I am a seasoned Social Worker who has worked with many abused children. From the comments I have read, many of you share the same concern. The safety and welfare of this little girl is at stake if this continues. Yes, she is talented, but she is also only 4. She is dolled up wearing make-up and false lashes like she's 16 and dancing way too provocative fore her age. I hope her parents read this and act now to prevent future harm to her.
This is a very talented child. With that being said, this routine isn't appropriate for a 4 year old. Is she in gymnastics or ballet or other dance classes? Her talent can be better developed from that genre.
My granddaughter started cheerleading when she was about 5 and she really wanted to improve which she did by her working when she wasn't at gym.. she never did any vulgar moves. .she now has her own gym and after competing on teams beside school ones she has trophies that fill a bedroom She was an All-American and had a college actually come to her with schorship. Dance, Cheer, track ect offers opportunities for girls so why would any parent have them doing something that may be cute but possibly have some pervert eye-balling them??

I have a friend who's mother was hell-bent on making her a star. She was encouraged to perform like this. She was in dance, gymnastics, acting classes. Her mom took her to Hollywood to audition somewhere around age 10-12. Mom was told to leave and come back in 4 hours because they had to do a makeover, headshots, and film. My friend was raped by the agent. She rebelled refused to do any performing, lived with my mom and I for awhile. She left us, got pregnant and ended up in jail. Her mother ended up getting her baby. My friend became suicidal but she got treatment. Now she has a record and has limitations on what jobs she can get. It is sad what this little girl is facing.

Actually they use spray tanning, heavy makeup, hairstyles that would make made most of their grandmothers jealous when they were younger and mouth pieces called flippers. It looks like a retainer with a full set of pearly white tooth veneers so they have a perfect smile. I always thought little kids looked cute with a missing tooth. Not for these pageants! Oh, and don’t forget the fake nails. To me these pageants, no matter the age group, have gone so far into the inappropriate behavior side of things; it’s become a disgrace. Some of them spend upwards of ten hours going to these competitions. I’ve seen where the kids have to be pumped up with sugar in order to keep them awake. Can you imagine how harmful it is to their actual health? I don’t understand why this isn’t considered child abuse, child endangerment and child exploitation all at the same time. Why isn’t this industry being investigated by some organization looking into all this sexual exploitation and trafficking?

As a mother and grandmother of girls I never have understood why parents want to exploit their children.

I have a friend who's mother was hell-bent on making her a star. She was encouraged to perform like this. She was in dance, gymnastics, acting classes. Her mom took her to Hollywood to audition somewhere around age 10-12. Mom was told to leave and come back in 4 hours because they had to do a makeover, headshots, and film. My friend was raped by the agent. She rebelled refused to do any performing, lived with my mom and I for awhile. She left us, got pregnant and ended up in jail. Her mother ended up getting her baby. My friend became suicidal but she got treatment. Now she has a record and has limitations on what jobs she can get. It is sad what this little girl is facing.

Actually they use spray tanning, heavy makeup, hairstyles that would make made most of their grandmothers jealous when they were younger and mouth pieces called flippers. It looks like a retainer with a full set of pearly white tooth veneers so they have a perfect smile. I always thought little kids looked cute with a missing tooth. Not for these pageants! Oh, and don’t forget the fake nails. To me these pageants, no matter the age group, have gone so far into the inappropriate behavior side of things; it’s become a disgrace. Some of them spend upwards of ten hours going to these competitions. I’ve seen where the kids have to be pumped up with sugar in order to keep them awake. Can you imagine how harmful it is to their actual health? I don’t understand why this isn’t considered child abuse, child endangerment and child exploitation all at the same time. Why isn’t this industry being investigated by some organization looking into all this sexual exploitation and trafficking?
