    I recently bought the Katana Bass 110 after comparing it with the Fender Rumble Studio 40. I've played it on a couple of gigs in smaller venues, one being a marquee; both times not using the D.I. It could've had a little more headroom but I found at the end of the day, the A-B amp tech and speaker design, meant that the quality of the various tones I demanded, didn't suffer. With my regular bands, I would D.I. and therefore, got this amp to use as a monitor (with the added bonus of having all its bells and whistles). I use I.E.M.s but still like to feel some 'air' move. It's also so easy to move from one soundscape to another at the drop of a hat. I would be interested to try out the 100 watt 2x10 combo but that defeats my purpose of getting a small, highly-portable powerhouse that I can take to the studio, work at home with and go on the road with. So far, this is the best piece of kit I've bought in a while. As for the tuner, there's a tiny D'Addario one on the back of my headstock. Thanks for your review, Patrick!

    Damn, that is a huge feature package!😳
    If they'd put it out as a standalone head, this would basically be an absolute nobrainer for me

    Just ordered the 160 watt 210 today! Played the 110 at my local music shop and was blown away! I don’t really dig class D amps, I’ve been an “only tubes” guy for a while now, but I didn’t feel as though this amp sacrificed sound quality at all. It is a class AB though, and it makes all the difference in the world apparently.
    I was really wanting the newish Fender Adam Clayton fully tube 50 watt combo amp, but after playing these two side by side today I honestly felt like the Boss sounded much better. Crazy I’m saying it, but it is what it is. I immediately came home and ordered the 210! Can’t wait to share more about it!
    Peace to all my fellow low end connoisseurs ❤

    I really want to love this amp, but I'm having such a hard time getting to grips with the Boss app for my Waza Air Bass that this looks a little intimidating... looks like I'll be spending most the time fiddling with the app and not hitting the bass!

    How does the speaker/live sound, sound? Does it have a good full range tone? I am meaning for bedroom playing and not giving. I know some of these combos will have a hollow mid range tone from the cab. Great video and your playing is always so good.

  • @seankelly2753
    @seankelly2753 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Would’ve liked commentary on how the Class AB power stacks up against Class D. Regarding the “only 60W” comment, the KTN110B is at least as loud as the 100W Class D competitors without sacrificing tone when cranked up.

    • @deangullberry5148
      @deangullberry5148 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      As explained to me, in layman's terms, by an electrical engineer I work with:
      A/B is like having 3-5 X more power than class D.
      That "little " 60 watter is like pushing the competitions 200w.

    Can you not save more presets under the library in tone studio as you do with the Katana guitar amp ? Agreed it would be nice to have more on the amp itself. I have a 3rd party phone app for the guitar version, and just download a set of patches from there via usb if I need more. It annoys the hell out of me that they didn't put balanced stereo DI out on the guitar Katana !

    Could have been great but there should have been a 100 watt version and there are features here that have been done better years ago.
    The Fender Mustang V1 and V2 amps were light years ahead of this and that was over 10 years ago.

      I found the Rumble to be better. I run a 5 string fretless tuned down one step (ADGCF) with flat wounds and the Katana kept farting out on the low notes no matter how I set the gain / EQ. The rumble took it with a smile.
