That's the best presentation I've seen so far, thank you. Interesting touch, wetting the drywall to be bent into place. And assembling the arches before mounting to the doorway--first time I've seen that.
Cuttings slits on the back with a utility knife would make it bend easier. Just keep the slits a few inches apart. I'd probably call them control cuts. Awesome video.
I just want to thank you for being straight to the point. Music was fairly pleasant and your strategies were simple just a little bit of common sense and this video and I’ll have a arched door way in no time! Thank you!
Thanks Bailey. As we see it at Sacko Hammers, home improvement and maintenance isn’t rocket science. Some guidance and good tips is all that’s needed. If there’s a topic or concern you’d like us to address just let us know!
More backing on the bend. The end grain of that plywood isn’t going to hold those screws for very long. Overall I’d say you’d did a pretty good job on that.
Wow !!!!!! 👌 great job I'm looking to do that in the doorway entrance of my fifth wheel trailer... You can't have anything heavy on the wall so I'm thinking cardboard and then reupholstered it But you never made us see the full picture of your masterpiece 👏 bravo Sir but you gave me and idea 💡
A couple thoughts - wouldn't it be easier to just hold up the square sheetrock, set it with some screws, and the saw/router it out? Then you're not dealing with a flimsy arched piece of drywall. Also, spray adhesive helps a lot to keep the flex corner bead in place while getting the screws on.
Spray adhesive! We’ll test that out. As a matter of fact, one of the types of videos we plan to produce are Comparison Techniques and Processes that accomplish the same outcome. So we and our audience can make a determination/choice as to which is best suited. If you have an idea, send it to us and we’ll consider it for a future video!
I fix foam all my beads on these days. Tried every way and foam is a winner, especially on arch beads as your not disturbing the flow of curve with each nail
Scoring the back is a traditional way of “curving” drywall. This way is an alternative to that method… but if you think about it, it replaces all that scoring doesn’t it?
You know we retrospectively thought we may had been a little too light in details in the frame construction but we like to give our audience a little credit for intelligence and not over explain the minutia of each and every step. 👏
The scrape is a method to detect screws or nails that aren’t deep enough to be covered by mud. As for the mudding, that can be seen in hundreds of other TH-cam videos
Oh no u didn't just wet that to bend that round the corner it will dry buckled lol ur ment to cut on the back of the board to go around corner like that bud
That’s not true. What will rot? Drywall absorbs moisture from mud and it doesn’t rot. We’re just demonstrating an alternative to the old slit method that saves time.
@@sackohammersllc8447 Before, I did it back in August as part of a renovation to my house. My arches were constructed very similar to yours's. But yours's look way better!
You were doing fine until you wet down the sheetrock. This holds moisture and eventually Mold . Even when you spackle it, in time you see the spackle turn black or green- that's Mold. So to create the bend, just back cut the sheetrock every 1 inch or so and be carefull not to go thru the other side like this : | | | | | and so on. Then screw it into place in one piece. Nice and easy.
Mold occurs when areas are exposed to wet conditions and there’s little to no ventilation. If we use your argument regarding the amount of wetting we used in the video, we’d have to assume it’d never dry. If that were the case then the moisture in drywall mud wouldn’t dry either and cause mold as well. But that doesn’t happen does it.
great video! No talking, no BS introduction, clear and to the point, thank you.
Seriously. Awesome vid
After watching several ARCHWAY videos, your's was TOP NOTCH ! Hands down, best way to build & install👍

I’d argue that the slit cutting is easier than the technique we’ve demonstrated
Looks better than the archway kit to me . completely round not just the corners- I'm going this way !
We can answer any questions you might have. Just let us know.
The only video I used for building 2 arch doorways in our house! Very concise and helpful , thank you
We’re glad you found this video helpful. We have another being completed soon. Perhaps you’d like to follow our Sacko Hammers Channel!?
Hello, I want to reinstall an arch. Would the same techniques apply?
This is the best method I have seen so far.

