury. As always good job on your videos.
I had the same thing happend to me at age 14, playing football, knee extended al the way back there, horrific feeling and insane amount of pain. Took me out the game for a full year, never was the same after that. My prayers go to PG.
I hyperextended my knee a few years ago, getting out of a pool during a swim meet. It was a minor hyperextension compared to these players, but it was still the most pain I've ever felt. I couldn't walk for 3 days. I wish him the best.
This looks rough. He's a great guy, unlucky with all of his injuries, get well soon PG
Poor pg, he is one of my favorites. Hope he heals up for next season.
This guy is so articulate and intelligent. Very impressive. Hope PG heals quickly and is back playing soon 🙏
As a Lakers fan who hates the Clippers, and who used to make fun of Paul George when everyone else did, I pray for his recovery. I've really come to appreciate his game and him as a person, and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It's unfortunate this happened in the same game that he did a 360 dunk that was arguably the dunk of the Year. I hope he gets better. Prayers up.
He had a gruesome injury before at the Olympics. Hope he can recover again
One thing I always appreciate about your videos Doc is how you never name the player the injured player came in contact with. Of course any reasonable sports fan knows there’s no intent to harm or anything, but keeping their name out of the discussion is a nice courtesy to show that there wasn’t intent or malice-just a part of the game.
The other player's name is irrelevant to discussing the actual injury. He's not doing a breakdown of the play
I think it kind of matters here, this player was guarding tough t this game, perhaps too tough. Players should realize there are more important things than getting too close to injure someone
@PC lol no
@PC he was just playing good defense. Unlucky string of events is all.
Are you guys crazy? Not to be rude at all, but its the same thing when a player gets under a 3 point shooter. He needs his landing space
Damn these slow mos so tough to look at.
Pg is so unlucky with these freak injuries.. hope he's okay. Great vid doc
Took the words right out of my mouth Juiice
Clippers fan here. I had high hope Clippers will get to conf final. With PG injured, I think Clippers can get to 2nd round at best. Hope PG get well soon.
It's also worth noting, in addition to the factors already discussed, that some people naturally have more or less amount of natural hyperextension in their knees, which I'm sure plays a role in the severity of an injury like this.
100%! I’ve had this happen multiple times and walk it off and keep playing.. I’m naturally flexible and others break and are ruined from this.. hope this isn’t too far past his limit cause I could be bad but not too concerned
I waited late last night, waiting for your expertise on this injury. Absolutely 💯 as always! Thanks for those great content videos!
praying for PG. As someone whose had this injury, the hardest part is mental man. I always think twice before jumping now, can't imagine how PG shows up after everything he's been through.
My prayers go out to PG.. He has had some horrific injuries in the past so I hope this injury is not season ending
I had the same thing happen to me. I could not walk for about a week and had a brace. A month later I was fine believe it or not. I was much younger than Paul when it happened though...like 12.
I agree. This is one of those injuries that usually looks worse than it is. The knee is very tough in that direction. The way it bent inward instead of side to side usually means it's not that bad. Its side to side movement that is typically a bad indicator from my experience. However, because it's the NBA I assume they'll take precautions so wouldn't be surprised if regardless of the severity he misses rest of season + playoffs.
@Loverofhumanity that’s also the same leg that he injured in 2014
Hoping for his recovery. It’s sad to see players getting injured. I get that it’s part of the game, but it’s just sad.
A part of me thinks that there’s a difference on this PG injury vs the Giannis injury and that is there was an outside force (Dort’s leg) that prevented the knee from bending forward/forced the leg to buckle and bend backwards.
With Giannis, it was mostly about his positioning on that landing, the was no outside force.
Hope you're well doc!!!!
Thank you for the content
Get well soon PG, he’ll return stronger next season 👍
It's sad to see this . i wish full recovery and hope PG gets healthy fast . As Lakers i want us to beat clippers with full strength on both sides. There shouldn't be any excuses . A enthralling game with high octane energy. We fans deserve it a good game
Omg that was gruesome . I cried when pg got hurt the first time , I was a huge pg fan. This injury hurt the soul prayers for my boy PG
I hate defenders like that. If you’re landing and you widen your base with people around, you’ll either hurt yourself or hurt someone else. If everyone lands squarely without spreading their legs, there would be no injury like this.
The rebounder is so vulnerable in this position. And this injury is so detrimental
I also hyperextended my knee backwards after slipping slightly hurts like shit even with my own weight but what happened to PG had also Dort's weight and momentum downwards. Prayin for his recovery
Have done this myself and the pain was next level. Hurt 10 x worse than when I tore the mcl in the same knee a year earlier.
