Adore the song and love the video too. Such a simple concept, walking along the beach and singing in one take, but the way it was shot and the speed changes and everything make it so unique and beautiful. Loved this behind the scenes video! The process was interesting to learn about. My favorite part was where you sang the song back to the girls and they both had the CUTEST little smiles on their faces!!! 😍 (Kinda wish that part made it into the final, it's too cute.) Looking forward to seeing the BTS videos for the other music videos. So fun 👏 Well done all.
This music video was absolutely amazing! One of my favorites! I watched it so many times and it never ceases to amaze me! The concept seems simple, but the closer you look the more complex and spectacular it becomes! Amazing work!
amazing video mark! really was intrigued of the process of these music videos so thank you so much for the brief explanations! hope to see more of the other tegan and sara music videos you did as well!
Man Great Video, love the hole album, I feel so grateful cuz I was waiting for so long to see them live and recently at Comic Con I finally meet them in person. They are the best. Love T&S forever.
nice work, seems like you were really prepared for it. I think that's all you can do, no matter how prepared i am I'm always nervous before a shoot. Great work though!
My FX3 doesn’t record at 48fps, so I did record at 60fps, and cut in a 29.97 sequence. So no issues syncing. Just did a 200% speed change for the necessary parts. Had to do minor speed ramping tweaks to help with any parts where they were in front or behind the lyric. Was going finish in 24, and wish I did (kinda).
Do u make a video on how u edit the footage? Is it really just one take? I mean, u'll only need to edit the speed of the clip, grading it, and it's done?
I haven’t made a video yet about how I edit, but yes, you’re right - for this music video it was only one take so it was just a matter of doing the speed changes, and grading.
@@markmyersfilms : but, but then, how u sync it all? I mean, u even count the time one day before so u know how many time u do have for the shoot until the sun rises, rite? I mean, i got confuse here.. hahaha.. lets say the sun rises at 0600. So then u have 10 minutes for shoot, 5 minutes before sunrise, and 5 minutes after sunrise, so u'll get the footage from dark to where u have the sunlight, yes? And the music is only 4 minutes, not to mention that the music is fast forwarded, rite? Lets say the music is fast forwarded from 4 minutes to 2 minutes. And then what? Did u take that 1 shot video at 0559 untill 0601? I'm really sorry if u can't understand what i said, I'm not fluent in english, And I don't understand the shooting process at all to make a video like this, And u know, that made me completely confuse to even ask a proper question so u can understand what the question really is.. 😭
@@kyai_funky I was hoping my video explained the process clearly, but although it’s a one take video, I shot it 10 or more times over the course of an hour. Then picked the take where their performance was the best. The sync is describe in the video. But I had to slow down the sections where they were performing at 2x, and loop certain parts
@@markmyersfilms : so, u mean, the transition from dawn to sunrise is only a matter of color grading? Not the actual process of the sun rising captured on camera?

This video is so cool and really ambitious all things considered. Really looking forward to the rest of the making of videos.
We need the making of “i can’t grow up” too😭😭. Yellow was a beautiful video btw
It’s coming :) 👍
Love the technical details. Very cool.

It's so cool to be able to see the process! Inspiring as well. Thank You!
Thank you for watching

I’m always nervous. The fear of the unknown.
Thanks for this! So you recorded at 60fps, and conformed to 24? Any tricks on getting everything to line up in post?

Did you have any problems syncing the normal speed song to the slow motion footage?
@@koredea4207 a little difficulty. But not too much because of all the pre-planning I did

@@kyai_funky yes, I was inspired by the same technique they did in Coldplay’s “yellow” which was a even bigger colour transition from night to day.
Their eyes look empty. 😢