Glad u did the drywall part too...nice work
aww I really wanted to see the finished results.
Great video/demonstration exactly what we needed.Thanks! :)
That’s genius! Wetting the drywall 👍
So retro 1970s! I was expecting to be shown how to take one out 😂

Does it matter if the bottom tips of the arch plywood break. ? Mine keep breaking when I bang them on something 😂😂😂
Easy and beautiful.
I'm going to try this! wish me luck 🤟
So helpful thanks!

Sure you could do it that way. We just needed to be conscious of how much dust we were creating.

Hi Sir. I want to ask, what material that you using ? Is that a Gypsum board ? And why do you watering it ? Appreciate if you can reply thank you 😊
Yes it is gypsum. It’s watered to make it “softer” more “malleable” to bend.
Question...when you put the drywall over the plywood doesn't it now. Become thicker than the original wall?
We failed to show that the internal wood pieces we used were cut down 2X4’s to compensate for the plywood thickness
Thank you so much for an excellent how to video!
Why you didn't cut the plasterbords stripe at the back so it's easier to bend it? It's logical it will snap if you force it
Scoring the back is a traditional way of “curving” drywall. This way is an alternative to that method… but if you think about it, it replaces all that scoring doesn’t it?
Thin flexi board will curve into place easily as an alternative, especially if you wet it. Think its about 4 or 5 mil thick
The BEST, Thank you
Good job
love how easily you did the frame
You know we retrospectively thought we may had been a little too light in details in the frame construction but we like to give our audience a little credit for intelligence and not over explain the minutia of each and every step. 👏
What happenes to the final reveal. Just ended with him a scrapping the wall....then a black screen.😒
The scrape is a method to detect screws or nails that aren’t deep enough to be covered by mud. As for the mudding, that can be seen in hundreds of other TH-cam videos
What type of material are you using in the middle that's bending ad you attach it?
Drywall
No second part? No finished results?
We decided that the taping and muddying steps can be seen on other TH-cam videos. We keep ours shorter by not including that part.
Thanks 👍👍
Exelente trabajo
That’s a very awkward way to put plasterboard on, wouldn’t it have been easier to make small nicks and bend it that way?
We’ve done both ways and this way is quicker
Awesome
Oh no u didn't just wet that to bend that round the corner it will dry buckled lol ur ment to cut on the back of the board to go around corner like that bud
What’s the difference if you cut it or break it like we’ve shown? It’s all going to be mudded over anyway.
Do like ur bead technique tho well done
That wet drywall is going to rot over time. If you make slits in the drywall you won’t have that problem.
That’s not true. What will rot? Drywall absorbs moisture from mud and it doesn’t rot. We’re just demonstrating an alternative to the old slit method that saves time.
Sometimes life hands you a sack of hammers- depends in what you do with it..
Woow nice
Great video, would be so much better without any music :)
It’s meant to be kitschy
Why not just use thin flexi board or pack out ond fill it with bonding coat
I just removed 3 curved arches from my house!
Before or after you watched our video?
@@sackohammersllc8447 Before, I did it back in August as part of a renovation to my house. My arches were constructed very similar to yours's. But yours's look way better!
I want to add archways to mine! I can't stand the abruptness of so many hard angles. Archways soften the appearance! It also goes with my big windows.
I hope our video gives you some insight to your task.

32.5
That's so not how you do it correctly
Thank you
Good stuff here. But if I wore the shoes youre wearing. My boss would yell a me lol! hammer or 2x6 falls on your toes. Ouch! Doesnt look professional.
Not the best but it worked and like other guy said "better than that crappy arch kit for dumb arses '
Paper will fall off lol
no comment
This is absolutely the wrong way to to this.
Sorry Brett but it’s not wrong. It’s just one way.
How would you do it?
Show your version please
Craftsmanship looks great WTF with this music yep with this music why does it sound like you're trying to feed starving kids in Africa.
Nice mask clown