Agree MCL's hurt and the swelling is intense, meniscus is even worse.
the pain probably was 10 times worse because you already had tore your mcl .. so the area around your knee was already tender still .. maybe idk
From a Thunder fan, it really sucked to see PG go down like this last night. Dude finally got to come back and start playing again and probably won't even get to play in the playoffs. Really unfortunate, hope he heals up quickly
PG's last season with OKC was his best season. He was almost unstoppable.
@Pcorf Creations yeah man he was an absolute weapon that season. it was really exciting to see him coming back into form, and for the injury to have happened while playing OKC sucks that much worse
Thank you for the analysis! I'm a Clipper diehard and this injury is not good news:(
Hope he's back sooner than later; that looked painful.
As a person who actually had TWO knee dislocations, sending prayers to PG13 ❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
OMG.. that was a nasty snap of his knee. hope he comeback stronger
Lou Dort hurts everyone. It's crazy how many injuries he's involved in.
God Bless PG hopefully he doesn’t have major damage to that leg🙏🏽
Dam wishing a speedy recovery to my Guy PG...coming from a diehard Lakers fan 💛💛🖤🖤🤍🤍💜💜
cmiiw but this is the leg that he injured years ago during a scrimmage when he was still a pacer. Feel bad for him man.
P.S. I was legit waiting for this video analysis to drop seconds after his injury. Amazing analysis as always doc.
That's insane, he has a life & real job. Do you pay him if not go else where to get your nfo....oh you cant.
The game is better when all players are healthy! Not a clippers fan but I like PG he is a great player and I pray for speedy recovery!
Ouch nooo...I'm not a clipper fan but big ouch, lets hope he's OK because clippers are looking very good right now.
I hate the fact that the defender is in PG’s landing area. So many serious injuries from situations just like this. PG is a real one and wishing him a speedy recovery.
Very unfortunate for Paul George. It would have been great to see him in the Playoffs.
this literally happened to me and my knee hasn't been the same since. now i dont have crazy super doctors that the NBA has but i'm pretty sure hyper extending your knee like that is no bueno
Not a fan of PG13 but nobody wants to see a player suffer an injury like that. Hope he overcomes it.
PG never seems to catch a break from injury.
Got that same knee bend on a chase down block after you get mental confidence you can get athletic again. He's got this for sure
Somebody already mentioned this, but when I was a kid I saw PG break his leg like Anderson Silva or that one NCAA college kid. He’ll be okay, I hope he feels that way too 🙏❤️.
Man as a lakers fan. I hate to see PG get hurt. Hes been on such a injury prone career for such a good player. Add it to the list of injuries
Ouch I'm usually pretty desensitized but this one is difficult to watch. Had to avert my eyes. Good luck to pg i hope he heals fast.
I remember giannis had something similar when capela landed on his leg in the ECF. But giannis is a freak and managed to come back quick. I feel a bit for PG. That was brutal to watch.
Hope for a speedy recovery, least deserving guy of more problems like this
I just did my research and had to deep dive into his last big injury this was his surgically repaired leg. Now i may not be qualified to mention that but it coupd have something to do with the seriousness of his current injury. Could impact him now and moving forward. Hopefully he will be okay and recover over time but that leg snapped and its the same exact leg that broke from 2014.
Same leg. Different areas and weight-bearing mechanics. The lower leg snapped in the past. This injury centers at the knee. Both freak injuries but completely independent. The lower leg did what it was supposed to do here (provide support for the knee). The knee served as the fulcrum as the Dr explained. Further, bone healing is constant but about 80 percent of expected healing occurs over three first few months. Continued healing occurs over years. Either way, this is far enough out to unlikely be an issue even in the same area of the initial injury. Just fyi. No judgement, and good consideration in your part.
The worst case is this injury is similar to Shaun Livingston’s and he’s has a multi ligament damage; tearing his acl and pcl and possibly a femur or tibia fracture/break. The best case, he has a severe hyper extension and/or just has one of: acl or pcl is damaged or torn. Either way he’ll be out for the season, given the amount of games they have left.
I love PG. Wishing him the best. ✌👊
This was happens on Giannis too 2 years ago and came back to play the game the other day. I hope that this also the case for him.
i am laker fan but hate when someone get hurts, Hopfully Paul is back soon, pray for the best!!
Bruzzzzz mannnnnn, this is so hard to watch! But Brian just continues on, explaining the whole breakdown as if we are the athlete paying for his time while in the doctors office. Hats off to your Sutterer!
had a similar injury like this in a pick up game.. except it was non contact. I had to take a week and a half off till i didnt feel any soreness from the hyperextended knee
Mann not PG. I hates the clippers but as a Hoosier, I remember not too long ago watching him recover from one of the most devastating injuries, only to come back better than ever and give us pacer fans a show. You got this PG!!!
fr, I just watched his insane 360 dunk earlier at work and 10 mins later I saw the news that he got injured. I hope he recover perfectly fine on this one
My prayers will be with him.
Praying for fast recovery PG13 go dogs!
Life is just not fair man. Hopefully PG can come back like Giannis this time around.
Not a fan of Paul George, but this is painful to see, nevertheless.. hope he gets back on his feet soon.
damn we're really cookin on the knee hyperextensions lately! hits close to home for me I tore my PLC with a knee hyperextension type injury. this one looked rough hope PG can make a full recovery
Jesus I can barely stomach seeing that. that kills me. :( Prayers up for PG, man.
Nice work, Doctor. Yours is the type of niche channel that showcases TH-cam's true value.
That has to be season ending damn, that sucks he was playing insane
Actually tore my ACL the same mechanism off a severe hyperextension caused by contact the same way dort short-tracked PG from landing normally. Obviously unintentional and hope it isn’t as bad as it looks. If it is hoping for a great recovery with no roadblocks
What I find weird, is that I’ve only ever seen athletic, thinner guys and gals have this happen. You’d think that larger athletes would hyper extend more. And I am a big guy and played pickup basketball a lot. But I’ve never seen a larger person have this happen. Which I find so weird because of the amount of weight that is coming down onto the joint.
Thanks Brian , I'm not even a Clippers fan and I hate this ... I want to see a fully healthy NBA.
It is a shame to see so many great players hurt.
Can't big/strong muscles around the knee compensate for the ligaments almost entirely? My trainer was saying some new research is exploring the possibility that the knee ligaments aren't even needed for sports.
It makes sense Giannis' knee held up better than anyone else's would, because his legs are strong. I could imagine PG coming back from this soon.
Made me think of the injury Giannis against the Hawks. The Clippers will be lucky if PG can come back in that same timeframe. But, he's older and had that shattered knee with Team USA on that same leg, I believe.
He didn't shatter his knee on Team USA, he had a compound fracture
@Jay Curry true. I guess I was thinking I saw in the press that a doctor that looked at him described it as a leg injury you see in a car crash. It was the lower leg not the knee
hate to see PG go through another serious injury. It def reminded me of Giannis hyperextension injury and also hope he has a similar recovery.
The same thing happen to Giannis at play off a couple of years ago, he missed a couple of games or something and manage to come back.
Hope he gets well soon
Hi There Doc! Creepy the injurie of George! Hope the recovering time be like Giannis`. Why don`t you make some videos about incidents on soccer focused on #MLS and #LigaMX. There`s a good number of people interested on such injuries. Enjoy your videos, really didactic! Saludos!
Get well soon PG!
When someone lunges at you, shove them to the ground or you end up like Paul George. It’s better to get a tech than lose a knee
Few things in sports are more painful to watch than a joint that goes in the direction it's not supposed to
Awwww even painful just to see. Get well soon PG13
I’m going to school to be a physical therapy assistant and his breakdowns of things is just great popcorn to snack on and refer to for examples.
Maan this Clippers Curse is no joke.
All jokes aside, I hope PG is ok and I hope things get bright for the Clippers for once
I could only watch the Paul George injury once --ONCE. Then I have to turn my head every time they show it because I know what happens. The only hope I see for PG (and the Clippers) is that this injury is similar to Giannis'. I thought Giannis was done for the playoffs, and he came back from that injury quite soon.
DAMN Prayers up for PG
Hope he gets heal!!
Hopefully it isn’t season ending, poor clippers 😢😢😢 as a bulls fan. I hate injury’s more than anybody especially knee injury’s.
nah he’s cooked
what sucks about this is that even after recovery the knee feels extremely weak but you know i dont have nba docs trainers etc. those would help, as a ametour player it takes a toll on you mentally
Omg this is insane I feel bad for him. I hurt my knee the other day and crap not like this. Oh man this crap is painful
God please help this man heal quickly
I almost choked up seeing that. That looked like it hurt.
He going down like penny. We will always wonder how good he could have been
